  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Exits game in fourth quarter

Mahomes was replaced by Chad Henne in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Titans after being shook up by a hit that led to the QB being helped off the field, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

At first glance, this didn't look good for Mahomes, but he subsequently emerged from the medical tent and appeared to be okay. However, with Kansas City down by a score of 27-3, it's quite possible that Mahomes being removed from the contest was a precautionary move. Prior to his exit, Mahomes completed 20 of 35 passes for 206 yards and a pick while adding six carries for 35 yards. In any case, the star signal-caller's status is now worth monitoring as next Monday's game against the Giants approaches.

  • Zach Wilson QB | NO

Jets' Zach Wilson: Hurts knee Sunday

Wilson was forced out of Sunday's game against the Patriots with a knee injury.

With Wilson having headed to the locker room to have his knee checked out, Mike White has taken over the Jets' QB duties versus New England. Prior to his exit from the contest, Wilson completed six of his 10 passing attempts for 51 yards

  • Dak Prescott QB | DAL

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Should practice Wednesday

Prescott (calf) isn't expected to take part in the Cowboys' light practice session Monday following the team's Week 7 bye, but he should be back on the field Wednesday, Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network report.

Prescott is recovering from a right calf strain suffered on the final play of the Cowboys' 35-29 overtime win over the Patriots in Week 6, but a well-timed bye has left Dallas optimistic that the signal-caller will be ready to go for a Week 8 matchup with the Vikings on Halloween. The Cowboys' decision to withhold Prescott from Monday's session looks to be mostly precautionary, and so long as he's at least a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, fantasy managers shouldn't have too much concern about his Week 8 availability. The calf injury does increase the possibility that Prescott shuts down his involvement as a runner, but he's already taken a major step back in that area in 2021, perhaps as a result of the devastating leg injury that cost him most of the 2020 season. Through the Cowboys' first six games, Prescott is averaging a career-low 3.2 yards per carry (70 yards on 20 attempts) and has failed to score a touchdown on the ground after recording no fewer than three in any of his first five NFL seasons.

  • Football Team's Taylor Heinicke: Should remain starter through bye

Heinicke is expected to remain Washington's starting quarterback for at least the next two games with Ryan Fitzpatrick (hip) likely to stay on injured reserve through the Football Team's Week 9 bye, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

After Fitzpatrick was diagnosed with a right hip subluxation following his exit in the season-opening loss to the Chargers, Washington was hopeful the 38-year-old signal-caller could return for the Week 7 matchup in Green Bay, at the soonest. However, with Fitzpatrick still using crutches to get around and having yet to even resume practicing, Washington is preparing for him to miss additional time. Heinicke will thus get the starting nod against the Packers, and likely next week in Denver, so long as he performs well enough in Green Bay to hold off backup Kyle Allen for QB duties. After completing 69.5 percent of his passes for 8.1 yards per attempt and an 8:3 TD:INT through the first four games of the season, Heinicke has taken a big step back over the past two weeks (55 percent, 5.4 YPA, 1:3 TD:INT) to put his job security into question.

  • Nate Sudfeld QB | SF

49ers' Nate Sudfeld: Elevated to active roster

Sudfeld was elevated to the 49ers' active roster from the practice squad Saturday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Sudfeld was brought up to the active roster ahead of the 49ers' Week 5 matchup with the Cardinals to serve as Trey Lance's backup, as Jimmy Garoppolo (calf) was inactive. However, in Week 7, he will be serving as Garoppolo's backup with Lance (knee) sidelined.

  • Reid Sinnett QB | CIN

    Reid Sinnett: Waived by Miami

Sinnett was waived by the Dolphins on Saturday.

Sinnett was a healthy scratch for last week's loss to the Jaguars, and he'll now lose his spot on the roster. The 24-year-old hasn't yet made an appearance in the NFL.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Nearing pin removal

Wilson (finger) is expected to have the pin removed from his middle finger within the next week, Mike Garafolo of NFL.com reports.

Wilson initially carried a recovery timetable of 4-to-8 weeks after he underwent surgery to repair a ruptured tendon in his middle finger. However, the 32-year-old has a chance to return from injured reserve as early as Week 10, when Seattle plays the Packers on Nov. 14. Geno Smith should continue to serve as the Seahawks' starting quarterback while Wilson is sidelined.

  • Nick Mullens QB | JAC

Nick Mullens: Reverts to practice squad

Mullens has reverted to the Browns' practice squad per the NFL's transaction log.

Mullens was elevated to the Browns' active roster prior to Thursday's victory over the Broncos. He backed up Case Keenum, who was replacing Baker Mayfield (shoulder) under center. Though Mullens suited up, he didn't see any action on the field.

  • Trey Lance QB | LAC

    49ers' Trey Lance: Ruled out

Lance (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Colts, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Lance won't be available this week, but fellow quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been cleared to return from a calf injury. Both guys figure to contribute to the team this year, but Lance's Week 5 start against the Cardinals didn't exactly bolster his case for more playing time. The ankle injury also doesn't help, though it'll likely heal within the next few weeks. That said, Lance didn't practice at all this week.

  • Deshaun Watson QB | CLE

Texans' Deshaun Watson: Remains out Week 7

Watson (not injury-related) is listed as out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

As is expected to be the case all season while he remains a member of the Houston roster, Watson won't practice or play in games. Fantasy players in deeper leagues that have stashed Watson amid his string of continued absences could eventually be rewarded for their patience, however, as trade discussions involving the quarterback have reportedly picked up over the past week. John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported Wednesday that the Dolphins have "intensified their efforts" to acquire Watson, while Jeff Howe and Aaron Reiss of The Athletic reported the same day that the Texans have also held recent trade talks with the Eagles and the Panthers. The Nov. 2 trade deadline thus looms as an important date with regard to Watson's potential to play at any point in 2021.
