Woods signed with the Falcons' practice squad Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports. Woods worked out for Atlanta on Friday and was able to turn the workout into an opportunity with the team. The veteran linebacker has played five NFL seasons, spending time with the Bears, Lions and the Cardinals since entering the league in 2019. Last season in 11 contests for Arizona, he recorded 61 total tackles, 0.5 sacks and forced a fumble.

Arizona placed Woods (abdomen) on injured reserve Wednesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Woods played at least 96 percent of the Cardinals' defensive snaps each of the past three weeks, but he is reportedly dealing with a core muscle injury, per Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com. Arizona is out of playoff contention, so Woods' won't be eligible to play again this season. He finishes the campaign with a career-high 61 tackles (33 solo), including 0.5 sacks, along with a deflected pass and a forced fumble over 11 contests.

Woods was limited in practice Friday due to a back injury, and he's been deemed questionable for Sunday's Week 7 game in Seattle, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Woods logged a full practice session both Wednesday and Thursday, so the back issue appears to be new. The veteran linebacker logged a season-high six tackles last week against the Rams in his second contest following a three-week absence due to an ankle injury. If Woods misses Week 7, Krys Barnes and/or Ezekiel Turner could see increased snaps.

Woods (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Woods drew the questionable tag after logging back-to-back limited practice sessions to close out the week. He returned in Week 5 against the Bengals after missing the previous three contests with an ankle injury and registered five tackles (three solo) while playing 65 defensive snaps.

Woods (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's tilt against the Rams, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Woods logged limited workloads in consecutive days to close out the week after seemingly picking up an ankle injury at practice. His status for Week 6 will depend on how he is feeling closer to kickoff.Krys Barnes and Owen Pappoe would be candidates to replace him at weakside linebacker if he is ultimately unable to go.
