Sam Darnold QB | SEA
Panthers' Sam Darnold: Sees more action than Newton
Darnold (shoulder) completed 15 of 32 passes for 190 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Panthers' 32-6 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also rushed once for 11 yards and fumbled once but recovered.
The embattled signal-caller saw his first action since Week 9 and ended up outpacing starter Cam Newton by 19 pass attempts overall. Coach Matt Rhule had indicated Darnold would see a fair share of snaps over the final three games, but his workload Sunday arguably exceeded initial projections for his Week 16 return. Neither Darnold nor Newton did anything to distinguish themselves in the ugly loss, however, and David Newton of ESPN.com reports that Rhule was non-committal following the game about the starter for a Week 17 road divisional clash against the Saints.

Zach Wilson QB | NO
Jets' Zach Wilson: Runs for 52-yard TD in win
Wilson completed 14 of 22 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown while rushing four times for 91 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-21 win over the Jaguars.
Wilson made one of the most exciting plays of his young NFL career in the first quarter, tiptoeing the sideline and making a pair of Jaguars defenders miss to get the Jets on the board with a 52-yard touchdown run. He didn't get much going as a passer while throwing to a depleted receiving corps, and Wilson threw consecutive incompletions from Jacksonville's two-yard line to turn it over on downs just before halftime. Wilson redeemed himself on another 4th-and-goal opportunity in the fourth quarter, putting the Jets up 23-15 with a one-yard touchdown pass to offensive lineman Conor McDermott. The rookie second-overall pick's 7:11 TD:INT is nothing to write home about, but Wilson has been quietly effective with his legs, scoring four rushing touchdowns in his last five games. His banged-up receiving corps and up-and-down play will make Wilson tough to trust in Week 17 against the Buccaneers.

Josh Johnson QB | CIN
Ravens' Josh Johnson: Plays admirably in spot start
Johnson completed 28 of 40 pass attempts for 304 yards, two touchdowns and one interception against Cincinnati on Sunday. He also rushed five times for 10 yards and committed two fumbles, recovering both.
The Ravens were blown out 41-21 and Johnson couldn't do much as a runner, but this is still a fairly impressive showing for a player who only joined the team Dec. 15. Given the short notice, brief practice time and general dysfunction around the Ravens, no one could have blamed Johnson if he had played much more poorly than this. It's not clear what the Week 17 situation might be for Lamar Jackson (ankle) or Tyler Huntley (illness) as the Ravens prepare to face the Rams.

Mac Jones QB | SF
Patriots' Mac Jones: Struggles continue in loss to Bills
Jones completed 14 of 32 passes for 145 yards and two interceptions in Sunday's 33-21 loss to the Bills. He added 33 yards on six rushing attempts.
Jones eclipsed the 19 passing yards he mustered against the Bills earlier this month, but the rookie wasn't much better in this one. He finished the first half just 5-for-13 with 47 yards and an interception, as the Patriots trailed 17-7 heading into the locker room. Damien Harris kept the team in it with three rushing touchdowns, but Jones continued to struggle through the air in the second half, fittingly snuffing out New England's slim comeback hopes with another interception on his final pass of the game. Jones has been a competent game manager most weeks while working in an ideal situation for a rookie quarterback, but he has struggled when called upon to play catch-up rather than nurse a lead. Luckily for Jones, the Patriots are unlikely to fall behind in Week 17 against the 2-13 Jaguars.

Tim Boyle QB | TEN
Lions' Tim Boyle: Late pick kills comeback attempt
Boyle completed 24 of 34 passes for 187 yards with one touchdown and one interception during Sunday's 20-16 loss to Atlanta.
Boyle performed much better than he did in his first career start Week 11 against Cleveland despite playing without both T.J. Hockenson (finger) and D'Andre Swift (shoulder). However, that's not saying much, and the game ended on a sour note after Boyle blew Detroit's comeback attempt by throwing a pick near Atlanta's goal line in the closing minutes of regulation. While it's not clear if Jared Goff (COVID-19) will gain medical clearance in the coming week, Boyle will remain far off the fantasy radar when Detroit travels to Seattle in Week 17.

Joe Burrow QB | CIN
Bengals' Joe Burrow: Enormous production
Burrow completed 37 of 46 pass attempts for 525 yards and four touchdowns against Baltimore on Sunday. He also rushed twice for 11 yards.
Burrow did almost whatever he wanted against a badly depleted Ravens secondary, propelling each of his three standout wide receivers to big fantasy production Sunday, especially Tee Higgins (12 receptions for 194 yards and two touchdowns) and Ja'Marr Chase (seven receptions for 125 yards). Burrow and the Bengals face a tougher matchup against the Chiefs in Week 17, but hopefully this monstrous breakout game helps the Bengals offense reach a new level of confidence as they make their playoff push.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Tosses three TDs to topple Patriots
Allen completed 30 of 47 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 33-21 win over New England. He added 64 yards on 12 rushing attempts.
Allen capped Buffalo's first drive with a three-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah McKenzie on fourth down, but he couldn't replicate that success on a 4th-and-goal attempt from the one-yard line in the second quarter, as he threw a third consecutive incompletion on a ball that bounced off Emmanuel Sanders. He bounced back later in the second quarter with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs, giving the Bills a 17-7 halftime lead. Allen's third touchdown of the afternoon was a two-yard strike to Dawson Knox, which completed the scoring and put the game away with 2:30 remaining in the fourth quarter. Buffalo's back in the driver's seat in the AFC East heading into a Week 17 game against Atlanta, and Allen's 34:12 TD:INT is among the leading reasons for the team's success.

Jalen Hurts QB | PHI
Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Pair of scoring tosses in win
Hurts completed 17 of 29 passes for 199 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Eagles' 34-10 win over the Giants on Sunday. He also rushed twice for seven yards and committed a fumble recovered by the offense.
Hurts' day -- and by extension, that of the entire Eagles offense -- began slowly in the first half before Philadelphia came alive on that side of the ball with some help from its defense over the final two quarters. Hurts did his part with a pair of scoring tosses to DeVonta Smith and offensive lineman Lane Johnson in the third and fourth quarter, respectively, his first multi-touchdown effort through the air since Week 10. Hurts also was very subdued on the ground while amassing his fewest rushing yards on the season by far, but he retains plenty of upside in that department heading into a Week 17 road battle at Washington that could be critical to both teams' playoff hopes.
-
Trevor Lawrence QB | JAC
Jaguars' Trevor Lawrence: Stuck on one TD in last eight games
Lawrence completed 26 of 39 passes for 280 yards without a touchdown or interception in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Jets. He added 37 yards on six rushing attempts and fumbled twice, losing one.
Lawrence was bailed out early in the second quarter, as he fumbled on the Jets' one-yard line but the ball was recovered by offensive lineman Will Richardson in the end zone for a Jacksonville touchdown. The rookie first overall pick racked up his highest passing yardage total since Week 6, but he came one yard short of leading his team to victory, as his 4th-and-goal incompletion from New York's one-yard line in the game's final seconds was the deciding play. This loss has the Jaguars in position to pick first overall for the second consecutive season, barring an upset win over the Patriots or Colts over the final two games. Lawrence will look to end his four-game touchdown drought at some point in those Week 17 and 18 contests.

Justin Fields QB | KC
Bears' Justin Fields: Sitting out in Week 16
Fields (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game in Seattle, Adam Hoge of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Fields emerged from last Monday's loss to the Vikings with an ankle injury that only allowed him to practice one time this past week. On Friday, coach Matt Nagy named Nick Foles as the Bears' Week 16 starter at quarterback with Andy Dalton (left hand/groin) ruled out and Fields' status in question. With Fields unavailable Sunday, Ryan Willis will serve as Foles' backup.
