Ford (hamstring) returned to practice Tuesday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Ford had been nursing a hamstring injury, but now that he's back on the field, he'll look to cement his role as Nick Chubb's top backup. Also in the Browns' backfield mix in the wake of Tuesday's roster cuts is recent trade acquisition Pierre Strong, who slots in as a change-of-pace option for the team.

Burns was waived by the Bears on Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Burns joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of UConn in May and was working to unseat Khari Blasingame for the team's fullback duties. Ultimately though, the 24-year-old was unable to do so and now should be considered a candidate for a practice squad spot.

The Eagles waived/injured Sermon (undisclosed) on Tuesday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Sermon reportedly got injured during Philadelphia's final preseason game, in which he posted a 16-30-1 rushing line while fellow RBs D'Andre Swift, Rashaad Penny, Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott all were rested. Sermon can negotiate an injury settlement with the Eagles and then search for a new team if he passes through waivers unclaimed Wednesday morning.

Rodriguez has a spot on Washington's initial 53-man roster, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

The sixth-round rookie out of Kentucky is one of three running backs, behind Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson. While he can't match Gibson's speed and receiving skills, the 224-pound Rodriguez might be able to do a reasonable impression of Robinson in the trenches if tasked with filling in for him this year. Rodriguez had seven carries for 52 yards in Washington's final preseason game to lock down a roster spot ahead of Jonathan Williams (undisclosed) and Jaret Patterson.

The Cardinals are slated to release Clement on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Clement failed to beat out Keaontay Ingram and Emari Demercado during the preseason, but he won't be subjected to waivers and can immediately begin testing the waters for a depth opportunity elsewhere. In nine appearances with Arizona last season, Clement turned 15 carries into 55 yards and one touchdown. He also caught five of seven targets for 54 yards.

The Vikings waived McBride on Tuesday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Despite Alexander Mattison and Kene Nwangwu missing the entire preseason due to undisclosed injuries, McBride didn't appear to be in serious consideration for a spot on the Vikings' initial 53-man roster. Assuming McBride clears waivers, the team may bring the 2023 seventh-rounder back as a member of its 16-man practice squad.

Williams was waived by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Williams has bounced around some since his rookie campaign with the Ravens in 2021. The BYU product spent part of the 2022 season on Arizona's practice squad and did suit up for one contest, securing a catch for a five-yard gain in the process.

Gore was waived by the Commanders on Tuesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

Gore joined the squad in July after a stint with the Saints. Best known for his run with the Chiefs in 2021, the UL Monroe product is a strong candidate to be brought back to Washington's practice squad, according to Keim.

Abanikanda (thigh) is slated to practice Tuesday, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.

Coach Robert Saleh noted his surprise at how quickly Abanikanda was able to bounce back from a thigh contusion. Now that the 2023 fifth-rounder is back on the field, he'll gear up for Week 1 action, at which time he's slated to work in a depth role behind Breece Hall (knee), Dalvin Cook (shoulder) and Michael Carter.

Tennessee is slated to waive Patrick on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Patrick linked up with the Titans mid-August, but he won't stick around ahead of Tuesday's deadline to trim down to a 53-man roster. However, Wilson reports that he's likely to resurface via the practice squad if he clears waivers, by virtue of his solid preseason.
