Davis-Price was waived by the Eagles on Tuesday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Davis-Price rattled off 118 rushing yards on 22 carries while also returning a kickoff for 26 yards during the preseason with Philadelphia. The running back ultimately didn't do enough to earn a spot on the initial 53-man roster, but if he clears waivers, he'll likely return to the Eagles' practice squad.

Davis-Price carried the ball 12 times for 56 yards in Saturday's 26-3 preseason loss to the Vikings. The former 49er handled six straight carries to begin the Eagles' opening drive but fumbled the sixth, marring what was otherwise a solid performance in the team's preseason finale. Davis-Price isn't guaranteed a spot on the season-opening roster due to Saquon Barkley, Kenneth Gainwell and Will Shipley all seemingly having locked into jobs, but he could provide some injury insurance on the practice squad.

The Eagles signed Davis-Price to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Davis-Price, a 2022 third-round pick drafted by the 49ers, signed the largest reserve/future contract in the league per his agency Elite Loyalty Sports, which could be notable for his chances of sticking on the roster through the offseason. In his lone cameo for San Francisco last season, Davis-Price carried the ball six times for 21 yards.
