• Vikings' Jordan Mason: Does little with 10 carries

  Mason gained 29 rushing yards on 10 carries during Sunday night's 34-26 win over the Cowboys. Mason played 36 percent of the offensive snaps in Week 15, again working behind Aaron Jones (58 percent), who was also quiet versus Dallas with just 12 carries for 34 yards. While Mason was not targeted a single time, Jones continues to contribute as a pass-catcher, securing all three of his targets for 31 yards. Mason warrants less fantasy consideration than Jones, and neither are necessarily in the mix as more than flex options, but both RBs will face a plus matchup on the road against the Giants in Week 16.

  Aaron Jones (shoulder) could play in Week 14 against Washington, but if he's out, then Mason should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy running back in the majority of leagues. In four starts for Jones earlier this season, Mason averaged 14.5 PPR points, and he scored four touchdowns over that span. The Commanders are No. 3 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and nine guys this season have scored at least 13 PPR points against Washington, including three in a row. I might use Mason as a flex even if Jones is active since he'll be playing at less than 100 percent.

• Vikings' Jordan Mason: Takes over for injured starter

  Mason took six carries for 47 yards while catching his only target for one yard in Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Seahawks. Mason took over lead-back duties after starter Aaron Jones (shoulder) exited the contest early in the second half. The 26-year-old Mason finished as Minnesota's leading rusher after gashing Seattle's defense on limited opportunities. It is currently unclear if Jones will be forced to miss any time with the shoulder injury, but fantasy managers should monitor the situation after Mason thrived in the starter's absence earlier in the schedule. Minnesota's backup averaged 15.0 carries for 70.5 yards with four touchdowns scored in four spot-starts spanning Weeks 3 through 7. If Jones were to miss next Sunday's matchup against Washington, then Mason would instantly become a hot waiver target in Week 14.

• Vikings' Jordan Mason: Gets six touches to Jones' 19

  Mason rushed six times for 45 yards and a touchdown and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Bears. Mason didn't get many opportunities as the Vikings played catch-up for most of the game, so superior pass catcher Aaron Jones out-touched Mason 19-6. Mason made the most of his limited chances, breaking free for a 16-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. With Jones operating as the top option in Minnesota's backfield heading into a Week 12 trip to Green Bay, Mason may not get many carries against the stout Packers run defense.
