Whiteheart reverted to the Browns' practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log. The Wake Forest product was elevated to Cleveland's active roster ahead of Thursday night's win over the Steelers to ensure depth at tight end with Geoff Swaim (concussion) sidelined. Whiteheart caught his only target for 29 yards across 16 total snaps (nine offensive and seven on special teams). He could be elevated to the Browns' active roster again for the Week 13 matchup against the Broncos if Swaim remains in concussion protocol.

Whiteheart secured his only target for 29 yards in Thursday's 24-19 win over the Steelers in Week 12. Whiteheart, who was elevated from the practice squad, was surprisingly on the receiving end of Cleveland's longest play. He managed to make a twisting, juggling catch in the snowy conditions on the first play of a drive that led to the Browns taking a lead. Whiteheart was moved to the active roster with Geoff Swaim (concussion) inactive.

Whiteheart signed with the Browns' practice squad Thursday. Cleveland waived Whiteheart on Tuesday, but now he's back with the franchise as a member of its practice squad. The Wake Forest product had three catches for 13 yards and a touchdown in four games this season while David Njoku was tending to an ankle injury.

Whiteheart caught all three of his targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-16 loss to Las Vegas. Whiteheart capped Cleveland's first drive of the game with a one-yard touchdown grab, the first of his career. He was targeted twice on the 15-play drive and wound up being more productive than starter Jordan Akins, who caught one of two targets for 10 yards. Until David Njoku (ankle) is ready to play, Whiteheart and Akins could split red-zone looks.

Cleveland signed Whiteheart from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports. Whiteheart was elevated from the practice squad for Week 2 against the Jaguars, during which he played 22 snaps on offense without drawing a target. With David Njoku (ankle) ruled out for a second straight week, Whiteheart will join the active roster and serve as the No. 2 tight end behind Jordan Akins for Sunday's game against the Giants.
