Atlanta signed Foreman to the practice squad Wednesday, John Deighton of the team's official site reports.

Foreman and fellow running back Caleb Huntley both inked with the Falcons' practice squad after clearing waivers. Atlanta currently only has Qadree Ollison and Cordarrelle Patterson on the roster behind starter Mike Davis, so both Foreman and Huntley could be real candidates to bump up to the 53-man squad should any positional injuries occur.

The Broncos informed Freeman on Wednesday that he will be waived, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Freeman appeared to be in a position to begin the coming season as the Broncos' No. 3 back due to Mike Boone's quadriceps injury, but with the team making waiver claims Wednesday, the 2018 second-round selection was let go. Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams continue to top Denver's backfield depth chart.

The Broncos claimed McCrary off waivers on Wednesday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

McCrary spent the offseason in Baltimore, but he'll now get a chance to compete for a depth role in Denver's running back room. The undrafted rookie out of Saginaw Valley State didn't play in 2020, but in 2019 he rushed for 1,060 yards and 10 touchdowns on just 167 carries.

Kamara and the Saints will play their Week 1 game against the Packers in Jacksonville after the contest was moved from New Orleans due to the impact of Hurricane Ida, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

It's a change that benefits Green Bay, with the Saints essentially losing a home game at the Superdome and instead playing outdoors in what likely will be hot weather. Kamara is still a strong RB1 play in all formats, but it's possible he plays a few less snaps than usual if it's a hot day in Jacksonville.

The Rams waived Anderson on Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Anderson signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of UFC this offseason. He rushed for 1,413 yards and nine touchdowns while catching 45 passes for 444 yards and three more scores across 22 games in his final two collegiate seasons. The rookie had limited reps during his first preseason, catching just two passes for 16 yards.

Penny was one of five running backs to make the Seahawks' 53-man roster released Tuesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Penny struggled during the preseason, but the exhibition snaps were more about him getting back into the swing of things after having logged just 11 carries since tearing his ACL in 2019. However, Penny's underwhelming performance allowed Alex Collins to sneak into the No. 2 running back conversation. For fantasy managers, Penny isn't a surefire insurance policy to Chris Carson, though he may have the most upside.

Homer was one of five running backs to make the team's initial roster. The 23-year-old is the team's best pass-blocking running back, so he should be locked into some playing time protecting quarterback Russell Wilson. However, he likely won't yield much fantasy value.

Dallas may be the Seahawks' best route runner out of the backfield, and his preseason work as a returner likely helped guarantee him a role on the 53-man roster. However, he'll still struggle to earn much playing time on offense, as Travis Homer is considered the team's best pass-blocking running back, while Rashaad Penny and Alex Collins are the next men up behind Chris Carson.

The Rams have officially placed Akers (Achilles) on the reserve/non-football injury list, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.

Akers suffered a torn Achilles in July while readying himself for training camp, kicking it off on the active/non-football injury list. Now with the preseason and roster cuts behind them, the Rams made the procedural move and put him on the reserve version of the list. In Akers' absence, the team is poised to ride Darrell Henderson (thumb) and Sony Michel out of the backfield.

Brown was waived by the Panthers on Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

An undrafted rookie, Brown was unable to beat out Chuba Hubbard and Trenton Cannon to be Christian McCaffrey's backup. Brown was an exciting athlete at UAB with 4,011 yards and 41 touchdowns over four seasons. He would be a valuable addition to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
