Logan Woodside QB | ARI
Titans' Logan Woodside: Wins backup job
Woodside officially won the backup quarterback job after the team cut Trevor Siemian, Erik Bacharach of The Tennessean reports.
Woodside's steady performance throughout training camp impressed the team enough to stick on the roster. A former seventh-round pick, this is the first time Woodside has been on an active NFL roster. Siemian is a candidate to join the team's practice squad.

Jake Fromm QB | DET
Bills' Jake Fromm: Makes team as No. 3
Fromm survived the Bills' roster cutdown Saturday and looks to begin the season as the team's No. 3 quarterback.
For now, the rookie out of Georgia will work behind Josh Allen and Matt Barkley, though there's always a chance the team could bring in one more veteran and try to hide Fromm on the practice squad. For now , however, the Bills are choosing the sixth-rounder over Davis Webb, who was let go Saturday.

Cooper Rush QB | BAL
Cooper Rush: Shifts to waivers
The Giants waived Rush on Saturday, Michael Eisen of the team's official site reports.
Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett was Rush's head coach in Dallas last year, but Rush couldn't beat out Colt McCoy to be Daniel Jones' backup in 2020. Rush may stick around on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Tommy Stevens TE | NYG
Tommy Stevens: Waived by Saints
Stevens was waived by the Saints on Saturday, Amie Just of Nola.com reports.
The former quarterback-turned-tight end looked like he'd have a good shot of making the final roster due to his unique skillset, but that wasn't the case. Before joining the Saints, he drew some interest from Carolina.

Jake Browning QB | TB
Jake Browning: Shifts to waivers
Browning was waived by the Vikings on Saturday, Craig Peters and Eric Smith of the Vikings' official site reports.
Browning couldn't beat out Sean Mannion to be Kirk Cousins' backup, so he could spend a second straight season on the Vikings' practice squad assuming he clears waivers.

Paxton Lynch QB | PIT
Paxton Lynch: Unceremoniously let go
Lynch was waived by the Steelers on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
No surprise here as both Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges ultimately remained on the team's roster. It'll be interesting to see whether the Steelers opt to bring Lynch back onto their practice squad or roll with a three-QB active roster for 2020.

David Blough QB | DET
David Blough: Let go by Lions
Blough was waived by the Lions on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
It would have been surprising to see Blough beat out veteran Chase Daniels for the backup gig behind Matthew Stafford, but Blough evidently had a strong camp, which put him in contention for the role. He'll hit the waiver wire along with a host of other notable names at QB and could make it back through to the team's practice squad should everything work out in the Lions' favor.

Kevin Davidson QB | CLE
Kevin Davidson: Jettisoned by Browns
Davidson was waived by the Browns on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The rookie signal-caller out of Princeton could end up on Cleveland's practice squad if the team liked his performance in training camp. Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum are locked in as the Browns' top two quarterbacks, so Davidson never had a real shot at making the final cut.
-
Joshua Dobbs QB | NE
Joshua Dobbs: Shockingly waived
Dobbs was waived by the Jaguars on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Both Dobbs and Mike Glennon were surprisingly jettisoned, leaving just unproven rookie Jake Luton as the only backup behind Gardner Minshew. It's especially shocking considering the Jaguars sent a 2020 fifth-round pick to the Steelers last year in an effort to lock in a secure backup behind then-starter Nick Foles. Both Dobbs and Glennon should receive plenty of interest on the open market, but it seems likely at least one could return back to Jacksonville after a frantic NFL pickup period.

Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL
Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Beginning career as backup
Tagovailoa is set to serve as Miami's No. 2 quarterback following the decision to cut Josh Rosen, Safid Deen of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Coach Brian Flores said earlier this week that Tagovailoa's health has been a factor in determining Miami's backup position, but he noted Saturday that "from a health standpoint" he feels good about the 22-year-old's readiness. The move to cut Rosen, who started three games for the Dolphins in 2019, reinforces that optimism, though Flores also left the door open about potentially adding another quarterback off waivers. Ryan Fitzpatrick will start Sept. 13's season opener against the Patriots, but Tagovailoa is likely to see action at some point as a rookie as long as he can dissuade any worries about his recovery from November hip surgery.
