Orlovsky was released by the Rams on Saturday, Jamie Han of the Rams' official site reports.

Orlovsky signed with the Rams in July but was only expected to serve as an extra throwing arm for training camp. As a vested veteran, he's immediately eligible to sign with another team.

McCown was released by the Cowboys on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

McCown and Kellen Moore were both beaten out by undrafted rookie Cooper Rush. As a vested veteran, McCown is immediately eligible to sign with another team.

Lynch (shoulder) is expected to miss approximately five weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Lynch's need for an extended absence explains why the Broncos were so quick to sign Brock Osweiler after he was released by the Browns on Friday. The team now has an experienced backup, one who potentially could retain the No. 2 role even after Lynch gets healthy. The 2016 first-round pick is recovering from a sprained throwing shoulder he suffered during the preseason.

The Broncos are expected to re-sign Brock Osweiler, all but confirming Lynch (shoulder) will be unavailable to start the regular season, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.

Lynch will carry a sprained right throwing shoulder into the regular season, which spurred the Broncos to bring back a familiar face in Osweiler to back up Trevor Siemian. A recovery timetable hasn't been attached to Lynch, so a multi-game absence is a fair assessment with a bit more than one week remaining before the team's Week 1 matchup with the Chargers. Expect the signal-caller to focus on rehabilitation for the foreseeable future.

The Chargers released Kellen Clemens and kept Jones on Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

According to Jack Wang of the LA Daily News , the Chargers plan to re-sign Clemens, which might push Jones back to No. 3 on the depth chart. Saturday's transaction does at least suggest the team is interested in developing Jones, who was acquired from the Bills in July in exchange for a conditional draft pick.

Nassib was released by the Saints on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Saturday marked the second time Nassib has been cut during the offseason, first by the Giants.

The Vikings placed Bridgewater (knee) on the Reserve/PUP list Saturday.

The move is merely procedural, as Bridgewater won't be returning to the field anytime soon. Having said that, the Vikings have been steadfast that he cannot be ruled out for the entire 2017 campaign. He's technically eligible to return in Week 7, but there's no telling when he'll be cleared to practice, let alone be ready for game action. Expect Sam Bradford to be under center for the entire 16-game slate, barring health concerns, while Case Keenum serves as the backup signal-caller.

Heinicke (concussion/oblique) was waived with an injury designation Saturday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Heinicke's oblique injury didn't seem to be much of an issue in any right, so it would seem Heinicke is dealing with a concussion. He'll likely revert to injured reserve.

Rush won the backup quarterback job, Brandon George of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The undrafted rookie out of Central Michigan enjoyed a phenomenal preseason, completing 38 of 51 passes for 398 yards and a league-high six touchdowns without throwing an interception. It was enough to convince the Cowboys to release Kellen Moore, who spent last year on injured reserve and struggled throughout the preseason.

The Redskins' somewhat surprisingly opted to waive Sudfeld on Saturday, Rich Tandler of CSNMidAtlantic reports.

Sudfeld, a 2016 sixth-round pick, was expected to be a project for the Redskins. While Colt McCoy held a firm grasp on the team's backup role behind Kirk Cousins, the team still kept Sudfeld on its 53-man roster last season. However, he seemingly has not made enough progress for the team to go the same route again this season. The 23-year-old is a strong candidate to land on the practice squad should he clear waivers.
