Blake Grupe K | NO
Saints' Blake Grupe: Logs one field-goal try Week 7
Grupe connected on his only field-goal attempt and his only extra-point try during Thursday's 33-10 loss versus Denver.
The Saints' offense struggled due to starting quarterback Derek Carr being sidelined for the second week in a row. New Orleans scored 27 points during the second quarter of last week's loss to Tampa Bay, but it's scored just 10 points in seven other quarters over the last two games. Nevertheless, Grupe has converted all 11 of his field-goal tries through seven contests this season, and his only misses have come on two of 20 PATs. Grupe will look to remain perfect from the field when the Saints take on the Chargers on Sunday, Oct. 27.

Matthew Wright K | SF
49ers' Matthew Wright: Officially placed on IR
The 49ers placed Wright (shoulder/back) on injured reserve Saturday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Wright injured his shoulder and back in Week 6 against the Seahawks as he stepped in as the starting placekicker for Jake Moody (ankle). Anders Carlson was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, and he is expected to be the 49ers' placekicker for as long as Wright and Moody are sidelined. Wright must miss at least the next four games, and the earliest he could return is Week 12 against the Packers on Nov. 24.

Anders Carlson K | NYJ
49ers' Anders Carlson: Elevated to active roster
Carlson was elevated to the active roster Saturday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
This was presumed with the injuries to both Jake Moody (ankle) and Matthew Wright (shoulder/back) in consecutive weeks. Carlson was one of the league's worst kickers during the 2023 regular season in terms of extra-point conversion (34 of 39), and he also missed six of his 13 field-goal attempts from 40-plus yards out for the Packers. It'll be interesting to see if the second-year kicker can correct those issues with his second lease on life in the NFL.

49ers' Anders Carlson: To be elevated Saturday
The 49ers are expected to elevate Carlson from the practice squad Saturday in advance of Sunday's contest against the Chiefs, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
San Francisco lost Jake Moody to a right high-ankle sprain Week 5 and Matthew Wright to shoulder and back injuries Week 6. The former is in line to miss about one month, while the latter is slated to be placed on injured reserve Saturday, setting up Carlson to be the team's placekicker Sunday and likely a few more contests after that. A sixth-round pick of the Packers in 2023, Carlson got just one campaign as the regular kicker in Green Bay due to frequent misses (27-for-33 on FGAs, 34-for-39 on PATs in 17 regular-season games) and didn't win a job battle out of training camp. He'll have a chance to bounce back working in conjunction with the 49ers offense.

49ers' Matthew Wright: Out Sunday, likely going to IR
Wright (shoulder/back) has been ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Chiefs.
Working in place of Jake Moody (ankle) in Week 6 at Seattle, Wright emerged from the game with shoulder and back injuries that didn't allow him to practice Wednesday through Friday. Per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle, the 49ers are expected to place Wright on injured reserve Saturday and subsequently elevate Anders Carlson from the practice squad. Considering Moody is expected to be out about one month, Carlson presumably will get a few chances to serve as the 49ers' regular placekicker.

Jake Moody K | SF
49ers' Jake Moody: Out again in Week 7
Moody (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Moody sustained a right high-ankle sprain Week 5 against the Cardinals, and coach Kyle Shanahan said afterward that the kicker would require roughly a month to recover from the injury. Consequently, it's no surprise that Moody is missing a second game in a row, and the 49ers will be using a third kicker in as many contests this weekend after Matthew Wright emerged from Week 6 with shoulder and back issues that will require an IR stint. Anders Carlson, who is on San Francisco's practice squad, is lined up to handle placekicking duties Sunday and potentially beyond that point.

Tyler Bass K | BUF
Bills' Tyler Bass: Set to kick Sunday
Coach Sean McDermott confirmed Friday that Bass will handle the Bills' kicking duties Sunday against the Titans, Maddy Glab of the team's official site reports.
Though the Bills signed Lucas Havrisik to their practice squad Thursday, the team will stick with Bass this weekend. Through six games to date, Bass -- who has been Buffalo's kicker since 2020 -- has gone 9-for-12 on field-goal tries and made 18 of his 20 extra-point attempts.

Wil Lutz K | DEN
Broncos' Wil Lutz: Continues perfect streak
Lutz made all four of his field-goal attempts while also converting all three of his extra-point tries in Thursday's 33-10 win over the Saints.
Lutz connected on field goals from 32, 38, 46 and 52 yards out Thursday in what was ultimately a blowout win over New Orleans. The veteran kicker was responsible for 15 of the Broncos 33 points in the contest, and has now made all but one kick this season. Lutz boasts an impressive 94 percent field-goal percentage through seven games, ranking him as one of the league's top kickers. The 30-year-old could see several opportunities in scoring range when Denver squares off against Carolina's vulnerable defense in Week 8.

Matthew Wright K | SF
49ers' Matthew Wright: Misses practice Thursday
Wright (shoulder/back) did not participate at the 49ers' practice Thursday.
Wright was forced to miss a second straight practice to open the week as he tends to shoulder and back injuries. The kicker injured himself making a tackle in San Francisco's win over the Seahawks in Week 6 and his availability for Week 7 is now in question. Wright will look to return to practice Friday, but if he can't go Sunday against Kansas City, Anders Carlson will likely be elevated to the active roster in his place. Top placekicker Jake Moody (ankle) was also unavailable for Thursday's session and seems unlikely to go in Week 7.

Tyler Bass K | BUF
Bills' Tyler Bass: Job less safe
The Bills signed Lucas Havrisik to the practice squad Thursday, shortly after general manager Brandon Beane made some comments about Bass's recent struggles.
"We do have some kickers," Beane said earlier this week as reported by the Bills' official site. "We're gonna work them out this afternoon after practice," Beane said. "T-Bass would be the first to tell you it hasn't gone the way he would like it. And, quite frankly, the way we like it." Bass is a tolerable 9-for-12 on field goals, but his misses have been ugly, including a downright shank in Monday's win over the Jets that even a terrible golfer would find cringeworthy. He's also missed two extra points this season after being lock-solid on those throughout his career. The Bills do have a good scoring matchup this week as heavy favorites at home against the Titans, but Bass managers will want to take an extra peek at the roster over the weekend. Fortunately, the Bills play in the early wave of games Sunday following a string of heavy primetime appearances.
