The Panthers released Hollister on Tuesday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports. Hollister turns 31 in November and missed all of last season after reaching an injury settlement with the Raiders. He has 62 games of NFL experience with a career 83-707-7 receiving line, but Hollister didn't do enough to win a 53-man roster spot in Carolina this summer, finishing the preseason with four catches for 27 yards.

Hollister and the Panthers agreed on a contract Sunday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports. Hollister sat out the entire 2023 season after reaching an injury settlement with the Raiders last August, but he appears to be fully healthy ahead of the 2024 campaign. With Ian Thomas (calf) sidelined for the time being and Stephen Sullivan (quadriceps) out for the season, Hollister will provide Carolina with another depth option behind Tommy Tremble (hamstring) at tight end.

The Raiders released Hollister (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. The nature of Hollister's injury is not known at this time, but he will now be free to play again this season. The journeyman tight end has spent time with the Patriots, Seahawks, Jaguars, Vikings and Raiders since entering the league in 2017. It remains to be seen what his next move will be, but he will have to wait until his health is back up to par.

Hollister signed with the Raiders on Aug 2. and was competing for a depth spot at tight end behind Austin Hooper, 2023 second-round pick Michael Mayer and Jesper Horsted. Hollister split time last season with the Raiders, Vikings and Seahawks but failed to record a catch over five games. He's set to miss the 2023 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Las Vegas.

The veteran tight end has played for five teams throughout his six-year career, racking up 83 catches for 707 yards and seven touchdowns. Expect the 29-year-old to battle for a depth spot in Vegas' tight end room ahead of the coming season.
