Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton completed 16 of 26 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's win over San Diego.

Dalton enjoyed a second-straight efficient performance on Sunday. Through the first two games of the season, Dalton has completed 68 percent of his passes for 483 yards, five touchdowns and, most importantly, no interceptions, his first back-to-back games without a pick since Week 1 and Week 2 of last year. Dalton may not put up the huge numbers associated with a No. 1 quarterback, but he's showing the kind of reliability valuable for a No. 2 option.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, who completed 32 of 53 passes for 286 yards with two touchdowns and an interception Sunday in a loss to Minnesota, underwent X-rays on his ribs and chest after the game, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

The report claimed Stafford appeared to be in a lot of pain in the Lions' locker room, thus making his status for next Sunday night against Denver worth tracking.

The second NFL game was certainly a come-down for Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota, who experienced defeat for the first time in Cleveland.

Mariota beefed up his numbers down the stretch and finished 21 of 37 for 257 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. He hit tight end Anthony Fasano for a 19-yard score in the third quarter and Dorial Green-Beckham from 13 yards out in the fourth.

He also lost two fumbles, however, and made several bad decisions. His team was blanked until the last two minutes of the third.

Mariota also tweaked his ankle, but declared after the game that he's fine and is planning to play against Indianapolis in Week 3.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is undergoing an X-ray for a rib cage and chest issue, reports the Detroit News. Stafford finished the Week 2 loss with 286 passing yards on 32 completions.

Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 23 of 27 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 24-10 win over the Rams.

The Redskins' running game was dominant Sunday, as Matt Jones and Alfred Morris combined for 182 rushing yards and two touchdowns (most came from Jones, who had 19 carries for 123 yards and both scores). As a result, Cousins was simply able to manage the offense, as he connected with eight different receivers, throwing his lone touchdown to wideout Pierre Garcon, while tight end Jordan Reed led the team with 82 receiving yards.

Up next is a quick turnaround Thursday against the Giants, who have allowed 719 passing yards and four passing touchdowns through the first two games of the season.

Raiders quaterback Derek Carr (thumb) is active for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Following the regular season opener, Carr's journey to a definitive diagnosis eventually settled on a bruised thumb, which don't afflict his practice participation in advance of Week 2. With no Terrell Suggs (Achilles) on the other side, Carr will avoid one of the league's most fearsome pass rushers, but Baltimore's front seven remains relatively stout across the board, thereby curbing the QB's appeal.

Jets quarterback Geno Smith (jaw) has officially been ruled out for Monday's game, the Jets' official site reports.

He was a limited participant in practice, and it is not a surprise that he won't play Monday, as it was reported earlier in the week that he would miss "about the next three games." Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the start again in his place.

The Lions have made official what had been all-but-official: Quarterback Matthew Stafford (arm) will probably play Sunday in Minnesota.

A full participant throughout the week of practice, Stafford was never in any real danger of missing the game. He'll face a Vikings pass defense that appears tough on paper, but the group wasn't really tested in Week 1 as San Francisco rode running back Carlos Hyde to a 20-3 victory.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has received a thumbs-up from offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave for his practice week after losing most of the season opener against Cincinnati to a bruise on his throwing hand.

"He was better (Thursday) than (Wednesday)," Musgrave told CSNBayArea.com. "(Wednesday) was still good, but (Thursday) he appeared more confident with cutting it loose and those kind of things."

Carr admitted that he was too pumped up to throw with touch in Week 1 before he sustained the injury in the fourth series. He plans on calming down enough to perform better Sunday against Baltimore.

"I got so excited for the first week that I was throwing fastballs," Carr said. "I was out there trying to throw through people. That was just me being excited those first couple series."

Carr completed 7 of 12 passes for 61 yards before going down.

Jets quarterback Geno Smith (jaw) was technically a limited practice participant Thursday, nj.com reports.

That said, the quarterback's timetable for a return hasn't changed and Smith still expected to miss "about the next three games," according to the report.
