• Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Showcases big-play ability

  Thomas recorded two receptions on four targets for 94 yards in Sunday's 18-13 loss to the Browns. Gabe Davis and Brenton Strange surprisingly led the Jaguars in targets, but Thomas made the most of his two catches to lead the team in yardage. He recorded two of the team's four longest gains from scrimmage, first with a 66-yard catch late in the third quarter. Thomas followed that up with a 28-yard reception to set Jacksonville up with a chance to win the game in the final seconds. Thomas has seen four targets in each of his first two games. That's modest volume, though he's already clearly displayed his big-play ability and can rack up fantasy points even with limited opportunity.

  Thomas brought in all four targets for 47 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 20-17 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. Thomas finished as the team leader in receptions and tied for first in targets as well while qualifying as the runner-up in receiving yards. The explosive rookie also recorded his first NFL touchdown on an impressive catch against standout cornerback Jalen Ramsey from 14 yards out just past the midway point of the second quarter. Thomas already looks to have solid chemistry with Trevor Lawrence, but he'll have another steep challenge against the Browns' talented secondary Week 2.

  This game should be a high-scoring affair with an expected point total of 49 points, according to Las Vegas, and the Dolphins defense is missing several key players up front to limit their pass rush. I love the setup for Trevor Lawrence, and Christian Kirk and Evan Engram should be considered starters in all leagues. Thomas is a good option in three-receiver leagues, but he can also be considered a flex in deeper formats. There could be several big plays in Week 1 for this talented rookie.

  Thomas brought in his only target for 38 yards in Friday's 31-0 preseason win over Atlanta. Thomas played on a pair of offensive drives, both of which came with Trevor Lawrence. Though he was targeted only once, Thomas did showcase his big-play ability while making a long catch before turning up the field to pick up an additional 20 yards. He has seemingly cemented himself as a starting outside receiver opposite Gabe Davis with Christian Kirk operating primarily out of the slot heading into a Week 1 matchup against Miami.

  Thomas brought in his only target for 14 yards in the Jaguars' 20-7 preseason win over the Buccaneers on Saturday night. The rookie first-round pick recorded his one grab on the second possession, a 17-play drive that culminated in a touchdown. Thomas is averaging 27.5 yards per catch on his two preseason grabs thus far, and it remains to be seen if he'll receive any playing time in the road preseason finale against the Falcons on Friday night.
