Gay agreed to a one-year deal with the Dolphins on Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. After signing with the Dolphins, Gay will play for his third team in just as many seasons. The Mississippi State product appeared in 15 games with the Saints in 2024, recording a pair of sacks among his 28 total tackles while also forcing a fumble across 259 defensive snaps. He's likely to compete for a depth role in Miami's linebacker corps throughout training camp and the preseason.

Gay (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. Gay popped up on the injury report Thursday due to a shoulder issue and finished the week with a pair of limited practice sessions. The Saints have long been eliminated from playoff contention, so there wasn't much motivation to have Gay suit up at less than 100 percent. The veteran linebacker will finish the campaign with 28 tackles (19 solo), two sacks, three pass breakups, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries over 15 games. He'll be a free agent at the conclusion of the campaign.

Gay (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bucs, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Gay was added to the injury report Thursday, getting in a pair of limited practices to close out the week. A part-time linebacker for New Orleans, Gay has 28 tackles (19 solo), including 2.0 sacks, three pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble across 15 games this season.

Gay (hand) has been ruled out ahead of Monday's game against the Chiefs, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Gay injured his hand in Week 4 against the Falcons, and he won't suit up Monday after failing to participate in practice all week. D'Marco Jackson played with the Saints' first-team defense in Week 4 in the absence of Demario Davis, and the former could slide into Gay's starting role for Monday's contest.

Gay is questionable to return to Sunday's game against Atlanta due to a hand injury, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Gay recorded two tackles (one solo) before injuring his hand in the first quarter of Sunday's game. Anfernee Orji should see an uptick in snaps on defense while Gay is sidelined.
