  The Broncos signed Lewis to their practice squad Saturday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports. Lewis will rejoin the team after having been let go from the active roster Thursday. The 41-year-old could provide additional depth at tight end if the team elevates him for a game.

  The Broncos waived Lewis on Thursday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. After being signed to the active roster Dec. 6 and playing 28 offensive snaps in the Week 14 win over the Raiders, the Broncos have opted to cut ties with the 41-year-old Lewis. The jettisoning of Lewis may be a signal Nate Adkins (knee) is close to making a return. Lewis will now go on waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, the 2006 first-round pick will once again be a free agent.

  The Broncos signed Lewis to the active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders, Eric DiLalla of the team's official site reports. Lewis was elevated from the practice squad three consecutive times before the Broncos' Week 13 bye, and he now must be signed to the active roster to continue to play for the team. The veteran tight end has been primarily used as a blocker, seeing 38 offensive snaps through three games as a replacement for tight ends Nate Adkins (knee) and Lucas Krull (foot). The Bronocs waived linebacker Garret Wallow in a corresponding move to make room for Lewis on the active roster, and the tight end will likely remain there until either Adkins or Krull can return to the field.

  Lewis reverted to Denver's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Lewis got his third straight elevation for Sunday's Week 12 win over the Chiefs. He played 12 of the Broncos' 62 offensive snaps, working as the team's No. 3 tight end. Lewis didn't see any targets in the victory, which isn't a surprise since he's used mainly as a blocker. Denver would need to sign Lewis to the active roster for him to suit up again, as he's reached the maximum number of elevations for the campaign.

  The Broncos elevated Lewis from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Luca Evans of The Denver Post reports. It's the third consecutive week that the veteran tight end has been elevated to the active roster, and he will be available for Sunday's game against the Chiefs as the Broncos' TE3 behind Evan Engram and Adam Trautman. Lewis didn't see a target from Bo Nix through his first two appearances with Denver.
