  • Benny Snell RB | DET

Steelers' Benny Snell: Logs three carries in Week 9

Snell recorded three carries for one yard in Sunday's 24-19 win over the Cowboys.

Snell saw the least usage of any Steelers running back Sunday as most of his workload came on special teams once again. The 22-year-old saw some goal-line carries earlier in the season, but his role in the offense has greatly diminished in recent weeks as he's logged just five offensive snaps over the past two games.

  • Steelers' Anthony McFarland: Garners five touches in Dallas

McFarland recorded three carries for seven yards while hauling in both of his targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 24-19 win over the Cowboys.

McFarland's eight offensive snaps Sunday slightly outpaced Benny Snell's five, and the 2020 fourth-rounder had his highest number of touches since Week 3. McFarland earned four touches on the Steelers' first drive of the second quarter before notching a six-yard carry in the fourth. The 21-year-old has logged double-digit snaps just twice this year and has failed to establish much of a role during his rookie season.

  • Packers' Jamaal Williams: Comes off COVID-19 list

The Packers activated Williams from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.

Williams managed to participate in Monday's practice session, a hint that his activation from the COVID-19 list was imminent. Top running back Aaron Jones returned to action during last Thursday's win over the 49ers, so Green Bay now is set to enter Sunday's game against the Jaguars with its usual backfield tandem at full health. AJ Dillon (illness) has yet to gain clearance, however, and Dexter Williams (knee) is nursing a potentially serious injury, so Tyler Ervin may end up the only reserve option behind Williams and Jones in Week 10.

  • Saints' Latavius Murray: Leads backfield in carries

Murray rushed 10 times for 39 yards and caught both of his targets for three yards in the Saints' 38-3 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Murray led the backfield in carries Sunday, though he wasn't able to get much going and totaled just 42 scoreless yards on the day. He remains involved in the offense as a change-of-pace back behind Alvin Kamara, though Murray's fantasy value is minimal if he's not finding the end zone.

  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Looks sharp in return to practice

Chubb (knee) is taking part in individual drills while wearing a brace on his right knee at Monday's practice, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

The Browns designated Chubb for return from injured reserve Monday, and Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the 24-year-old managed to show off his agility in his first practice activity since Week 4. It looks as though Chubb is trending in the right direction to retake the field against Houston on Sunday, though the Browns would first have to officially add him to the 53-man roster. It remains to be seen whether Cleveland will ease Chubb back into action when he does retake the field, or if he'll handle a full workload alongside Kareem Hunt.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Cardinals' Kenyan Drake: Still considered day-to-day

Coach Kliff Kingsbury called Drake (ankle) day-to-day on Monday, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Kingsbury also called Drake day-to-day last week before ultimately ruling the 26-year-old out for Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. In week 7, Drake suffered a slight tear of a ligament in his ankle, which he's now had roughly two weeks to tend to. If he's able to resume practicing in some capacity this week, Drake could have a shot to retake the field versus Buffalo on Nov. 15. In the event Drake is forced to miss another contest, however, Chase Edmonds once again will stand to handle Arizona's lead rushing duties.

  • Packers' Jamaal Williams: Resumes practicing Monday

Williams is participating in Monday's practice, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.

Williams' status for Week 10 still remains unclear, as reports about his presence on the reserve/COVID-19 list have been conflicting. Spofford notes that Williams has been activated off the COVID-19 list, while Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that he remains on the list as a "high-risk exposure." In any case, Williams' presence Monday represents a step in the right direction.

  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Labeled day-to-day

Coach Matt Rhule said Monday that McCaffrey is "day-to-day" after injuring his shoulder on the last drive of Sunday's 33-31 loss to the Chiefs, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Rhule confirmed that McCaffrey is slated to undergo further medical tests, per Person, and that the Panthers expect to have a better idea of his health by Wednesday's first practice session of the week. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network previously reported that McCaffrey's status is "very much in doubt" for Week 10, but Rhule's comments sound more optimistic. At any rate, Mike Davis once again would be in line to lead Carolina's backfield if McCaffrey has to miss any more time.

  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Designated for return to practice

The Browns designated Chubb (knee) for return from injured reserve Monday.

Chubb's recovery timeframe puts him on track to resume practicing this week and potentially retake the field against Houston on Sunday, and being designated to return from IR is the first step in that process. A sprained MCL in his right knee has sidelined Chubb since Week 4, during which time Kareem Hunt has functioned as Cleveland's primary ball carrier. Once Chubb is back at full strength, he and Hunt stand to resume running as a lethal tandem.

  • Bears' David Montgomery: In concussion protocol

Montgomery suffered a concussion during Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Titans, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Montgomery got shaken up in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss, prior to which he had 14 carries for 30 yards and three catches for 12 yards (on three targets). The second-year pro now will need to clear the league's five-step concussion protocol before retaking the field, which puts his availability for Week 10's Monday Night Football contest against the Vikings in some jeopardy. With Tarik Cohen (knee) already out for the year with a torn ACL, the Bears only have Cordarrelle Patterson, Ryan Nall and Artavis Pierce behind Montgomery.
