Deshaun Watson QB | CLE
Browns' Deshaun Watson: Uneven in preseason finale
Watson completed five of his 10 pass attempts for 92 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Saturday's 33-32 preseason loss against the Chiefs.
As his line indicates, Watson had a slow start to his final preseason tuneup. Through two possessions, he had completed only two of his five attempts and also lost a fumble. From there, things greatly improved as he completed a nice touch pass to the corner of the end zone for a 10-yard score to David Njoku. One possession later, he set up another score after he navigated around the pocket and found Amari Cooper for a deep 53-yard completion. While uneven, Watson closed his final tuneup before a Week 1 matchup against the Bengals in positive fashion.

Sam Howell QB | DAL
Commanders' Sam Howell: Not playing Saturday
Howell and most other starters will be held out of Saturday's preseason finale against the Bengals, Matthew Paras of The Washington Times reports.
The long list of players sitting out includes RBs Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson and WRs Terry McLaurin (toe), Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel. With the Commanders using their final preseason game to focus on back-end roster spots, Howell & Co. can soon turn their focus to a Week 1 home game against the Cardinals. McLaurin's availability is one of the big questions for that game.

Drew Lock QB | SEA
Seahawks' Drew Lock: Plays well to finish preseason
Lock completed 16 of 25 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 19-15 preseason loss to Green Bay.
The Seahawks held out their starters and let Lock play most of the game before handing things over to Holton Ahlers late in the second half. There were no signs of Lock struggling with the knee injury he suffered a week prior, and he's locked in as the No. 2 QB in Seattle heading into a Week 1 matchup with the Rams.

Jordan Love QB | GB
Packers' Jordan Love: Average in preseason finale
Love completed nine of 15 passes for 63 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason game against the Seahawks.
Love led the Packers to a field goal and touchdown on three drives, but he did it against Seattle's backups and underthrew a wide-open Christian Watson on what could've been a 49-yard touchdown. Love found Watson for a six-yard score to finish that same drive, then gave way to backup QB Sean Clifford and the second-string offense. The Packers open the regular season with a trip to Chicago, kicking off at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sun., Sept. 10.

Justin Fields QB | KC
Bears' Justin Fields: Puts up 67 total yards
Fields completed two of six passes for 51 yards and took three carries for 16 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Bills.
Fields played two drives and the majority of a third, coming out of the game early after center Doug Kramer exited with an undisclosed injury and Fields took a big hit at the end of a screen pass. The quarterback didn't appear hurt, but Bears coach Matt Eberflus took him out of the game in the red zone after Fields led the team there with the help of a 40-yard catch-and-run by WR DJ Moore. The Bears are counting on big things from the Fields-Moore connection as they head into a Week 1 home game against CB Jaire Alexander and the Packers.

Josh Allen QB | BUF
Bills' Josh Allen: Plays one drive, looks sharp
Allen completed five of seven passes for 49 yards in Saturday's preseason game against Chicago, leading the Bills to a touchdown on his only drive.
A bunch of the Bills' starters played more than one drive, but Allen and WR Stefon Diggs came out after the opening series. Diggs had two catches for 20 yards, with RB Damien Harris punching in a touchdown at the goal line. Allen made it through the preseason healthy and will next suit up Week 1 at the Jets on Monday Night Football.

Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Panthers' Andy Dalton: Shakes off back injury
Dalton (back) completed six of his 11 pass attempts for 61 yards and an interception in Friday's 26-17 preseason loss to the Lions.
Dalton had missed over a week of practice due to a back injury, but it never seemed particularly serious. The veteran is expected to to be the backup to 2023 No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young after the Panthers announced the rookie would operate as the team's starter all the way back in July. The team's 2022 third-round pick, Matt Corral, will likely operate as the team's No. 3 quarterback in the event he's on the 53-man roster to start the season.

Geno Smith QB | NYJ
Seahawks' Geno Smith: Not playing Saturday
Smith isn't dressed to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Packers, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Smith went through pregame warmups but doesn't have cleats or a helmet for the actual game. The Seahawks aren't expected to play many starters and can soon shift their focus to a Week 1 home game against the Rams. Rookie WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (wrist) is unlikely to be ready for that game following his recent surgery, but Smith still has a strong group of players around him between WRs DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett and a backfield duo of Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet.

Patrick Mahomes QB | KC
Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Not expected to play Saturday
Mahomes isn't in line to see action in Saturday's preseason finale against the Browns, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Per Palmer, the same applies to star TE Travis Kelce as well as WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Once the preseason concludes, Mahomes, who remains an elite fantasy option at the QB position, will shift his focus to preparing for his team's Week 1 matchup against the Lions on Sept. 7.

Jake Luton QB | LV
Jake Luton: Let go by Panthers
Luton was waived by the Panthers on Saturday, Darin Gantt of the team's official website reports.
Luton was the No. 4 quarterback on the Panthers' roster during training camp behind Bryce Young, Andy Dalton (back) and Matt Corral. Thus, he was considered a long shot to land on the team's final 53-man roster. It remains to be seen if he will need to look for a new opportunity elsewhere or if he will get a chance to join Carolina's practice squad.
