• Chiefs' Spencer Shrader: Misses practice with hamstring injury

  Shrader didn't practice Tuesday due to a right hamstring injury, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports. According to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com, Shrader injured his hamstring in a private workout Monday. After being signed off the Jets' practice squad earlier this month, Shrader has handled kicking duties for Kansas City in place of the injured Harrison Butker (knee) for the past two games, converting on all nine of his kicks (six extra-point attempts, three field-goal tries). With the hamstring injury now putting Shrader's status in question for Friday's game against the Raiders, the Chiefs signed Matthew Wright to their practice squad Tuesday. Wright will presumably be elevated from the practice squad and serve as Kansas City's kicker this week if Shrader can't play.

  Shrader made all of his three field-goal tries and converted all of his three extra-point attempts during Sunday's 30-27 win at Carolina. Among Shrader's field goals in Week 12 was a 31-yarder as time expired to win the game for the Chiefs. He hasn't missed a kick since he took over at the position for Kansas City in Week 11, and he'll be looking to build on his success in Week 13 versus the Raiders.

  Coach Andy Reid said Shrader will handle all kicking duties for the Chiefs during Harrison Butker's (knee) absence, Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com reports. Butker underwent surgery on the meniscus in his left knee Friday, resulting in his placement on injured reserve. As such, he'll miss at least four games during his recovery, a stretch that will allow Shrader to be the team's regular placekicker. Shrader has appeared in two games as a fill-in for the Colts and Jets this season, connecting on both field-goal attempts and all three point-after tries.

  The Chiefs are expected to sign Shrader off the Jets' practice squad Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. With Harrison Butker suffering a left knee injury that will likely result in his placement on injured reserve, Shrader is poised to take over as Kansas City's kicker beginning with Sunday's game against the Bills. An undrafted rookie out of Notre Dame, Shrader has previously made one appearance apiece for the Colts and the Jets this season, converting on field-goal attempts for 45 and 25 yards while going 3-for-3 on extra-point tries. During his five-year collegiate career, Shrader knocked down 68.3 percent of his field goals and had a long of 54 yards.

• Jets' Spencer Shrader: Handling kicking duties in Week 10

  The Jets elevated Shrader from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's matchup versus Arizona, John Pullano of the team's official site reports. Shrader's elevation Saturday confirms that he will work as the Jets' placekicker Sunday. After being signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent in May, Shrader served as Indianapolis' kicker Week 1, making all three of his extra-point tries and not attempting any field goals. The Notre Dame product was eventually cut loose once Matt Gay returned to full health for the Colts, then landed with New York's practice squad Oct. 30. He'll now get the opportunity to kick in his second NFL game as a replacement for Riley Patterson, who was cut by New York on Friday after kicking in the team's Week 9 win over Houston. Greg Zuerlein (knee) has been the Jets' kicker most of the season, but he's made just nine of 15 field-goal attempts on the campaign and is slated to miss at least three more games while on injured reserve.
