  The Eagles waived Thompson-Robinson on Sunday. Thompson-Robinson was acquired by the Eagles in March, and he entered training camp competing against rookie sixth-rounder Kyle McCord for the QB3 job behind Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee. Thompson-Robinson didn't get much run across two preseason games, completing 10 of 16 passes for 73 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception while rushing for zero yards on two carries. He may have been a candidate to stick around on the practice squad up until the Eagles' acquisition of Sam Howell from the Vikings on Sunday. Assuming he clears waivers, Thompson-Robinson will look to catch on with a team in need of a quarterback, though the 2023 fifth-rounder is more likely to land on a team's practice squad rather than a 53-man roster heading into the 2025 regular season.

• Eagles' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Unimpressive in Saturday's start

  Thompson-Robinson completed five of eight passes for 17 yards and an interception in Saturday's 22-13 preseason loss to the Browns. Facing the team that selected him in the fifth round of the 2023 Draft, Thompson-Robinson got the start but split drives with 2025 sixth-round pick Kyle McCord as the game progressed. Neither quarterback was able to get much going -- the Eagles had only 88 yards of total offense on the afternoon, and one of their two touchdowns came on a pick-six by rookie safety Andrew Mukuba. DTR isn't going to unseat Jalen Hurts or Tanner McKee at the top of the depth chart, and his hold on the No. 3 spot could be tenuous if Philly views McCord as the better developmental project.

• Eagles' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Dealt to Philly

  Thompson-Robinson and a 2025 fifth-round pick were traded to the Eagles on Monday in exchange for Kenny Pickett, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. The 2023 fifth-round pick appeared in 15 games (five starts) for the Browns over the past two seasons, completing 121 of his 230 pass attempts for 880 yards, one touchdown and 10 interceptions. Additionally, Thompson-Robinson rushed for 187 yards on 35 attempts. The 25-year-old now gets a fresh start in Philadelphia, where he's expected to sit behind Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee, serving as the team's No. 3 quarterback.

• Browns' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Gets one drive in finale

  Thompson-Robinson completed two of three passes for 13 yards and rushed twice for three yards in Saturday's 35-10 loss to the Ravens in Week 18. Thompson-Robinson entered for Cleveland's third drive of the game after starter Bailey Zappe threw a pick-six on the second possession. That was it for DTR, who had started and played fully in both of the Browns' two previous games. Cleveland's quarterback situation heading into the offseason is a mess, and it's safe to assume Thompson-Robinson will not be part of the solution in 2025. He completed 52 percent (61-of-118) of passes and threw six interceptions over seven games in 2024.

• Browns' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Won't start Saturday

  Thompson-Robinson (calf) doesn't have a designation for Saturday's game against the Ravens and will move into a backup role behind Bailey Zappe, who will draw the start at quarterback in the season finale, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. That said, Cabot notes that Thompson-Robinson, who went 0-2 while starting the Browns' previous two games, is also expected to get some playing time versus Baltimore, based on head coach Kevin Stefanski's comments from earlier this week. Thompson-Robinson had been managing a calf issue, but he seems to have cleared up most of the concern about his health by being a full participant in Thursday's practice.
