  • 49ers' Jimmy Garoppolo: Not ruled out for Week 3 yet

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Garoppolo (ankle) "still has a chance" to suit up against the Giants on Sunday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Shanahan downplayed the severity of Garappolo's injury, a high-ankle sprain sustained near the end of the first half Week 2 against the Jets. Such injuries usually require at least some time on the sideline to get right, but it sounds like the 49ers will monitor Garoppolo throughout the week before making a final decision on his availability. Nick Mullens will slot back into the starting lineup if Garappolo can't suit up against the Giants.

  • Drew Lock QB | SEA

Broncos' Drew Lock: Will be evaluated in two weeks

Lock (shoulder) is slated to miss at least two weeks before the Broncos evaluate his injury again, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Lock suffered a rotator/labral issue in his right shoulder during Sunday's loss to the Steelers. It looks as though the second-year signal-caller's earliest opportunity to retake the field will come Week 5 versus New England, and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the Broncos expect to have Lock back before their Week 8 bye. In the meantime, Jeff Driskel will line up under center for Denver. Even when Lock does return to action, he'll be forced to operate without top wideout Courtland Sutton, who suffered season-ending ACL and MCL tears Week 2.

  • Jeff Driskel QB | WAS

Broncos' Jeff Driskel: May start multiple weeks

Driskel is slated to start against the Buccaneers in Week 3 and as long as Drew Lock (shoulder) remains sidelined, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Driskel looks set to start at least Denver's next two contests -- against the Buccaneers and the Jets -- after which point Lock will be evaluated. The nature of Lock's rotator/labral injury puts him at risk of missing up to six weeks, so Driskel could see the opportunity to make a number of starts. The journeyman signal-caller performed well in relief of Lock against Pittsburgh's vaunted defense Sunday, when he completed 18 of 34 pass attempts for 256 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, but he'll have to manage without top wideout Courtland Sutton (knee) going forward.

  • Drew Lock QB | SEA

Broncos' Drew Lock: Will miss 2-to-6 weeks

Lock suffered a rotator/labral issue in his right shoulder and will miss 2-to-6 weeks, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Lock underwent an MRI that changed the diagnosis from a sprained AC joint to a rotator/labral issue, but the timeline for his return remains the same. For the time being, Jeff Driskel is expected to start under center after finishing this past Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh following Lock's injury.

  • Tyrod Taylor QB | GB

    Chargers' Tyrod Taylor: Considered week-to-week

The Chargers consider Taylor (chest) week-to-week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Taylor was admitted to the hospital due to breathing problems during pregame warmups Sunday, resulting in rookie quarterback Justin Herbert getting the opportunity to impress in his NFL debut. Coach Anthony Lynn said after the contest that Taylor, who has since been discharged from the hospital, will reenter the starting lineup if he's 100 percent healthy, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. As such, the Chargers' starting signal-caller for Week 3 against Carolina may remain uncertain until later this week, after the team has had a chance to gather more information about Taylor's health.

  • Andy Dalton QB | PHI

Cowboys' Andy Dalton: Briefly sees action Sunday

Dalton subbed in for Dak Prescott and threw an incomplete pass in Sunday's comeback win over the Falcons.

Prescott came out after a big hit from Deion Jones late in the third quarter, leaving Dalton to helm the offense with the ball on the one-yard line. Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore gave the veteran QB a chance to make an impact in the red zone, but with everyone covered Dalton did the smart thing and threw the ball away. Prescott then checked back into the game and scored his second of three rushing TDs on the day. As long as the Cowboys' No. 1 quarterback stays healthy, Dalton's main contributions will come in the film room.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Fires off five touchdowns in win

Wilson completed 21 of 28 pass attempts for 288 yards, five touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 35-30 win over New England. He added 39 rushing yards on five carries.

Wilson was incredible once again, keeping his club one step ahead of the Patriots' comeback attempts. The dual-threat quarterback completed touchdown passes to five different receivers in this one, bringing his season total up to nine through two contests. Wilson could be involved in yet another shootout next week against a Dallas squad that can put up points but has trouble preventing them.

  • Tyrod Taylor QB | GB

Chargers' Tyrod Taylor: Discharged from hospital

Taylor (chest) was discharged from the hospital Sunday night after being admitted due to breathing problems, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Per a team statement, Taylor's status for the Week 3 game against the Panthers will be determined later this week. Most importantly, the quarterback appears to be alright after having difficulty breathing prior to the kickoff of Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Leads come-from-behind win

Mahomes completed 27 of 47 pass attempts for 302 yards and two touchdowns and added 54 yards on six carries during Sunday's 23-20 win over the Chargers.

Mahomes got off to an extremely slow start as the typically prolific Chiefs offense was stopped on four of five possessions in the first half. He turned it up a notch in the second half and helped his team draw level with a 54-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill in the fourth quarter. Mahomes then led a methodical 13-play drive in overtime to set up the winning field goal, completing crucial passes to Hill and Clyde Edwards-Helaire to set it up. The superstar signal-caller now has five touchdowns and 513 yards with no interceptions through two games and will look to continue his excellent start next Monday night in a tough matchup with the Ravens.

  • Lamar Jackson QB | BAL

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Coasts to easy win

Jackson completed 18 of 24 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown and ran for 54 yards on 16 carries in Sunday's 33-16 win over the Texans.

After a first quarter that saw only one field goal between the two teams, the Ravens' running game and defense took control, leaving Jackson with little need to air it out. This kind of game script could become common for Baltimore this season, limiting the production of the team's superstar QB, but that shouldn't be an issue in Week 3 as Jackson and the Ravens go toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes and the defending Super Bowl champions from Kansas City.
