  • Laviska Shenault: Released by Buffalo
    By RotoWire

The Bills released Shenault on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Shenault played a combined 70 snaps across offense and special teams during the preseason and caught just two of his five targets for 30 yards while returning seven kickoffs for 221 yards. He was competing for the returner gig and a depth wideout role in Buffalo.

  • The Bills activated Shenault (lower leg) off the active/non-football injury list Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Shenault is healthy again after having been sidelined for the start of training camp due to a lower leg strain. The 26-year-old is expected to serve as one of the team's primary kick returners during the upcoming campaign and could contribute as a depth receiver as well.

  • The Bills placed Shenault on the active/non-football injury list Wednesday due to a lower leg strain, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Shenault was withheld from participating in Wednesday's practice, and while he's eligible to practice and play in the preseason at any point, head coach Sean McDermott did not share a timetable for the veteran wideout's return, per Alec White of the Bills' official site. Shenault signed a one-year deal with the Bills in March after playing in 11 regular-season games for the Seahawks in 2024, finishing with five catches on as many targets for 36 yards while adding 459 kick return yards and a touchdown.

  • Shenault is slated to sign with the Bills, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. The kickoff returner and wide receiver spent 2024 with the Seahawks and Chargers before being cut from L.A.'s practice squad in early January. Shenault finished the season with 459 kickoff return yards and a touchdown, but he caught just five passes for 36 yards. The Bills will likely have at least Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer ahead of Shenault on the wide receiver depth chart to begin the offseason.

  • The Chargers cut Shenault from their practice squad Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the Chargers signed running back Ezekiel Elliott to their practice squad. Shenault will now have to look for his next opportunity to make an impression elsewhere.
