• Panthers' AJ Dillon: Estimated as full participant Wednesday

  Rotowire Oct 21, 2026

Dillon (ankle) was estimated as a full participant on the Panthers' official injury report Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports. Dillon sat out Sunday's game at Philadelphia because of an ankle injury, but it looks like he's on pace to return to action in Week 7. He figures to continue to play a change-of-pace role in Carolina's backfield behind bell cow Chuba Hubbard.

• Panthers' AJ Dillon: Ruled out for Week 6

  Rotowire Oct 16, 2026

Dillon (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Eagles. Meanwhile, RB Trevor Etienne (ankle) is listed as questionable and may be activated for injured reserve over the weekend. Either way, Chuba Hubbard figures to handle a large workload again.

• Panthers' AJ Dillon: Dealing with ankle issue

  Rotowire Oct 14, 2026

Dillon (ankle) did not participate at practice Wednesday. It's not clear when Dillon suffered the ankle injury, but it puts his availability for Week 6 in doubt. He'll likely have to return to practice Thursday or Friday to put himself back on track to play Sunday at Philadelphia.

• Panthers' AJ Dillon: Loses yardage on three carries Sunday

  Rotowire Sep 22, 2026

Dillon handled three carries for minus-3 yards during Sunday's 34-3 win at Atlanta. He also recorded a tackle in punt coverage. Dillon once again was not really involved in Week 2 until the game was well in hand, although this time the lopsided result was in the Panthers' favor, and the Falcons evidently knew the run was coming. Carolina may have to lean on him more in Week 3 if 2024 second-rounder Jonathon Brooks (groin) ends up being unavailable.

• Panthers' AJ Dillon: Gets garbage-time work in loss

  Rotowire Sep 14, 2026

Dillon handled five carries for 28 yards during Sunday's 59-37 loss versus the Bears. All of Dillon's touches came during Carolina's last drive of the game, when Chicago was leading by 22 points with less than four minutes remaining and more than content to let the Panthers run out the clock. Chuba Hubbard and 2024 second-rounder Jonathon Brooks project to remain clearly ahead of Dillon for carries going into Week 2.

• Panthers' AJ Dillon: Picked up by Panthers

  Rotowire Mar 18, 2026

Dillon agreed to terms Wednesday on a one-year contract with Carolina, Glenn Erby of USA Today reports. Dillon spent last year handling a depth role for the Eagles, logging 12 carries for 60 yards and three catches for 21 yards across seven regular-season appearances. Now with Carolina, Dillon figures to compete for a reserve role and short-yardage work behind incumbent starter Chuba Hubbard, with Jonathon Brooks (knee) and Trevor Etienne already battling for touches. Dillon lacks a clear path to fantasy relevance for the 2026 campaign.

• Eagles' AJ Dillon: Ends season with 60 yards

  Rotowire Jan 12, 2026

Dillon finished the 2025 regulars season with 12 carries for 60 yards and three catches for 21 yards across seven games. Dillon entered the year looking like Saquon Barkley's primary backup, but the Eagles were clearly unimpressed with his work, acquiring Tank Bigsby from the Jaguars after Week 1 to fill that role. Dillon held onto a limited role for a few more weeks, but his only game action after Week 6 came in Week 18, with the Eagles resting their starters.

• Eagles' AJ Dillon: Healthy scratch Week 17

  Rotowire Dec 28, 2025

Dillon (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills. Dillon has not appeared in a regular-season game since Week 6 against the Giants, and his last opportunity to do so is Week 18 against the Commanders. Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley will continue to serve as the Eagles' rotational running backs behind Saquon Barkley.

• Eagles' AJ Dillon: Three touches in Week 6

  Rotowire Oct 10, 2025

Dillon carried the ball once for two yards and caught a pair of passes for 18 yards in Thursday's loss to the Giants. Dillon received his first two targets of the year, but overall his workload remained minimal. He's yet to receive more than three touches or see the field for more than 10 offensive snaps in a game this season.

• Eagles' AJ Dillon: Two carries in loss

  Rotowire Oct 7, 2025

Dillon carried the ball twice for 12 yards in Sunday's loss to the Broncos. Dillon has seen between five and 10 offensive snaps in all five games this season, never touching the ball more than three times. He's been efficient in that very small sample, averaging 5.3 yards on 11 total carries, but he would need an injury to Saquon Barkley to find his way to fantasy relevance.

• Eagles' AJ Dillon: Minor role again in Week 4

  Rotowire Sep 30, 2025

Dillon carried the ball three times for 17 yards in Sunday's 31-25 win over Tampa Bay. Will Shipley returned from an oblique injury, but Dillon remained the No. 2 back behind Saquon Barkley, seeing the field for eight offensive snaps compared to Shipley's three. Unless Barkley gets hurt, however, Dillon is unlikely to see enough snaps to have much fantasy relevance.

• Eagles' AJ Dillon: Small role as Barkley's backup

  Rotowire Sep 15, 2025

Dillon was elevated to No. 2 running back for Sunday's game against the Chiefs due to Will Shipley's rib injury but carried the ball just three times for 19 yards. Dillon had at least 178 carries for three straight seasons with the Packers before missing 2024 with a neck injury, but his role in Philadelphia seems destined to be much smaller. He played just eight offensive snaps in the season opener and just nine in Week 2, carrying the ball just three times in each game. It would take an injury to Saquon Barkley for Dillon's role to significantly expand.

• Eagles' AJ Dillon: Three carries after Shipley injury

  Rotowire Sep 5, 2025

Dillon rushed three times for 10 yards and wasn't targeted in Thursday's 24-20 win over the Cowboys. Dillon didn't register a touch until the second half. He opened the game as the No. 3 running back behind Saquon Barkley and Will Shipley, but Shipley left the game due to a rib injury late in the first half, allowing Dillon to climb a rung on the depth chart. Dillon could hold on to a change-of-pace role against the Chiefs in Week 2 if Shipley doesn't play, but Barkley should continue to get the vast majority of touches among Philadelphia's running backs regardless.

• Eagles' AJ Dillon: Not slated to play Friday

  Rotowire Aug 22, 2025

Dillon isn't in line to play in Friday's preseason game at the Jets, EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. After sitting out the 2024 season due to complications stemming from a stinger, Dillon joined the Eagles on a one-year contract in March. He then suited up for both of the team's first two exhibitions, totaling eight carries for 34 yards and four catches for 13 yards. He's been listed as Philadelphia's third RB on the unofficial depth chart behind Saquon Barkley and Will Shipley during training camp, which may not afford him much more than short-yardage work once Week 1 rolls around.

• Eagles' AJ Dillon: Ahead of Shipley on Day 1

  Rotowire Jul 23, 2025

Dillon got reps with the first-team offense before Will Shipley on Wednesday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports. It probably doesn't mean much on the first day of training camp, with the Eagles initially deferring to Dillon's experience (597 carries in 60 regular-season games) over Shipley's familiarity (he was the team's third-string RB last year). Dillon seems to be back at full health after a neck injury last August ended his fifth season with the Packers before it even got started. He signed a one-year contract in Philadelphia this spring, getting less than $200,000 guaranteed but with a chance to replace Kenneth Gainwell (who is now with the Steelers) as the team's No. 2 RB. While Shipley is a recent fourth-round pick and surely more nimble, Dillon's 240-plus-pound frame could have some value to the Eagles if Saquon Barkley were to miss time.

• Eagles' AJ Dillon: Finds new home in Philly

  Rotowire Mar 12, 2025

The Eagles and Dillon (neck) agreed to terms on a one-year contract Wednesday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports. Dillon sustained stingers in Week 17 of the 2023 campaign and also during the 2024 preseason, which kept him on injured reserve this past season. Per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Dillon has received clearance from a top neck specialist, allowing him a new opportunity in Philadelphia, where he'll compete with 2024 fourth-round selection Will Shipley as the top backup behind workhorse running back Saquon Barkley.

• Packers' AJ Dillon: Hits injured reserve

  Rotowire Aug 27, 2024

The Packers placed Dillon (neck) on injured reserve Tuesday, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports. For the second time in the calendar year 2024, Dillon is dealing with a stinger, which will end his upcoming season before it even begins. With Dillon on IR, Josh Jacobs will have unfettered access to Green Bay's backfield, while rookie third-rounder MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) and Emanuel Wilson serve as the reserves to begin the campaign.

• Packers' AJ Dillon: Dealing with stinger

  Rotowire Aug 20, 2024

Dillon (shoulder) is not practicing Tuesday due to a stinger, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Dillon's injury could prevent him from suiting up for Saturday's preseason finale against the Ravens, though he has plenty of time to recovery ahead of Green Bay's regular-season opener against the Eagles on Sept. 6. The veteran running back is looking like the favorite to open the 2024 campaign as the top backup to Josh Jacobs, thanks in part to the fact that rookie third-round pick MarShawn Lloyd is dealing with a hamstring injury.

• Packers' AJ Dillon: Quiet in preseason opener

  Rotowire Aug 12, 2024

Dillon had four carries for two yards in Saturday's preseason opener against the Browns. Dillon did not do much in the first game of the exhibition season, but he only saw action on Green Bay's second drive before calling it a day. Dillon looks like the favorite to snag the backup running back job behind Josh Jacobs -- particularly with rookie MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) missing time with a couple leg injuries -- but Emanuel Wilson is also contending for the job.

• Packers' AJ Dillon: Praised by coach at camp

  Rotowire Jul 23, 2024

Coach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday that Dillon has arrived at camp in the best shape he's ever seen him, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. The 247-pound back has always relied on power more than speed and agility, but even by that standard he looked sluggish last season en route to 3.4 yards per carry across 178 totes. Dillon's YPC mark has dropped with each passing year since the Packers took him late in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and he failed to put up fantasy-worthy numbers last season even when Aaron Jones was inactive. Jones is now gone, replaced by Josh Jacobs and third-round pick MarShawn Lloyd, but the latter is absent from early training camp practices due to a hip injury. There are perhaps still obstacles ahead, namely Lloyd, but it sounds like Dillon is off to a strong start in his quest to maintain the No. 2 spot on Green Bay's backfield depth chart. Dillon re-signed with the Packers in March on a one-year, $2.74 million contract.
