Sam Ehlinger QB | DEN
Broncos' Sam Ehlinger: Emergency QB for Week 8
Ehlinger (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Broncos' emergency third quarterback against the Cowboys on Sunday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
As the emergency third quarterback, Ehlinger will see the field Sunday only in the event that both Bo Nix and Jarrett Stidham leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.

Anthony Richardson QB | IND
Colts' Anthony Richardson: Recovering from orbital surgery
Richardson underwent surgery Monday to repair his orbital fracture and could return from injured reserve later this season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The Colts haven't issued a timeline for Richardson's return from surgery, which he required after fracturing his orbital when he was hit in the eye by a piece of workout equipment prior to Indianapolis' Oct. 12 win over the Cardinals. Since Richardson was deactivated, rookie Riley Leonard has stepped in as the Colts' No. 2 quarterback behind starter Daniel Jones.

Sam Howell QB | PHI
Eagles' Sam Howell: Emergency third QB for Week 8
Howell (coach's decision) is inactive but will be available as the Eagles' emergency third quarterback against the Giants on Sunday.
As the emergency third quarterback, Howell is prohibited from playing in Week 8 unless Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee are both removed from Sunday's game due to injury, illness or ejection.

Jayden Daniels QB | WAS
Commanders' Jayden Daniels: Testing hamstring Sunday
Daniels will test his injured hamstring in workouts on Sunday, and the Commanders think he has a chance to return in Week 9 against the Seahawks, Jay Glazer reported on Fox NFL Sunday.
No matter how the testing unfolds, Daniels will still miss Monday night's game against the Chiefs, but he's made enough progress during the week to create some optimism for next week. Marcus Mariota will start on Monday night in Daniels' stead versus Kansas City.
-
Zach Wilson QB | MIA
Dolphins' Zach Wilson: Promoted to No. 2 QB
Wilson will back up Tua Tagovailoa during Sunday's game against the Falcons, with Quinn Ewers serving as the emergency No. 3 QB.
Wilson and Ewers switched roles last week, but the former had been the primary backup for the first six weeks of the season. Wilson has appeared in only one game this season, completing five of eight passes for 32 yards and rushing once for three yards across nine offensive snaps in Week 1.
-
Kirk Cousins QB | ATL
Falcons' Kirk Cousins: Starting in place of Penix
Cousins will start Sunday's game against the Dolphins with Michael Penix (knee) inactive, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
Penix came out of last Sunday's defeat in San Francisco with a bone bruise in his knee that limited him in practice Wednesday through Friday and resulted in a questionable tag for Week 8 action. Adam Schefter of ESPN then reported Saturday morning that Cousins likely was going to start for Penix, before reporting later Saturday that Cousins was in line to direct the Falcons offense this weekend. With Penix's lack of availability confirmed, Cousins will earn his first start since Week 15 of last season, but he'll be without top WR Drake London due to a hip injury.
-
Quinn Ewers QB | MIA
Dolphins' Quinn Ewers: Back to No. 3 QB
Ewers (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Falcons but will serve as the emergency third QB.
It's a role that the Texas product has played all season behind Tua Tagovailoa and Zach Wilson. However, Wilson and Ewers switched spots last week, only to revert to the usual order this week. Ewers would need Tagovailoa and Wilson to get sick, injured or ejected to have a chance to play. Ewers saw his first taste of action last week against Cleveland, completing five of eight passes for 53 yards.

Bryce Young QB | CAR
Panthers' Bryce Young: Inactive Sunday
Young (ankle) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Bills, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Young didn't return to last Sunday's win at the Jets after his right ankle was twisted while taking a sack late in the third quarter. He eventually was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain and unsurprisingly wasn't able to mix into drills this week before the Panthers listed him as doubtful for Week 8 action. On Friday, the team announced Andy Dalton as its starting quarterback for Sunday's game, per Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, and with Young officially unavailable, Hendon Hooker will serve as Carolina's backup signal-caller for at least one contest. Considering high-ankle sprains typically require multi-week absences, Young likely is in danger of sitting out next Sunday at Green Bay.
-
Jameis Winston QB | NYG
Giants' Jameis Winston: Emergency QB for Week 8
Winston (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Giants' emergency third quarterback for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports.
Winston will once again serve as the Giants' emergency quarterback. He'll only see the field Week 8 if both Jaxson Dart and Russell Wilson leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.
-
Tommy DeVito QB | NE
Patriots' Tommy DeVito: Emergency QB for Week 8
DeVito (coach's decision) will serve as the Patriots' inactive third quarterback for Sunday's game against the Browns.
DeVito will continue as the emergency third quarterback behind starter Drake Maye and backup Joshua Dobbs. DeVito will be permitted to see the field Sunday only in the event that both Maye and Dobbs are taken out of the game due to injury, illness or ejection.
