  • Washington caught his only target for 14 yards during Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Seahawks. Washington appeared in Weeks 3 and 5 but operated exclusively on special teams. He saw his first career offensive snaps during garbage time of Sunday's blowout loss and secured his lone target from fellow rookie Michael Penix. Washington remains behind Drake London, Darnell Mooney, Ray-Ray McCloud and KhaDarel Hodge on Atlanta's wideout depth chart.

  • Washington (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. Washington's NFL regular-season debut will be put on hold after he was a healthy scratch for Week 1. The Falcons elevated Chris Blair from their practice squad Saturday. Blair will join Ray-Ray McCloud and KhaDarel Hodge as depth wideouts behind Drake London and Darnell Mooney versus Pittsburgh.

  • Washington secured three of nine targets for 27 yards in the Falcons' 20-13 preseason loss to the Dolphins on Friday night. He also recovered a fumble. While he posted an inefficient line overall, Washington was the subject of plenty of attention from the Falcons' quarterbacks while garnering team-high reception and target totals. The rookie sixth-round pick was the beneficiary of so much opportunity thanks in large part to Drake London, Darnell Mooney and Ray-Ray McCloud all being held out of action, but Washington should still get an opportunity to make his case for a roster spot during the Falcons' second exhibition game against the Ravens on Aug. 17.

  • The Falcons selected Washington in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 187th overall. Atlanta double-dipped on skill position depth in the sixth round, taking Alabama running back Jase McClellan and Illinois' Washington with back-to-back picks. Washington was not a lock to be drafted and did not receive a combine invite. An older prospect at 23 years old, he did not have a receiving touchdown until his fifth year in college. At his pro day, he ran a 4.46 in the 40 and had a strong 39.5-inch vertical jump. Washington does not have an obvious top-end trait that would portend a starting role in the NFL.
