Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Not ready to start

Jackson (knee) is not in line to start Saturday's game against the Falcons, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Per the report, coach John Harbaugh relayed that Tyler Huntley (shoulder) is slated to start the contest, with Jackson now targeting a potential return to the starting lineup in Week 17 against the Steelers.

  • Tyler Huntley QB | BAL

Ravens' Tyler Huntley: Set to start Saturday

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Huntley (shoulder) is in line to start Saturday's game against the Falcons, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Harbaugh said he had no concern about the health of Huntley's right shoulder, while the quarterback himself said "I'm good" after taking part in Thursday's practice. As a result, Huntley is now in line to make his third straight start in place of Lamar Jackson (knee), who is expected to remain sidelined after failing to practice in any fashion this week.

  • Tyler Huntley QB | BAL

Ravens' Tyler Huntley: Throws at Thursday's practice

Huntley (right shoulder) -- who was limited at practice Wednesday -- was able to throw during Thursday's session, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

With Lamar Jackson (knee) still not practicing, Hensley indicates that Huntley is trending toward starting at QB for the Ravens on Saturday against the Falcons. Look for added clarity on that front to arrive once the team's final injury report of the week is posted Thursday.

Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Still not practicing

Jackson (knee) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Meanwhile, fellow QB Tyler Huntley was throwing Thursday after being listed as limited at practice Wednesday by a right shoulder issue. The Ravens' upcoming injury report will reveal whether Jackson has any chance to play Saturday against the Falcons, but his ongoing absence from practice suggests that Huntley is trending toward drawing another start in Week 16.

  • Eagles' Gardner Minshew: Named Week 16 starter

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said Thursday that Minshew will start Saturday's game in Dallas, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.

Though Sirianni noted that MVP candidate Jalen Hurts pushed to play through his sprained throwing shoulder, the Eagles won't take any chances with their top signal-caller after he failed to practice in any fashion Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect Hurts to be formally ruled out for the Week 16 contest following Thursday's practice, leaving third-stringer Ian Book to dress as the backup to Minshew, who picks up his first start of the season after making his other three appearances in 2022 at the tail end of blowouts. Minshew previously made two starts in place of Hurts in the 2021 season and fared well in those outings, completing 67.2 percent of his throws for 7.4 yards per attempt and a 4:1 TD:INT. Given his past performance and favorable team context, Minshew should make for a viable lineup option in leagues that start two quarterbacks or have a superflex spot available.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Set to miss Saturday's game

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said Thursday that he doesn't expect Hurts (shoulder) to be available to play Saturday in Dallas, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports. "It's looking like it's going to be Gardner [Minshew]," Sirianni said, when asked who would serve as the Eagles' starting quarterback in Week 16.

According to Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Sirianni praised Hurts' toughness and said that the signal-caller pushed to play this weekend, but after not practicing Tuesday and Wednesday, Hurts looks as though he'll miss his first game of the season. Expect the Eagles to formally rule Hurts out for the Week 16 contest following Thursday's practice, paving the way for Ian Book to dress as the backup behind Minshew. Hurts, who is recovering from a right shoulder sprain, will turn his focus to getting healthy in advance of the Eagles' Week 17 game Jan. 1 versus the Saints.

  • Brock Purdy QB | SF

49ers' Brock Purdy: Logs limited practice Wednesday

Purdy (oblique/ribs) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Purdy continues to deal with the oblique and rib issues that he sustained Week 14 against the Buccaneers. According to David Lombardi of The Athletic, Purdy seemed to ramp up the intensity of his passes Wednesday, but he still is enduring a cap on his practice reps. After Wednesday's session, Purdy told Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area that he's feeling better during Week 16 prep than he was last week, which may be a result of the longer turnaround after the 49ers played last Thursday in Seattle. In any case, Thursday's injury report will clarify whether or not Purdy has a designation ahead of Saturday's game against the Commanders.

  • Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN

Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Could be lost for season

Tannehill (ankle), who didn't practice Wednesday, could be done for the season, Joe Rexrode of The Athletic reports.

The Titans haven't yet determined if the veteran quarterback will require surgery to address the ankle injury he sustained in the Titans' Week 15 loss to the Chargers. If surgery is ultimately required, Tannehill would likely be officially shut down for the season, paving the way for rookie Malik Willis to start the final three games of the campaign and any postseason contests that follow. Tannehill hasn't officially been ruled out for this Saturday's game against the Texans, but all signs point to Willis starting that contest, at a minimum.

  • John Wolford QB | MIN

Rams' John Wolford: Still not practicing

Wolford (neck) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Wolford hasn't logged any on-field activity since playing the first possession of the Rams' Week 14 win against the Raiders. A lingering neck injury is to blame, and he may be trending toward a second consecutive absence Sunday versus Denver if he remains a non-participant in practices Thursday and Friday. In any case, Baker Mayfield seems poised to run the Rams offense down the stretch as long as he's healthy, so Wolford may be afforded all the time he needs to get back to 100 percent.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Broncos' Russell Wilson: Not listed on injury report

Wilson (concussion) isn't listed on the Week 16 injury report ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Rams.

Wilson cleared the concussion protocol last week but was held out of an eventual win over the Cardinals anyway. Now that he's further removed from the head injury, Wilson will return to the starting job, as confirmed by head coach Nathaniel Hackett on Wednesday.
