Kyle Allen QB | BUF
Panthers' Kyle Allen: Getting another start Week 8
Allen will be the Panthers' starting quarterback for Sunday's game at San Francisco, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Coach Ron Rivera also indicated that Cam Newton will continue his rehab from a Lisfranc sprain in his left foot following the team's bye. Newton doesn't have a timeline for a return to practice, let alone games, so Allen should be under center for the foreseeable future. He hasn't racked up impressive yardage totals in his four starts, averaging 225.3 passing yards per game, but he's completed 65.6 percent of his throws while compiling seven touchdowns versus no interceptions. Allen will have his most difficult test to date Week 8 against the 49ers' top-ranked defense.

Patrick Mahomes QB | KC
Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: No timetable provided by Reid
Coach Andy Reid acknowledged Monday that it would be a "stretch'' for Mahomes to play Sunday against the Packers, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports. "I don't think you put a timeline on this thing," Reid noted of the status of Mahomes, who dislocated the patella in his right knee this past Thursday. "You go off how he feels and what the doctors say and go with it. I don't think there's a set time, though. I know people want a time, but I don't think you can do that with this injury."
Though Reid won't commit to a timetable for Mahomes' recovery, we'll continue to operate under the assumption that the QB will miss time, with a return to action Week 11 still looking like a plausible best-case scenario. While Mahomes missing any action at all is bad news for both the Chiefs and his fantasy managers, trainer Rick Burkholder encouragingly noted that the signal-caller's MRI "turned out as good as we could possibly imagine.'' For now, Mahomes -- who "did extensive full therapy" at the team's complex over the weekend -- will continue to focus on his injury rehab while Matt Moore prepares to start against Green Bay.

Baker Mayfield QB | TB
Browns' Baker Mayfield: Looks good at practice
Coach Freddie Kitchens indicated that Mayfield (hip) looked good at practice Monday after resting his hip injury during the Browns' bye week, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
We'll have to see if Mayfield ends up listed as a limited or full practice participant once the Browns' initial Week 8 injury report is revealed, but the QB is in no danger of missing this coming Sunday's game against the Patriots. A bigger concern is that he'll be squaring off against a top-shelf defense in that contest.

Tim Boyle QB | TEN
Packers' Tim Boyle: Closes out blowout
Boyle played the final two drives of Sunday's 42-24 victory over the Raiders and finished with three carries for negative-three yards.
Boyle saw action Sunday for the first time this season, but he was limited to three handoffs and three kneel-downs with the Packers well ahead on the scoreboard when he entered the game. Boyle is locked in as the backup behind starter Aaron Rodgers as the only other quarterback on the roster.

Baker Mayfield QB | TB
Browns' Baker Mayfield: Returns to practice
Mayfield (hip) is on the field for Monday's practice, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Mayfield acknowledged after the Browns' Week 6 loss to the Seahawks that he was dealing with some hip soreness, prompting the team to take it easy on the quarterback in light practices during the ensuing bye week. With some extra time to heal up, Mayfield looks in little danger of missing the Browns' next game Sunday against the Patriots, but he'll retain an injury designation until he's back practicing fully. The Browns will release their first official practice report of Week 8 on Wednesday.

Dak Prescott QB | DAL
Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Efficient in easy win
Prescott completed 21 of 27 pass attempts for 239 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's 37-10 win over the Eagles. He added 30 yards and another score on five rush attempts.
Prescott picked apart a vulnerable Philadelphia pass defense (ranked 29th heading into Week 7) and added his third rushing touchdown of the season to put the cherry on top of a solid fantasy outing. The 26-year-old has a 3:1 TD:INT ratio against defenses ranked in the bottom half of the league (four games), compared to a 0.75:1 TD:INT ratio against those who grade in the top half (three games). Prescott will get to rest on the team's upcoming bye, but he will face a Giants passing D that has been worse than the Eagles' to date, making the signal-caller a strong play come Week 9.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Leads team to victory
Tannehill completed 23 of 29 pass attempts for 312 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 7 against the Chargers.
Tannehill looked competent in his first start with the Titans, working efficiently and leading the team to victory. Though he was often reliant on his receivers to make plays after the catch to rack up yardage, Tannehill showed immediate rapport with both Corey Davis and A.J. Brown. The highlights of his performance came on an eight-yard touchdown pass to Davis and a five-yard scoring toss to Tajae Sharpe. While Tannehill's effort was far from flawless -- he threw an interception and also lost a fumble -- he will almost certainly hang onto the starting job heading into Week 8 and will draw a positive matchup against the Buccaneers.

Russell Wilson QB | NYG
Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Throws first pick
Wilson completed 20 of 41 passes for 241 yards, one touchdown and an interception in Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Ravens. He also rushed three times for 27 yards.
This was an uncharacteristically inefficient outing for Wilson. Over the first six games, Wilson didn't finish below a 64 percent completion rate or 8.1 YPA, but he rang up at 49 percent and 5.9 YPA in this outing. Wilson also threw his first interception of the season in the second quarter, and Marcus Peters ran it back 67 yards for a touchdown. The Seahawks fell to 5-2 on the season, but Wilson is still firmly entrenched in the MVP conversation. He'll has an appealing bounce-back opportunity in Week 8 against the pitiful Falcons secondary.

Mitch Trubisky QB | TEN
Bears' Mitchell Trubisky: Misleading stats
Trubisky went 34-for-54 passing for 251 yards and two touchdowns in Chicago's 36-25 loss to the Saints on Sunday.
For the majority of this game, Trubisky was under heavy pressure without the Saints needing to blitz, and he appeared to have little confidence throwing the ball to anyone other than Allen Robinson. However, garbage time took over late in the game, and he threw a pair of meaningless touchdowns to salvage his fantasy day despite a dreadful performance. Aside from a three-touchdown effort against Washington, he's thrown just two TD passes over four games, and this was the only game he's had with more than 231 passing yards. Until he gets things figured out, he's a difficult player to trust in fantasy lineups.

Teddy Bridgewater QB | DET
Saints' Teddy Bridgewater: Throws two TD passes vs. Bears
Bridgewater completed 23 of 38 pass attempts for 281 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 36-25 win over the Bears.
Faced with a difficult road matchup, Bridgewater completed passes to eight different receivers while averaging a respectable 7.4 yards per attempt. He completed short touchdown passes to Josh Hill and Taysom Hill, giving him his third multi-touchdown game of the season as he posted his second-best yardage total. Now averaging 278 passing yards over the last three games, Bridgewater will enjoy an excellent home matchup against the Cardinals next Sunday.
