• Jaguars' Brian Thomas: Appealing trade target for number of teams

  Thomas "has been the area of interest for a lot of other teams" leading up to the Nov. 10 trade deadline, Ian Rapoport of ESPN reports. Since delivering an 87-1,282-10 receiving line over 17 games as a rookie in 2024, Thomas' production has cratered in the ensuing two seasons. He's been firmly behind fellow wideouts Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers (hamstring/ankle) in terms of snap share through the Jaguars' first seven games of 2026 and has drawn more than three targets in just one of those contests. Though the vertical threat Thomas presents makes him an appealing target for teams seeking a big-play receiver ahead of the deadline, Rapoport acknowledges that it's unclear if the Jaguars have much motivation to move him. Despite his declining role within the Jacksonville offense, Thomas remains under contract through next season at relatively modest cap hits of $4.01 million in 2026 and $4.66 million in 2027.

  Thomas caught one of two targets for a 12-yard touchdown in Sunday's 42-7 win over the Colts. Thomas got the scoring started against Indianapolis, securing a red-zone touchdown with 5:30 left in the opening quarter. With the Jaguars throttling the Colts, Trevor Lawrence dropped back just 17 times all afternoon. On 17 pass attempts between Lawrence (14) and Quinn Ewers (three), 11 different Jaguars drew at least one target. Through seven games this season, Thomas has 10 catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns on 22 targets. A low catch rate and diminished snaps have led to Thomas' name being circulated in trade rumors 10 days ahead of the trade deadline.

  Thomas failed to catch any of his three targets in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Eagles. Getting the ball to Parker Washington was once again was the primary focus for Trevor Lawrence, as the fourth-year wideout popped for a 6-124-2 line on nine targets, and Thomas didn't do anything with the little volume he got to prove he should be a bigger part of the game plan. Thomas has gotten three targets ore fewer in four of five games to begin the season, leading to a meager 9-105-1 line on 18 targets, and there's little reason to expect a breakout in Week 6 against the Texans.

  Thomas secured both targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 22-17 win over the Bengals on Sunday. Thomas was a minimal part of the air attack once again, but that description also applied to fellow wideouts Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington as the Bengals did an effective job taking away Trevor Lawrence's primary targets. However, the Thomas was able to break through with what turned out to be a key score, as he recorded a seven-yard scoring grab late in the first half in a game that was ultimately decided by five points. Thomas still has a modest nine receptions for 105 yards and Sunday's touchdown on 15 targets as the Jaguars head across the pond to face the Eagles in London in Week 5.

  Thomas secured his only target for eight yards in the Jaguars' 35-6 win over the Patriots on Sunday. Thomas' minimal role in the Jaguars' air attack was glaring on a day when Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes. All of Jakobi Meyers, Parker Washington, Brenton Strange, Josh Cameron and LeQuint Allen outpaced Thomas with at least one aspect of their receiving lines, the latter has a modest 7-88-0 line on 12 targets over the first three games of the campaign. Given the complementary role he seems to have fallen into, Thomas' prospects are generally dim heading into a Week 4 road matchup against the Bengals next Sunday.
