Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Avoids Week 3 injury report

Prescott (ankle) wasn't listed on the Cowboys' injury report Thursday, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Both owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett expressed optimism regarding Prescott after he emerged from Sunday's beatdown in Denver with an ankle injury, and the quarterback backed up their comments with no restrictions in the first practice of the week. Even if Prescott's mobility is compromised somewhat Monday at Arizona, Ezekiel Elliott is unlikely to post back-to-back duds, bringing back some stability to the offense.

  • Sam Bradford QB | MIN

Vikings' Sam Bradford: Workload limited again Thursday

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said that Bradford (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The Vikings planned all along to limit Bradford's activity in the team's second practice of the week, but the more important takeaway from Thursday's session was that Zimmer was upbeat about the quarterback's health. Per Tomasson, Zimmer said he feels better Thursday than he did a day earlier about Bradford's chances of suiting up Sunday against the Buccaneers, but the team's final practice of the week Friday should shed more light on the signal caller's status. If Bradford's knee issue -- which is believed to be a bone bruise -- forces him to the sideline for a second straight week, Case Keenum would pick up another start behind center, resulting in a bleaker outlook for the team's receiving corps.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Unlimited by ankle injury

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Thursday that Prescott (ankle) is experiencing no limitations and "seems pretty good physically moving around," Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Garrett's comments support what Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said earlier this week regarding the health of the team's franchise quarterback, who tweaked his ankle in a blowout loss to the Broncos on Sunday. With the Cowboys matching up with the Cardinals on Monday night, Prescott will benefit from an additional day to rest the ankle, but even in a shorter week, it wouldn't seem that the second-year player would be at any serious risk of missing time. It's expected that Prescott will be involved in the Cowboys' first practice of the week Thursday in at least a limited capacity.

  • Sam Bradford QB | MIN

Vikings' Sam Bradford: Limited at practice Wednesday

Bradford (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

Per Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Bradford said Wednesday that he would like to think his chances of returning for the Week 3 matchup with the Buccaneers are good, but he then acknowledged that he won't have a real read on his availability until he sees how his knee responds in practice. His ability to practice in some capacity Wednesday is a good start, though he also was a limited participant all last week and didn't end up playing in the Week 2 loss to Pittsburgh. Should Bradford miss Sunday's contest, the Vikings will be forced to rely on Case Keenum, whose presence under center would necessitate a downgrade for Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen and Kyle Rudolph.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Expected to play Monday

Per Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told 105.3 The FAN on Tuesday that Prescott (ankle) is "going to be able to play" in Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Prescott suffered the injury in Sunday's blowout loss at Denver, but it doesn't appear as if it's anything too serious. Due to the deficit the team faced from the start Sunday, Prescott's usage went way up, as he completed 30 of 50 passes for 238 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. The Cowboys will likely provide an update on the quarterback's status on Week 3's injury report Thursday, but he's expected to be ready to go in Week 3.

  • Lions' Matthew Stafford: Tosses two touchdowns in win

Stafford completed 15 of 21 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 24-10 win over the Giants. He also rushed three times for 23 yards and lost a fumble.

Stafford followed his four-touchdown outing in Week 1 by throwing a pair of scores in the first half. However, besides Week 1 of the 2010 season -- when a shoulder injury forced him out before halftime -- Stafford's 122 yards marked the fewest of his career. With a lost fumble to boot, it wasn't a great night for Stafford, but his two touchdowns and second victory of the season should keep him satisfied. Looking ahead, the Lions' Week 3 matchup against the Falcons could end up being a shootout, which would surely favor a bounce back from Stafford statistically.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Hurts ankle Sunday

Prescott injured his ankle during Sunday's 42-17 loss at Denver. However, head coach Jason Garrett said Prescott appeared to be "OK" on Monday, per David Helman of the Cowboys' official site.

Prescott likely sustained the ailment on an awkward tackle in the second half, but like Jason Witten and the entire offensive line, he managed to log every one of the 71 offensive snaps. Without Prescott, the Cowboys may not have put together many sustained drives after halftime, and while just one of the seven produced points, he was 30-for-50 passing for 238 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Additionally, he racked up a team-high 24 yards on three carries. Expect Prescott's health to be clarified upon the release of the team's first Week 3 injury report Thursday.

  • Colts' Jacoby Brissett: Starting again Sunday

Brissett will start Sunday against the Browns, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

As expected, Brissett will continue to hold down the fort in Luck's absence, which is expected to last another 3-4 weeks, at least. In six quarters under center with the Colts, he's completed 22 of 40 passes for 267 yards and one interception, while taking six carries for 22 yards.

  • Tyrod Taylor QB | GB

Bills' Tyrod Taylor: Still the one

Coach Sean McDermott rejected any notion that the Bills would be considering a change at quarterback after the team put up just three points in Sunday's loss at Carolina, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. "Tyrod is our starter," said McDermott on Monday. "I expect Tyrod to come out and put in a good week's work just like the rest of our football team and come out firing come Sunday."

Taylor threw for just 125 yards as his struggles to help produce victories on the road continue. But the Bills couldn't run the ball either -- LeSean McCoy was held to just nine yards -- and Taylor was just one throw away from turning the game around and providing an upset for a team whose defense played its heart out. McDermott suggested it's the offensive game plan that needs refining, not a change of quarterback. The Bills have started out the season looking stronger than expected, but it's also a rebuilding year so expect the cries for rookie Nathan Peterman to grow if the offense struggles to score points in future games.

  • Ryan Nassib QB | JAC

Jaguars' Ryan Nassib: Signed by Jaguars

Nassib signed with the Jaguars on Monday, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.

Nassib spent training camp with the Saints before being released prior to the start of the regular season. With starter Blake Bortles struggling through the first two weeks of the season, the Jaguars have likely brought in Nassib to add some pressure to Bortles. He's projected to slot in as the No. 3 quarterback behind Chad Henne.
