Vaughn rushed five times for 14 yards and a touchdown, brought in his only target for minus-1 yard and returned two kickoffs for 38 yards in the Cowboys' 22-14 preseason loss to the Seahawks on Saturday night.

Vaughn didn't see any touches until the second half, with Rico Dowdle and Malik Davis both slotting in ahead of him. Although he was nowhere near as efficient on a per-carry basis as during Dallas' preseason-opening loss to the Jaguars, Vaughn still made the highlight reel with a nifty 14-yard touchdown run on which he spun away from would-be tacklers to cap off the Cowboys' first second-half drive. He's essentially a lock for a roster spot already, so he may actually see modest playing time in next Saturday night's exhibition finale versus the Raiders while Dowdle and Davis likely play out the final chapter of their job battle.

Davis rushed eight times for 32 yards and returned one kickoff for 20 yards in the Cowboys' 22-14 preseason loss to the Seahawks on Saturday night.

Davis tied Rico Dowdle, who was the first Cowboys back to log a touch, for the team lead in carries and was second to him in rushing yards during what was a productive night for both backs. The second-year pro was exponentially better on the ground than during a preseason-opening loss to the Jaguars in which he netted only four yards on three carries; however, Dowdle's own solid night likely leaves the two very close in their job battle for a backup role heading into next Saturday night's preseason finale versus the Raiders.

Dowdle rushed eight times for 38 yards and brought in two of three targets for nine yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys' 22-14 preseason loss to the Seahawks on Saturday night. He also returned one kickoff for 23 yards.

Dowdle tied with Malik Davis for the team lead in carries and set the pace in rushing yards. The 25-year-old, who was the first Dallas running back to log a touch Saturday, could be making up ground on Davis for a roster spot after two solid exhibition efforts. He should have a final chance to make a case for himself in next Saturday night's home preseason finale against the Raiders.

Evans rushed eight times for 20 yards and brought in his only target for seven yards during the Rams' 34-17 preseason loss to the Raiders on Saturday night.

Evans didn't log his first carry until the third quarter but finished just one rush attempt behind backfield mate Ronnie Rivers, who set the pace in that category. The rookie sixth-round pick was more productive on a per-carry basis during his pro debut against the Chargers last week, but Evans appears to have a solid shot of securing a practice squad spot at minimum with his cumulative body of work going into next Saturday night's preseason finale versus the Broncos.

Rivers rushed nine times for 42 yards in the Rams' 34-17 preseason loss to the Raiders on Saturday night. He also returned one kickoff for 18 yards.

The undrafted second-year pro was the first Rams running back to log a touch and ended up pacing the team in carries and rushing yards. Rivers outpaced rookie Zach Evans by just one rush attempt, but he was seven ahead of veteran Royce Freeman, who could be his primary competition for a roster spot heading into next Saturday night's preseason finale against the Broncos.

Stevenson rushed four times for 27 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason win over Green Bay.

Stevenson made his debut with the rest of the regulars Saturday, ripping off a 23-yard gain and scoring a touchdown as he lines up to start for New England this season. He did not record a catch but is reportedly expected to see plenty of passing game work after grabbing an unexpected 69 receptions last year. The bruising back also eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing threshold in his second season as pro in 2022. The signing of Ezekiel Elliott (DNP on Saturday) hurts Stevenson's fantasy value if the veteran eats into his projected share of carries or becomes a touchdown vulture. We will find out how the playing time is distributed once the season kicks off, but Stevenson should be considered the starting back and preferred fantasy option in New England's backfield.

White rushed 10 times for 40 yards and brought in his only target for nine yards in the Raiders' 34-17 preseason win over the Rams on Saturday night.

White got the first touch among the Raiders' running backs and ended up leading the team in carries and rushing yards. The 2022 fourth-round pick has a chance to open the season as the No. 1 running back given Josh Jacobs' ongoing absence due to a contract dispute, and after logging 23 carries over the first two preseason games, White may be rested in next Saturday night's road preseason finale against the Cowboys ahead of Week 1.

McBride carried the ball six times for 18 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 24-16 preseason loss to the Titans.

McBride saw only one carry in the first half, during which Ty Chandler earned the majority of the work. McBride did take the field more in the second half, highlighted by a one-yard touchdown plunge with just under six minutes remaining in the game. His usage suggests he's currently fourth on the depth chart, as neither Alexander Mattison (undisclosed) and Kene Nwangwu (undisclosed) suited up.

Spears rushed the ball seven times for 57 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 24-16 preseason over the Vikings.

Spears was the first back on the field and played three offensive possessions with Derrick Henry sitting out. He ended his appearance in style by ripping off a 33-yard touchdown, during which he hurdled a defender near the line of scrimmage before showcasing breakaway speed to find the corner of the end zone. Spears will enter the season as the backup to Derrick Henry but should offer big-play ability as a change-of-pace back.

Hull had four carries for 13 yards and lost a yard on his lone reception in Saturday's preseason win over Chicago.

Neither Hull nor Deon Jackson were overly impressive after strong first preseason games, but both worked with the second-team offensive line as all starters on offense were rested. With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Zack Moss (arm) sidelined, Hull could have a large role to begin the regular season. He could still be in competition for a third-down role even when Taylor returns, as the Northwestern product was an outstanding receiver out of the backfield with the Wildcats (55 receptions in 2022) .
