Trice (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Trice suffered the injury in Sunday's win over the Chargers and had already been ruled out for Week 4 against the Colts. He'll now officially be guaranteed to miss the next four weeks and won't be eligible to return until Week 8 against the Giants. In his absence, Darius Rush may see extra reserve snaps behind starters Joey Porter and Donte Jackson at corner.

Trice is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Chargers due to a hamstring injury, Burt Lauten of the Steelers' official site reports. Trice sustained the hamstring injury in the first quarter of Sunday's game. With Darius Rush (coach's decision) inactive, James Pierre will be the primary backup at corner for the rest of Sunday's contest behind Donte Jackson and Joey Porter if Trice doesn't return.

Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Trice (groin) could suit up for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Falcons, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. Trice, a 2023 seventh-round pick, missed his entire rookie campaign due to a ruptured ACL sustained last August, but he's currently listed as dealing with a groin injury. Wednesday's first official practice report of the regular season will shed more light on Trice's chances of making his NFL debut during Sunday's road opener against Atlanta.

Trice (knee) is back with the Steelers as he continues to rehab from a torn ACL, Curt Popejoy of USA Today reports. Trice's injury was previously unknown, but it's now been confirmed the 2023 seventh-round pick out of Purdue suffered a torn ACL back in August. The rookie cornerback impressed throughout the summer and was well on his way to making Pittsburgh's 53-man roster before his injury.

The Steelers selected Trice in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 241st overall. Trice broke out as a senior at Purdue, though he shifted from safety to corner early on and also suffered a series of injuries in 2021. He relies primarily on his size and natural ability to disrupt opposing wide receivers and quarterbacks, and his lack of polish may have led to his slide in the draft. Trice will join a crowded cornerback room in Pittsburgh, but he could immediately chip in on special teams.
