  Nix completed 20 of 35 passes for 246 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Steelers. He added four rushes for 25 yards. Nix struggled throughout the game, as he ended the first half with only seven completions for 39 yards. He picked up his performance a bit in the final two quarters, though he threw a key pick in the end zone halfway through the third quarter, significantly changing the momentum of a two-possession deficit. Nix's line also benefitted from a 49-yard completion that came on a trick play two calls earlier. Nix has had a tough start to his pro career, failing to throw a touchdown across two games while being picked off four times. He's also averaging only 5.0 yards per attempt.

  Nix completed 26 of 42 pass attempts for 138 yards and two interceptions while rushing five times for 35 yards and the first touchdown of his NFL career in Sunday's 26-20 loss to Seattle. Nix was named the Broncos' starter earlier this week and punched in his first score as a pro late in Sunday's comeback attempt against the Seahawks. The 12th overall pick also threw two interceptions while averaging just 3.3 yards per attempt, resulting in a poor fantasy performance. Nix's ability as a runner is what gives him value for those in 2QB formats, but there are likely safer options in standard leagues.

  I'm looking forward to seeing what Nix can do in his rookie campaign, and he landed with the right coach in Sean Payton. I don't expect Nix to post dominant stats, but he could prove to be a reliable No. 2 Fantasy quarterback in 14-team leagues.

  Nix won't play in Sunday's preseason finale against the Cardinals, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. With Nix being held out of the team's final exhibition game, coach Sean Payton relayed that Jarrett Stidham will start Sunday and play 8-12 snaps, after which Zach Wilson will get an extended look, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. The next game action Nix will see comes Sept. 8, when he's scheduled to start against the Seahawks in Week 1. The No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft was officially named Denver's starting quarterback following Wednesday's practice.

  Head coach Sean Payton announced Wednesday that Nix will open the regular season as Denver's starting quarterback, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. Nix began the offseason in a competition with Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson for the starting gig, but after a strong preseason, the rookie will officially line up under center Week 1 on the road against Seattle. The 12th overall pick boasts five years of experience as a collegiate starter and could adapt to the speed of the NFL quicker than the typical rookie quarterback, especially given that his short-field accuracy makes him a perfect fit for Payton's offensive scheme. In last Sunday's preseason win over Green Bay, Nix completed eight of nine passes for 80 yards, including a two-yard touchdown throw to Tim Patrick. Per Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette, Payton hasn't yet decided whether Nix and the Broncos' other starters will play in Sunday's exhibition finale against Arizona.
