  • Dalvin Cook RB | DAL

Vikings' Dalvin Cook: Rumbles to another massive game

Cook rushed the ball 22 times for 206 yards and two touchdowns in Week 9 against the Lions. He added two receptions for 46 yards.

Cook dominated once again and played a key role in the team's second consecutive win. He found the end zone on the team's first drive of the game from five yards away and capped his effort with a 70-yard rumble to secure the victory for the Vikings early in the fourth quarter. In between, he logged explosive plays of 29, 17 and 14 yards -- two of which came as a receiver. In two games since returning from a groin injury, Cook has racked up 369 rushing yards, 109 receiving yards and six total touchdowns. He'll look to continue his dominance in Week 10 against a stiff Bears run defense.

  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Banged up in strong return

McCaffrey rushed 18 times for 69 yards and a touchdown and brought in all 10 targets for 82 yards and another score in the Panthers' 33-31 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. However, Joseph Person of The Athletic reports McCaffrey missed the last play of the game with a rib injury of unknown severity.

McCaffrey was activated from injured reserve Saturday and was set to share time fairly evenly with Mike Davis in his first game action since Week 2. Ultimately, the Pro Bowl running back outpaced his teammate by 17 carries, and he ended up leading the team in receptions as well. McCaffrey showed no ill effects from the ankle sprain that had kept him sidelined in recent weeks, but the late-game rib injury naturally will be a source of concern for both the team and fantasy managers until more information is revealed. If he's able to suit up Week 10, McCaffrey will be in for a tough statistical matchup against a Buccaneers defense that was successful in limiting him the last three times it's faced him.

  • Bears' David Montgomery: Gets shaken up Sunday

Montgomery is under evaluation for a concussion after departing Sunday's game in Tennessee.

Montgomery was shaken up in the fourth quarter, with a head injury eventually revealed to be the concern. At the point he left the contest, he had 14 carries for 30 yards and three catches (on three targets) for 12 yards. If Montgomery needs some time away from the field, the Bears will have to trust in Cordarrelle Patterson, Ryan Nall and Artavis Pierce out of the backfield.

  • Eno Benjamin RB | NO

Cardinals' Eno Benjamin: Another healthy scratch

Benjamin (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

Benjamin has yet to be active as a professional, even with Kenyan Drake (ankle) sidelined in this one. Instead, the Cardinals have deactivated the 2020 seventh-round pick and will roll with a backfield led by Chase Edmonds, with D.J. Foster and Jonathan Ward available in a pinch.

  • Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott: Suiting up Sunday, after all

Elliott (hamstring) is listed as active Sunday versus the Steelers, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Elliott's availability for Week 9 has wavered since the Cowboys deemed him questionable for this contest due to a sore hamstring, but a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network from early Sunday had the running back trending upward again after he put in a "good" workout Saturday. After doing the same during a pregame warmup Sunday, Elliott is available but may have more of a split of the backfield work than normal with his primary backup Tony Pollard, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.com. Plus, a tough matchup against Pittsburgh's fifth-ranked run defense (96.9 yards per game) makes Elliott difficult to trust at less than 100 percent.

  • Josh Jacobs RB | GB

Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Active for Sunday's game

Jacobs (knee/illness) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Jacobs is coming off a Week 8 effort in which he logged his biggest workload of the season, racking up 31 carries for 129 yards in the Raiders' 16-6 win over the Browns, which was played in windy and less than balmy conditions in Cleveland. With Sunday's game being played at SoFi Stadium, weather won't factor into the game plan; nevertheless, barring any in-game setbacks, Jacobs still seems destined to remain fairly busy versus the Chargers, given that he's averaging 21 carries per game to date.

  • Miles Sanders RB | DAL

Eagles' Miles Sanders: Slated to practice this week

Sanders (knee) is expected to return to practice this week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports

Sanders missed all practices and both games before the Eagles' Week 9 bye due to a knee injury, but he's apparently recovered enough during the respite to be able to join his teammates on the field for Week 10 prep. With Philly slated to play next Sunday against the Giants, his initial practice status won't be known until Wednesday.

  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: In line to practice this week

Chubb (knee) is expected to practice this week with the intention to return next Sunday against the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Coach Kevin Stefanski termed Chubb day-to-day as the Browns commenced their Week 9 bye, forecasting that the running back was progressing toward his first game action since Week 4. In that contest, Chubb suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee and subsequently given a six-week recovery timetable. It remains to be seen how much work he'll get once he's back on the field, but the Browns could employ a more even split with Kareem Hunt until Chubb is back to full health.

  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Likely to rotate with Davis

McCaffrey (ankle) is expected to rotate series at running back with Mike Davis during Sunday's game in Kansas City, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The Panthers activated McCaffrey from injured reserve Saturday, clearing the way for him to play for the first time since going down with a high-ankle sprain Week 2. The 24-year-old is expected to start and should lead the backfield in touches and snaps, but coach Matt Rhule could be more judicious with McCaffrey's usage initially as he eases back in from the injury. Though McCaffrey routinely played 90-plus percent of the team's plays in 2019, the Panthers may treat him as more of an Option 1A than a true bell cow Sunday. Rapoport suggested that the distribution of the work between McCaffrey and Davis could resemble how the Saints use Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray.

  • Josh Jacobs RB | GB

Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Likely to play Week 9

Jacobs (knee/illness), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

After failing to practice Thursday, Jacobs returned to the field Friday in a limited capacity. Though he didn't finish the week as a full participant, the Raiders are apparently optimistic that Jacobs will be ready to handle his usual role as the team's lead back. Confirmation on Jacobs' status won't come until the Raiders release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes before the 4:05 p.m. kickoff, but fantasy managers can tentatively plan on having him in their lineups.
