  • Bears' Justin Fields: Downplays hand issue

Fields, who underwent an X-ray on his right (throwing) hand after Sunday's 26-6 loss to the Browns, indicated afterward that he's fine, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com reports.

According to Fields, the X-Ray was precautionary, so the rookie QB's status for next Sunday's game against the Lions does not appear to be in any danger. Assuming that's the case, Fields will be a candidate to make his second straight straight start at QB for the Bears, with Andy Dalton's (knee) Week 4 status cloudy at this stage.

  • Justin Herbert QB | LAC

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Masterful in signature win

Herbert completed 26 of 38 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Chiefs. He also registered 16 yards on four carries.

The Chargers benefitted from a turnover-prone Chiefs offense as Herbert and company scored 20 points off miscues. The second-year quarterback has picked up right where he left off following his Rookie of the Year campaign in 2020, throwing for 951 yards and a sterling 6:3 TD:INT ratio through three contests while benefitting significantly from a new-look offense that seems designed to primarily move the ball through the air (just 21 designed runs Sunday). The emergence of Mike Williams (7-122-2 in Sunday's win) as a co-No. 1 wideout opposite Keenan Allen has been a revelation and given Herbert a key red-zone target that he simply didn't have last season. At this point, Herbert might simply be matchup-proof in terms of fantasy and certainly should be primed for another great outing next week against the vulnerable Raiders defense.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Tosses three TDs in road win

Burrow completed 14 of 18 passes for 172 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Steelers. He added seven yards on five rushing attempts.

Burrow was picked off in the first quarter, but Ben Roethlisberger gave it right back with an interception of his own, and Burrow capitalized with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd to open the scoring. After the Steelers tied it with 1:04 left before halftime, Burrow responded with a 34-yard strike to Ja'Marr Chase just 27 seconds later to take a 14-10 lead in the locker room. A nine-yard touchdown pass to Chase -- Burrow's fourth touchdown to the rookie receiver in three games -- extended the Bengals' lead to 24-7 in the third quarter. The defense held up from there, moving Cincinnati to 2-1 heading into Thursday's visit from the Jaguars for a Week 4 clash.

  • Browns' Baker Mayfield: So-so effort in Week 3 win

Mayfield completed 19 of 31 passes for 246 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Browns' 26-6 win over the Bears on Sunday. He also rushed four times for 31 yards.

While Mayfield's final numbers were certainly acceptable from a fantasy perspective and he didn't commit any turnovers, his actual on-field performance left something to be desired, particularly early, when he looked to be a bit wild and high with some throws. Mayfield did settle in as the game went on, despite taking five sacks from an aggressive Bears front, and he flashed solid chemistry with the debuting Odell Beckham (knee), who he connected with on five occasions and targeted nine times overall. The absence of the trusted Jarvis Landry (IR-knee) may have contributed to some of Mayfield's early struggles, and he'll look to put together a more even performance versus the vulnerable Vikings in a Week 4 road matchup.

  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Stellar performance in rout

Allen completed 32 of 43 passes for 358 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bills' 43-21 win over Washington on Sunday. He also rushed four times for nine yards and another score.

This was the breakout effort that both the Bills brass that had doled out the big offseason check and Allen's fantasy managers were waiting on from the fourth-year signal-caller. Allen was spectacular from early on against a Washington squad with a reputation for tough defense, racking up touchdown tosses of 28, seven and 14 yards to Emmanuel Sanders, Zack Moss and Dawson Knox, respectively, in the first half. Allen added another five-yard dart to Sanders in the third quarter before closing out Buffalo's scoring with a two-yard touchdown scamper. With his first MVP-caliber performance now under his belt, Allen will look to continue his ascent versus the vulnerable Texans in a Week 4 home battle.

  • Kyler Murray QB | MIN

Cardinals' Kyler Murray: Brings it home in second half

Murray completed 28 of 34 passes for 316 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in the Cardinals' 31-19 win over the Jaguars on Sunday. He also rushed seven times for 19 yards and another score.

Playing with a less-than-100-percent DeAndre Hopkins and facing a feisty Jaguars defense, Murray and the Cardinals offense struggled in the first half on their way to a 13-7 deficit at intermission. However, the MVP candidate picked it up in the second half and flashed a particularly impressive connection with A.J. Green, who came down with a team-high 36-yard grab on his way to a 112-yard afternoon. Murray's strong early season chemistry with Christian Kirk (7-104) also persisted, with the wideout helping make up for a lackluster showing by Hopkins and propelling Murray to his second game with at least 300 passing yards to open the season. The third-year star will look to make up for his first game without a touchdown pass in 2021 when Arizona travels to the Rams for a tough divisional showdown in Week 4.

  • Bears' Justin Fields: Disastrous outing

Fields completed six of 20 passes for 68 yards while rushing three times for 12 yards in the Bears' 26-6 loss to the Browns on Sunday.

Fields was under constant pressure as the Chicago offensive line was dominated by the Browns' pass rush, resulting in nine sacks and an inability of the Bears to sustain drives. With Andy Dalton (knee) possibly out again Week 4, it's conceivable that Fields could get another start in a much easier home matchup against the Lions in Week 4. If he does indeed start that game, a better assessment of his season-long fantasy value may be possible.

  • Lamar Jackson QB | BAL

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Limited to one TD in win

Jackson (illness) completed 16 of 31 passes for 287 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Lions. He added 58 yards on seven rushing attempts.

Jackson struggled for most of the first half, though a trio of costly drops by Marquise Brown certainly didn't help. He finally connected with a wide open Devin Duvernay in the back of the end zone for a 19-yard touchdown 3:15 before halftime to take a 10-0 lead into the break. Baltimore's offense moved the ball well in the second half but had to settle for field goals, including Justin Tucker's game-winning 66-yarder as time expired, which Jackson set up with a 36-yard pass to Sammy Watkins to convert 4th-and-19. Jackson's rushing production keeps his floor high, so he should remain a reliable fantasy option in Week 4 despite a difficult road matchup in Denver.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Pair of picks in home loss

Mahomes completed 27 of 44 passes for 260 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in the Chiefs' 30-24 loss to the Chargers on Sunday. He also rushed four times for 45 yards.

Kansas City has suffered a few Arrowhead Stadium losses during Mahomes' tenure as starting quarterback, and this latest one can be pinned partly on his shoulders. The star quarterback threw a particularly ill-timed interception off his back foot with the game knotted at 24-24 and 1:55 remaining, leading to what eventually would be the Chargers' game-winning touchdown. Mahomes' other pick came in the first quarter off a deflected pass and on an acrobatic snag by rookie Asante Samuel, while his three scores went into the hands of the unlikely trio of Jody Fortson, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Mecole Hardman. Mahomes and the Chiefs now will look to shake off a rare second consecutive loss and even their record in a road battle versus the Eagles in Week 4.

  • Lamar Jackson QB | BAL

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Avoids inactive list

Jackson (illness) is active for Sunday's game in Detroit, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.

There was never much doubt after a return to full practice participation Friday, though the Ravens did list Jackson as questionable on their final injury report. He gets one of his better matchups of the season, albeit with standout LT Ronnie Stanley (ankle) inactive for a second straight week. Jackson overcame Stanley's absence as well as a pair of interceptions in the Week 2 win over Kansas City, with his 16 carries for 107 yards and two TDs leading the Ravens to a narrow victory.
