  • Paxton Lynch QB | PIT

Steelers' Paxton Lynch: Set to serve as backup QB

Lynch was added to the Steelers' 53-man roster from the practice squad Friday.

The 2016 first-rounder spent the preseason with the Seahawks but was let go at September's roster deadline and joined the Steelers' practice squad Sept. 17. Lynch provides some additional depth at quarterback with Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) on injured reserve and Mason Rudolph dealing with a concussion. Lynch will serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind Devlin Hodges this week against the Chargers with Rudolph sidelined.

  • Mason Rudolph QB | PIT

Steelers' Mason Rudolph: Ruled out for Week 6

Rudolph (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday night's game against the Chargers, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Rudolph was able to practice in a limited fashion this past week, but with a Week 7 bye on tap, the team will play it safe with him and start Devlin Hodges at QB on Sunday.

  • Jaguars' Gardner Minshew: Cleared to play

Minshew (groin) doesn't carry a Week 6 injury designation after returning to a full practice Friday.

Minshew logged a limited practice Thursday due to minor groin soreness, but he worked fully Friday, which sets the stage for him to start Sunday's game against the 4-1 Saints, who have won three in a row. The rookie signal-caller is firmly on the fantasy radar after logging six touchdowns versus no interceptions over his last three games and putting up 374 passing yards in a 34-27 loss to the Panthers in Week 5.

  • Case Keenum QB | CHI

Redskins' Case Keenum: Named as Week 6 starter

Keenum will start Sunday's game in Miami, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.

Interim head coach Bill Callahan confirmed Keenum will get the Week 6 start, with rookie Dwayne Haskins serving as the backup. Keenum has two 300-yard games to his name this season, but he's been plagued by sloppy mistakes, including four interceptions, three fumbles and a bunch of misfired passes to open receivers. His matchup for Sunday is as good as it gets, with Miami allowing a league-worst 10.3 yards per pass attempt.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Another three picks in loss

Jones completed 15 of 31 passes for 161 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions in the Giants' 35-14 loss to the Patriots on Thursday. He also rushed twice for eight yards

Jones and the Giants put up a valiant fight for three quarters, but ultimately, they fell by multiple touchdowns to the defending champs like the majority of teams seem to. The rookie's first two interceptions came in the first half in his own territory, with the second eventually leading to a Patriots touchdown. However, the third pick short-circuited New York's first drive of the second half at New England's 30-yard line, with Stephen Gilmore snagging a pass intended for Rhett Ellison. Jones was naturally hamstrung by the absences of Sterling Shepard (concussion), Evan Engram (knee), Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Wayne Gallman (concussion), which left him significantly short on weapons. Jones has now thrown six interceptions over his last three starts after a spectacular debut against the Buccaneers in Week 3, a trend he'll look to reverse against the Cardinals in Week 7 a week from Sunday.

  • Mason Rudolph QB | PIT

Steelers' Mason Rudolph: Logs another limited practice

Rudolph (concussion) remained limited at practice Thursday.

Rudolph is still in the NFL's concussion protocol and if he isn't cleared in advance of Sunday night's game, Devlin Hodges would be in line for his first NFL start. We'll circle back on the Steelers' QB situation Friday, but there's a chance that the team elects to play it safe with Rudolph and hold him out this weekend, with a Week 7 bye on tap.

  • Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT

Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Limited by knee injury

Rodgers was limited at Thursday's practice due to a knee injury, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

Rodgers notably played the last 15 games of last season with an MCL sprain and a tibial plateau fracture in his left knee. On this occasion, it's unclear which knee is affecting him, but his ability to participate in some capacity bodes well for his Week 6 status. Look for the Packers to clarify Rodgers' health prior to Monday's game against the Lions.

  • Jaguars' Gardner Minshew: Logs limited practice

Minshew was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday due to minor groin soreness, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.

Any mid-week addition to a team's injury report is worth noting, but so far this doesn't seem like an issue that will prevent Minshew from handling the Jaguars' QB duties Sunday against the Saints.

  • Deshaun Watson QB | CLE

Texans' Deshaun Watson: Earns AFC honors

Watson was named the AFC Player of the Week for Week 5, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Watson was electrifying during Houston's 53-32 win over the Falcons. He completed 28-of-33 passes for 426 yards and no interceptions. Most importantly for Watson, the Texans, and his fantasy owners, the quarterback was not sacked and was hit just once. He entered the game having been sacked 18 times. The return of guard Zach Fulton re-established the front five that protected Watson two weeks ago against the Chargers, which was the unit's best performance to that point in the season. In that game, the offensive line allowed two sacks and one quarterback hit in 34 dropbacks. A Week 6 showdown against the Chiefs and their league-leading passing offense could lead to a shootout and another banner day for Watson.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Practices fully Wednesday

    Mahomes (ankle) practiced fully Wednesday.

Per Blair Kerkhoff of the Kansas City Star, Mahomes -- who has been managing a left ankle injury since the Chiefs' opener -- left no doubt that he'll play Sunday against the Texans. "I actually feel pretty good today," Mahomes said after practice Wednesday. The star QB acknowledged that at this stage his ankle is "not perfect, but it's good enough" to "run, cut, cut off of it and do that type of stuff." Five games into the season, Mahomes leads the league with 1,831 passing yards to go along with a tidy 11:0 TD:INT ratio.
