Chris Oladokun QB | KC
Chiefs' Chris Oladokun: Staying in Kansas City
The Chiefs signed Oladokun to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Oladokun spend the 2022 season on Kansas City's practice squad, but he wasn't ultimately called up for in-game action. With longtime backup Chad Henne having announced his retirement, however, Oladokun could potentially have an opportunity to compete for an elevated role this offseason.

Derek Carr QB | NO
Derek Carr: Officially released
Las Vegas released Carr on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
As expected, Las Vegas released its long-time starting quarterback before $40.4 million in his contract became guaranteed Tuesday afternoon. The move makes Carr one of the top free agents on the market and saves the Raiders $29.25 million in 2023 cap space. Schefter reports that the Saints and Panthers are among the top candidates for Carr's services, but the veteran is expected to have plenty of suitors this offseason.

Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: To be ready for OTAs
Mahomes said Monday he doesn't expect his high-ankle sprain to impact his availability for OTAs, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
Mahomes aggravated his lingering right ankle injury late in the second quarter of Sunday's 38-35 win over the Eagles, but that hurdle didn't prevent him from earning his second career Super Bowl MVP title, which he pairs with 2022 regular-season MVP honors. It's encouraging that the 27-year-old aims to be 100 percent by the start of this spring's offseason program, indicating the aggravation didn't carry significant complications. It will be interesting to monitor the Chiefs' personnel decisions this offseason, as key skill-position players like JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman (pelvis) and Jerick McKinnon are impending free agents, but regardless of how things shake out, Mahomes is a lock to come off the board as one of the elite fantasy options at quarterback in 2023.

Jalen Hurts QB | PHI
Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Four total touchdowns in SB loss
Hurts completed 27 of 38 passes for 304 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 38-35 Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs. He added 15 rushes for 70 yards and three touchdowns.
As was the case for much of the season, Hurts was dynamic as both a rusher and passer. He made a mistake early in the game on a fumble that was returned for a touchdown but otherwise moved the Eagles offense all game. Hurts connected with A.J. Brown for a deep 45-yard pass early in the second quarter for his lone passing score of the game. He also punched in three rushing touchdowns from short range. Despite Philadelphia coming up just short of a Super Bowl victory, Hurts established himself as an elite quarterback in the league in 2022.

Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Leads comeback Super Bowl win
Mahomes completed 21 of 27 passes for 182 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 38-35 Super Bowl win over the Eagles.
Mahomes and the Chiefs got off to a slow offensive start and entered halftime down 10 points. However, he led the team to a score on every possession in the final two quarters, a feat made more impressive by the fact that he was playing through an ankle injury that he aggravated late in the second quarter. Mahomes' touchdowns came from 18, five and four yards, and he was named the Super Bowl MVP for the second time in his career. Mahomes was also named the MVP of the regular season Thursday, and given that he is just 27 years old, he's likely to continue to add to his already impressive resume.

Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Expected to be released
Carr has informed the Raiders that he won't accept a trade and is expected to be released before his 2023 contract becomes fully guaranteed Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Given Carr's no-trade clause and 2023 cap hit, it always seemed unlikely the Raiders would be able to deal the veteran quarterback. The move will make Carr one of the top free agents heading into next year and allow him to be courted by interested teams. Carr has been the Raiders' starting quarterback since being drafted in the second round of the 2014 Draft, and while he was never considered a top-tier player, he's been one of the league's most consistent producers and has missed just four regular-season games during his nine-year career, including the final two contests of the 2022 season when he left the team after being benched.

Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Clear for Super Bowl
Mahomes (ankle) doesn't have a designation ahead of Super Bowl LVII against the Eagles on Sunday.
Mahomes again was listed as a full participant on the final injury report for the Super Bowl, one day removed from winning his second NFL MVP award after throwing for a career-high 5,250 yards with 41 touchdowns in 17 games during the 2022 campaign. The Chiefs are expecting the six-year signal-caller to be able to handle most, if not all, of the team's offensive playbook, but James Palmer of NFL Network reported that Mahomes wanted to test out his right ankle a bit more on certain reps Friday and Saturday to ensure he was able to perform those plays without issue. With his status otherwise clear for Sunday, Mahomes will be attempting to lock down his second championship versus a Philadelphia defense that features the top pass rush and also picked off 17 passes during the regular season.

Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Stays full Thursday
Mahomes (ankle) practiced in full Thursday.
Mahomes now has been listed as a full participant on eight consecutive injury reports since sustaining a high right-ankle sprain during the Chiefs' divisional-round win against the Jaguars. On Wednesday, coach Andy Reid relayed to James Palmer of NFL Network that Mahomes was capable of handling nearly the entire offensive playbook. One day later, Dianna Russini of ESPN reported that Mahomes was dealing with merely some discomfort in the affected ankle. As such, Mahomes' availability isn't in question ahead of Super Bowl LVII against the Eagles on Sunday.

Brock Purdy QB | SF
49ers' Brock Purdy: Specific surgery still unclear
Purdy revealed during an appearance on KNBR San Francisco on Thursday that the plan to repair the tear of the UCL in his right throwing elbow on Feb. 22 may change during the surgery.
Purdy is slated to meet with Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas on Feb. 21 before undergoing the procedure one day later. While an InternalBrace repair is scheduled, Meister will have clearance to opt for "a hybrid surgery" that also would include a reconstruction. "Yeah, that's Dr. Meister's call," Purdy said. "He's done this year after year with the best of the best with MLB pitchers. So he's definitely seen this kind of thing happen, and he's going to make the best call, and not just for the heck of it. It's obviously for the best call for my career moving forward." The most optimistic timetable for Purdy's recovery is for the quarterback to resume throwing after three months and be ready for training camp, but that's subject to change. With Trey Lance (ankle) expected to be healthy by the offseason program, Purdy will be playing catch up no matter what happens during the upcoming operation.

Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Another full practice Wednesday
Mahomes (ankle) was a full practice participant Wednesday.
As has been the case since suffering a right high-ankle sprain during the Chiefs' divisional-round win against the Jaguars, Mahomes continues to have no listed limitations on the practice field. Head coach Andy Reid spoke of Mahomes' health Wednesday, telling James Palmer of NFL Network that the quarterback now is able to handle approximately the entire offensive playbook. With that in mind, Mahomes again appears poised to enter the weekend without a designation for Super Bowl LVII versus the Eagles on Sunday.
