John Wolford QB | MIN
Rams' John Wolford: Absent from injury report
Wolford (neck) is not listed on the Rams' injury report after Wednesday's practice, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
Wolford was sidelined for the Rams' game against the Panthers prior to their bye week. His full participation at practice indicates he is good to go heading into their Week 8 matchup with the 49ers. Barring any setbacks, he will presumably back up Matthew Stafford under center.

Derek Carr QB | NO
Raiders' Derek Carr: Limited by back issue
Carr was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to a back issue, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
Carr is among the eight Raiders who was listed as a limited participant Wednesday, but as long as the quarterback is able to return to a full practice by Friday, he'll have a chance to approach Sunday's game against the Saints minus an injury designation.

Baker Mayfield QB | TB
Panthers' Baker Mayfield: Past ankle sprain
Mayfield (ankle) isn't listed on the Panthers' injury report Wednesday.
While Mayfield has put his left high-ankle sprain behind him, he won't get the starting nod over PJ Walker on Sunday in Atlanta. There's also the prospect of Sam Darnold (ankle) being activated from injured reserve in the near future, which would serve as another impediment for Mayfield in the quarterback room. At least for Week 8, though, Mayfield will be Carolina's No. 2 signal-caller.

Mac Jones QB | SF
Patriots' Mac Jones: Off injury report and starting
Jones is slated to start Sunday's game against the Jets, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald and Field Yates of ESPN report.
Moreover, Jones isn't listed on the Patriots' Week 8 injury report, which suggests that the quarterback isn't expected to have any restrictions Sunday after missing Weeks 4 through 6 due to an ankle sprain. In his return from a three-game absence in Monday's 33-14 loss to the Bears, Jones started and completed three of six passes for 13 yards and a pick and ran three times for 24 yards before giving way to Bailey Zappe. Following the Week 7 contest, head coach Bill Belichick declined to confirm the team's starting quarterback for the game against the Jets, but after taking the bulk of the Patriots' first-team reps in practice Wednesday, Jones is in line to get the nod.

Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN
Titans' Ryan Tannehill: Listed as non-participant
Tannehill (ankle) is listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Head coach Mike Vrabel said he expected Tannehill to be a limited participant in the Titans' first Week 8 practice session, but the quarterback apparently didn't do enough to be designated as such. Tannehill missed only one play in Sunday's 19-10 win over the Colts and said Wednesday that his right ankle sprain is improving, perhaps allowing him to avoid missed time. At the very least, his mobility will be limited this Sunday against the Texans, lessening the already limited fantasy appeal in a game where both teams will want to run the ball a lot. If Tannehill isn't ready to play Sunday, rookie Malik Willis presumably will step in as the starter.
-
Aaron Rodgers QB | PIT
Packers' Aaron Rodgers: Begins Week 8 prep with DNP
Rodgers (thumb) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice.
As has been the norm for three weeks running, Rodgers is kicking off prep for an upcoming game with no activity as he tends to an injured right thumb. He'll likely graduate to full participation Thursday, clearing the way for him to suit up Sunday in Buffalo. While Rodgers has played through the pain the last two games, the results on the field have remained uneven, with 5.8 yards per attempt and just 440 yards passing as the Packers have dropped three straight contests. Assuming he gains clearance to play Week 8, Rodgers will have a tough task on his hands against the 5-1 Bills.

Mac Jones QB | SF
Patriots' Mac Jones: On track for Week 8 start
Jones took about 90 percent of the Patriots' first-team quarterback reps at practice Wednesday and is in line to start Sunday against the Jets, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Though head coach Bill Belichick has thus far declined to confirm the team's Week 8 starter, Jones is slated to retain the assignment while Bailey Zappe opens Sunday's contest as the Patriots' No. 2 signal caller. Jones has been working his way back from an ankle injury, so there's still a decent chance his name will appear on Wednesday's injury report.
-
Bailey Zappe QB | NYJ
Patriots' Bailey Zappe: Won't start this week
Zappe won't start Sunday's game against the Jets, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Mac Jones reportedly took 90 percent of the first-team reps in practice Wednesday, two days after he was pulled in favor of Zappe in the second quarter of an eventual 33-14 loss to the Bears. Zappe got off to a quick start but then struggled after halftime, and Jones' ankle seems to be feeling better heading into Week 8. Expect Jones to have a longer leash Sunday and play the full game unless his ankle acts up or if he struggles mightily.

Jameis Winston QB | NYG
Saints' Jameis Winston: Won't start despite being healthy
Head coach Dennis Allen said Andy Dalton will start over Winston in Sunday's game against the Raiders, despite the Saints now considering Winston to be healthy, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Winston was active as a backup for the past two games, but it was unclear to what extent, if any, his back and ankle injuries had on Dalton serving as the starter. Whatever the case, Dalton is set for another start Sunday against the Raiders, while Winston will continue in the backup role even though his health is no longer a concern. The question now is how long Dalton can keep the job before the Saints look to make another change.

Andy Dalton QB | PHI
Saints' Andy Dalton: Named Week 8 starter
Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Dalton will start Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Dalton will pick up his fifth consecutive start this weekend, with Allen notably adding that the Saints now consider Jameis Winston to be healthy, per Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. The implication is that Dalton has moved ahead of his teammate on the depth chart, rather than merely being an injury replacement while Winston finishes up his recovery from back and ankle injuries. Of course, Dalton could also cede the job to Winston as soon as Week 9 if he doesn't perform well against the Raiders.
