The Cardinals placed Gardeck (knee) on injured reserve Friday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Gardeck tore his ACL in the Cardinals' Week 7 win over the Chargers, so his shift to IR comes as no surprise. Arizona will now be without two of its top edge rushers in Gardeck and BJ Ojulari (knee) for the remainder of the season. Expect Julian Okwara and Xavier Thomas to both see increased work on the Cardinals' defense going forward.

Gardeck sustained a torn ACL during Monday's 17-15 win over the Chargers, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Gardeck exited the second half of the game with the injury, and with the edge rusher confirmed to have suffered ligament damage to his knee, he'll miss the rest of the season. Through Arizona's first seven games, Gardeck had notched three sacks to go with 22 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble. Julian Okwara is the most likely candidate to move into the starting lineup at outside linebacker in place of Gardeck.

Gardeck (finger) practiced in full Thursday. Gardeck was limited in Wednesday's session due to a finger injury, but he appears to be good to go for Sunday's game against Washington. Gardeck has 10 tackles (eight solo), including 3.0 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble over his last two games.

Gardeck (finger) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports. Gardeck will have two more chances to practice in a larger capacity ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders. He's accrued 10 tackles (eight solo), including 3.0 sacks, one pass defended, one interception and one forced fumble over his last two games.

Gardeck recorded six tackles, including 3.0 sacks, four tackles for loss and a forced fumble in Sunday's 41-10 win over the Rams. Gardeck loaded up the stat sheet as part of a dominant defensive showing by the Cardinals in Week 2. The 29-year-old earned a significant role last season for the first time in his six-year career, after primarily being a special-teams contributor. In his new role as a starter, the Sioux Falls product may be having a late-career breakout now that he's getting the opportunity to see the field more. He'll work to keep up the production in Week 3 against the Lions.
