  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Struggles in loss to Rams

Wilson completed 11 of 27 passes for 174 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's 30-20 wild-card loss to the Rams. He also ran four times for 50 yards.

The Seahawks showed increased dysfunction toward the end of the season and specifically against the Rams. This was another prime example, and it was perhaps Wilson's worst game of the season. The 32-year-old quarterback threw a costly pick-six to Darious Williams in the second quarter, completed just 41 percent of his passes, and was sacked five times. Garbage time provided a slight boost to an otherwise putrid stat line, as he added 49 passing yards and a score in addition to 28 rushing yards on the second to last drive. Wilson appeared to be an MVP frontrunner to start the season, but he started slipping in the second half of the year and ultimately fell out of the race. Nevertheless, Wilson set career highs in touchdowns (40) and completion percentage (68.8) during the regular season, and his 4,212 passing yards were just eight yards short of a personal best. Both DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett will be returning next year as well, so the Seahawks' passing game is equipped to return to the early season pace.

  • Football Team's Taylor Heinicke: Getting spot start Saturday

Heinicke will start Saturday's wild-card game against the Buccaneers, Grant Paulsen of The Athletic reports.

With Alex Smith unable to play on his balky right calf, Heinicke will make his second appearance of the campaign. In the first one, Heinicke subbed in for the since jettisoned Dwayne Haskins in Week 16 against the Panthers, completing 12 of 19 passes for 137 yards and one touchdown while turning three carries into 22 yards. Heinicke will have a tougher task on his hands versus a Tampa Bay defense that racked up the fourth-most sacks (48, tied with the Cardinals) this season.

  • John Wolford QB | MIN

Rams' John Wolford: Being examined further

Wolford (neck) was taken to the hospital for "precautionary measures" following his departure from Saturday's wild-card game in Seattle.

On a designed run in the first quarter, Wolford was hit in the helmet by Seahawks safety Jamal Adams. Wolford remained on the ground as the Rams' medical staff examined him before going to the locker room on his own. After he was deemed questionable to return, he later left the stadium in an ambulance and will undergo additional testing to figure out the extent of his neck injury. Jared Goff will continue to direct the offense with Wolford sidelined.

Rams' John Wolford: Leaves stadium in ambulance

Wolford (neck) was transported from Lumen Field in Seattle via an ambulance, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.

In the first quarter of Sunday's wild-card game against the Seahawks, Wolford took a hit to the helmet as he went to the ground on a designed run and remained there for a spell. After he was evaluated by the Rams' medical staff, he was able to walk off the field under his own power and eventually was called questionable to return due to a neck injury. With the way in which Wolford left the stadium, it appears the issue may be serious and likely means Jared Goff will direct the offense for the rest of the contest.

  • Tyler Huntley QB | BAL

Ravens' Tyler Huntley: Jumps to active roster

The Ravens elevated Huntley to the active roster Saturday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Robert Griffin (thigh) and Trace McSorley (knee) remain on injured reserve, so Huntley will serve as Lamar Jackson's backup in Sunday's wild-card game against the Titans. Huntley has played 28 snaps on offense this season, completing three of five passes for 15 yards and running 10 times for 23 yards.

  • John Wolford QB | MIN

Rams' John Wolford: Questionable to return

Wolford injured his neck during the first quarter of Saturday's wild-card game against the Seahawks and is listed as questionable to return, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Wolford appeared to take a shot to his head from Seahawks safety Jamal Adams on a scramble and was immediately taken back to the locker room. Jared Goff (right thumb) is the only active quarterback available for the Rams if Wolford is unable to return.

  • Football Team's Taylor Heinicke: Likely set to start

Heinicke is expected to start at quarterback with Alex Smith (calf) likely inactive for Washington's wild-card matchup against the Buccaneers on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The report suggests Washington opted for Heinicke presumably because the young quarterback provides more mobility than a limited Smith, but in any case the 27-year-old will make his second career start in the most pivotal of circumstances. Steven Montez will act as the backup with Smith likely inactive.

  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Three totals TDs in first playoff W

Allen completed 26 of 35 passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns while adding 54 yards and a touchdown on 11 rushing attempts in Saturday's 27-24 wild-card round win over the Colts.

Allen showcased his creativity and improved decision-making on a three-yard touchdown pass to Dawson Knox late in the first quarter, flipping the ball to the tight end when he saw Knox wide open in the end zone on a play that was designed to be a quarterback draw. He then gave the Bills a 14-10 lead just before halftime with a five-yard touchdown run to cap a controversial drive that included a pair of sideline catches by Gabriel Davis that were both ruled in bounds to account for 56 yards, followed by an interception called back on a penalty and another would-be interception overturned on replay. Allen added a 35-yard touchdown pass to favorite target Stefon Diggs to take a 24-10 lead early in the fourth quarter, and though Buffalo's offense largely stalled after that, Indianapolis' comeback bid came up short. With his first career playoff win in the books, Allen will have another home playoff game in the AFC divisional round next week.

  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Rams' Jared Goff: Expected to be backup

Goff (right thumb) is active for Saturday's wild-card game but is expected to back up John Wolford, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports says.

The Rams haven't officially made the announcement, but regardless Goff will miss just one game after having surgery on his right thumb only 12 days earlier. Expect Wolford to act as the starter initially, but it's unclear if Goff will be worked into the offensive gameplan later on.

  • John Wolford QB | MIN

Rams' John Wolford: In line to start Saturday

Coach Sean McVay told Jay Glazer of Fox Sports that Wolford is expected to be the Rams' starting quarterback for Saturday's wild-card game at Seattle.

Jared Goff is less than two weeks removed from undergoing surgery on a dislocated right thumb, and while he's active he may just be suiting up in case of an emergency. Meanwhile, Wolford is slated to direct L.A.'s offense for the second straight contest after completing 22 of 38 passes for 231 yards and one interception Week 17 against the Cardinals. He also added 56 yards on six carries.
