Jones played one offensive snap and didn't receive a target during Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Dolphins. The 26-year-old re-signed with the Jaguars in mid-April but unsurprisingly saw most of his action on special teams in Week 1, as he played 16 snaps. Jones appears to be behind Parker Washington and Devin Duvernay on the depth chart at wide receiver, but none of that trio is likely to have offensive relevance if top wideouts Christian Kirk, Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas remain healthy.

The Jaguars re-signed Jones on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Jones was an exclusive rights free agent this offseason, so the Jaguars had the option to retain him for 2024. The wideout appeared in all 17 games last season for the second straight year, finishing the campaign with an 11-83-0 line on 18 targets. He upped his offensive involvement from 145 snaps in 2022 to 339 due to injuries to Christian Kirk and Zay Jones during the year. Jones will again compete for a depth job this summer.

Jones caught one of two targets for seven yards during the Jaguars' Week 18 loss to the Titans. He closed out the season with 11 receptions for 83 yards in 17 games. The 25-year-old played in all of Jacksonville's games for the second straight year and was a bit more involved in the offense, but it didn't result in notable production. Jones will be an exclusive rights free agent this offseason and could be back with Jacksonville for 2024, but he's unlikely to be anything more than a depth wideout.

Jones failed to catch his lone target during Sunday's 26-0 win against the Panthers. The 25-year-old played 39 of 63 offensive snaps -- trailing only Calvin Ridley among the Jags' wideouts -- but was minimally involved in the passing game. Jones secured three passes for 32 yards last week in Tampa Bay but is otherwise catchless over Jacksonville's past seven games. He has limited upside even if Zay Jones (hamstring) sits out again in Week 18.

Jones wasn't targeted during Sunday's 34-14 win against the Titans. The 25-year-old had an expanded role the past few weeks but wasn't involved in the passing game Sunday with Zay Jones (knee) back in action. Tim Jones is likely a couple injuries to Jacksonville's receiving corps away from having a notable role in the team's aerial attack.
