Kyle Trask QB | TB
Kyle Trask: Cut by Bucs
Trask (shoulder) was released by Tampa Bay on Tuesday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Trask lost the backup quarterback battle to Teddy Bridgewater. The 2021 second-round pick's tenure with the Buccaneers comes to an end after four years, during which Trask didn't log a regular-season start. Trask has been among the numerous NFL underachievers from Florida's prolific 2020 NCAA offense, which also included 2021 first-round picks Kyle Pitts and Kadarius Toney. With his shoulder healed, Trask will look to latch on with another team, though it will likely be on a practice squad.

Chris Oladokun QB | KC
Chris Oladokun: Dropped by Kansas City
Oladokun was waived by the Chiefs on Tuesday.
Oladokun signed a reserve/future contract with Kansas City in February after spending the majority of the 2024 campaign on the team's practice squad. The quarterback completed 11 of 23 passes for 120 yards and turned two carries into 36 rushing yards over three preseason contests with the team. If Oladokun clears waivers, he'll likely stick around as a member of the Chiefs' practice squad in 2025.

Kurtis Rourke QB | SF
49ers' Kurtis Rourke: Shifts to NFI list
Rourke (knee) was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list Tuesday.
Rourke played his entire final season at Indiana on a torn ACL but managed to throw for 3,042 yards, 29 touchdowns and five interceptions through 12 games, vaulting the Hoosiers to the College Football Playoff. He underwent surgery Jan. 8 and was subsequently drafted in the seventh round by the 49ers. Due to his recovery, he didn't participate in rookie camp or training camp, and he'll be required to miss at least four games due to his placement on the NFI list. The 49ers can take their time with his recovery as long as Brock Purdy and Mac Jones (knee) are upright, as Rourke projects for the No. 3 role upon return.

Brady Cook QB | NYJ
Brady Cook: Cut loose by New York
Cook was waived by the Jets on Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Cook played in all three of the team's preseason games, completing 25 of 38 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown, while he also threw an interception. The quarterback signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent in April, and if he goes unclaimed on waivers, there's a good chance he sticks around New York as a member of the practice squad.

Kyle McCord QB | PHI
Kyle McCord: Let go by Philadelphia
McCord was waived by the Eagles on Tuesday.
McCord appeared in all three preseason games with the team, completing 24 of 56 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown, but he also threw two interceptions. The quarterback was selected in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and if he clears waivers, he will likely join the Eagles' practice squad.

Taylor Heinicke QB | LAC
Taylor Heinicke: Released by Chargers
The Chargers released Heinicke on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old becomes a free agent after losing a summer battle against Trey Lance for the backup QB job in Los Angeles. It's not a great sign for Henicke's NFL future, but he may find a spot on a practice squad.
-
Cam Miller QB | MIA
Cam Miller: Cut by Las Vegas
Miller was waived by the Raiders on Tuesday.
Miller played in all three preseason games, completing 20 of 37 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing an interception. With the team trading for Kenny Pickett on Monday, Miller no longer had the chance to potentially open the season as the backup quarterback behind Geno Smith. Miller will likely end up with the Raiders' practice squad if he clears waivers.

Sam Hartman: Let go by Washington
Hartman was waived by the Commanders on Tuesday, Zach Selby of the team's official website reports.
Hartman saw action in all three of Washington's preseason contests, completing 25 of 46 passes for 207 yards, but he also threw four interceptions. Sam Ehlinger QB | DEN
Sam Ehlinger: Let go by Broncos

He'll be a practice-squad candidate.

Jason Bean QB | IND
Jason Bean: Let go by Indianapolis
The Colts waived Bean on Tuesday, Amanda Foster of the team's official site reports.
Bean entered training camp as the underdog against Riley Leonard for the QB3 job behind Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson. Bean didn't do much to close the gap, completing 14 of 24 passes for 144 yards, one touchdown and one interception across two games while rushing for 28 yards on six carries. Assuming he clears waivers, Bean could remain in Indianapolis as a member of the Colts' practice squad.
