  • Jordan Mims RB | TEN

Saints' Jordan Mims: Signed to active roster

The Saints signed Mims to the active roster Saturday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Mims signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent April 29 but failed to make the team's 53-man roster. He signed with the Saints' practice squad Aug. 31 and is now on the active roster as a depth backfield option behind Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller, with Jamaal Williams (hamstring) working his way back from injured reserve. Mims rushed for 1,370 yards and 18 touchdowns on 261 carries in his final season at Fresno State.

  • Nick Bawden RB | HOU

Jets' Nick Bawden: Gets questionable tag for Sunday

Bawden is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles with a calf injury.

After sitting out the Jets' first Week 6 practice Wednesday, Bawden upgraded to limited participation Thursday and then full activity Friday. He should have a good chance at suiting up Sunday, but his availability won't be confirmed until the Jets release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. The only fullback on the Jets' roster, Bawden has dressed for each of the team's first five games and scored a one-yard touchdown on his lone carry this season.

  • Kene Nwangwu RB | NYJ

Vikings' Kene Nwangwu: Unlikely to play at Chicago

Nwangwu (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at the Bears.

Per Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, coach Kevin O'Connell said Friday that Nwangwu probably won't return from Minnesota's injured reserve list in Week 6. For now, that would leave just Cam Akers and Ty Chandler as change-of-pace options behind Alexander Mattison at running back Sunday.

  • Khalil Herbert RB | NYJ

Bears' Khalil Herbert: Heads to IR

The Bears placed Herbert (ankle) on injured reserve Friday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Herbert will be out for at least four games and won't be eligible to play until a Thursday matchup Nov. 9 with the Panthers in Week 10. The Bears will also be without Roschon Johnson (concussion) and Travis Homer (hamstring) in Week 6, leaving D'Onta Foreman and Darrynton Evans as the available running backs for Sunday's game against Minnesota. Given that he's reportedly dealing with a high-ankle sprain, Herbert may not be a safe bet to return from IR when first eligible Week 10.

  • Lions' David Montgomery: Poised for three-down role again

Montgomery is expected to serve as the Lions' top pass-catching option out of the backfield in addition to handling his usual duties as the team's lead runner in Sunday's game against the Buccaneers with Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) ruled out for a second straight week.

While Gibbs was sidelined for last week's 42-24 win over the Panthers, Montgomery operated as a three-down workhorse, playing 90 percent of the running-back snaps through the first three quarters before backup Craig Reynolds picked up more work in the fourth once the outcome was in less doubt. For the fourth time in as many appearances on the season, Montgomery logged double-digit carries (19, for 109 yards and a touchdown), but the absence of Gibbs paved the way for Montgomery to see his most involvement in the passing game to date. After drawing just three targets total over his first three appearances, Montgomery was targeted six times Week 5, finishing with two catches for 20 yards. Another healthy workload on the ground and through the air should be in store for Montgomery on Sunday, making him a must-start option in the majority of fantasy leagues.

  • 49ers' Elijah Mitchell: Questionable for Sunday

Mitchell (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Cleveland, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

A return to practice Thursday gives Mitchell at least some chance to avoid a third straight absence due to a knee injury suffered during practice. Jordan Mason has been filling in as the No. 2 RB behind Christian McCaffrey, with the role mostly consisting of garbage-time carries.

  • Cardinals' Keaontay Ingram: Cleared to play

Ingram (neck) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Rams, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.

Ingram upgraded to full practice participation Friday, and his impending return creates questions about the backfield pecking order for Arizona. Undrafted rookie Emari Demercado played every single snap in the second half of last week's loss to Cincinnati after James Conner (IR - knee) was knocked out, but the Cardinals then listed Ingram atop their Week 6 depth chart, with coach Jonathan Gannon offering nothing more than coachspeak that's of little use to fantasy managers. Odds are both Demercado and Ingram get touches this weekend, but the split will be tough to predict ahead of time.

  • Jahmyr Gibbs RB | DET

Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Ruled out for Week 6

Gibbs (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Tampa Bay, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Gibbs hurt his hamstring at the end of last Friday's practice and now will miss a second straight game. His failure to practice this week suggests he's also at risk of missing Week 7 in Baltimore, though the Lions haven't commented on expectations beyond this Sunday. They're left with Craig Reynolds behind lead back David Montgomery, while Zonovan Knight (shoulder) is expected to miss the rest of the season.

  • Giants' Gary Brightwell: Questionable for Sunday at Bills

Brightwell (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Buffalo, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.

After sitting out practice Thursday, Brightwell was a limited participant Friday, giving himself at least a chance to play in Week 6. With Saquon Barkley (ankle) also listed as questionable, the Giants go into the weekend with Matt Breida and Eric Gray as their only certainties at running back.

  • Tony Pollard RB | TEN

Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Upgrades to full practice

Pollard (shoulder) was a full practice participant Friday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

The quick return to full participation after one limited session suggests Pollard should be ready for his usual workload Monday night against the Chargers. Only two teams have allowed more fantasy points per game to RBs, and Pollard has dominated the Dallas backfield work in competitive situations this year.
