Huntley was waived by the Lions on Saturday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.

This was a puzzling decision as Huntley, a 2020 fifth-round pick, supposedly looked solid during training camp. Expected to be the team's newest rendition of Theo Riddick, the pass-catching responsibilities will now likely fall on Ty Johnson, and to a lesser extent D'Andre Swift. If anything, the decision to waive Huntley should reinforce the notion that Swift, who has missed time in practice with an undisclosed injury, should be plenty healthy for the team's Week 1 contest against the Bears.

The Broncos waived Bellamy on Saturday, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.

Bellamy put together a modestly impressive training camp, but without the benefit of preseason exhibitions he was fighting an uphill battle to earn a spot on the final roster. If he clears waivers, the Broncos could bring back the undrafted rookie out of Western Michigan as a member of the practice squad.

Akers and Malcolm Brown have been taking first-team running back reps for the Rams of late, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

As the regular season approaches, the Rams backfield situation remains fluid and has the air of a time-share to start the campaign. Aside from Akers and Brown, Darrell Henderson also figures to factor in once he bounces back from a hamstring issue. In his latest roster projection, Eric D. Williams of Sports Illustrated marks Brown as the team's starter, but when it comes Week 1 that could simply infer that Brown -- who has been with the franchise since 2015 -- might take the first snap out of the team's backfield, with Akers (and possibly Henderson) rotating in until a hot hand emerges. Akers -- a 2020 second-rounder -- still carries the most fantasy upside of the three, but he won't be handed anything following an unusual offseason, especially with a more experienced player like Brown also in the mix.

The Chargers waived Holly on Friday, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.

Holly competed with Gabe Nabers for the starting fullback job and narrowly lost. The undrafted free agent out of Louisiana Tech could be an asset elsewhere after other teams make their cuts.

Gordon (ribs) participated in Friday's practice, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

It's unclear if Gordon practiced at full speed. Last week, head coach Vic Fangio relayed that he didn't believe Gordon's injury was serious, and since the running back was on the field a little more than a week before the season opener, there shouldn't be much concern about his Week 1 availability.

The Falcons waived Reynolds on Friday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.

Reynolds had an uphill battle to make the roster anyway, and it looks like the Falcons will stick with Todd Gurley, Brian Hill, Ito Smith and Qadree Ollison. The 24-year-old could be a practice-squad candidate.

John Reid of The Florida Times-Union lists Ozigbo as the No. 1 running back on the Jaguars' projected regular-season depth chart.

Reid appears to have adjusted the depth chart to reflect the news that Ryquell Armstead was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday. As a result, there's no telling when Armstead will be ready to join his teammates for practice, and eventually, Week 1 prep. Jacksonville's backfield is in flux following the decision to waive Leonard Fournette earlier this week. While Chris Thompson is locked in as the pass-catching option, Armstead, Ozigbo and even undrafted rookie James Robinson are vying for RB reps. Last season, Ozigbo turned 12 touches into 50 yards from scrimmage across 10 games as he primarily logged time on special teams.

The Rams waived Kelly on Friday, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.

A sixth-round selection by the Rams in 2018, Kelly has made just eight appearances through two pro seasons and oscillated between the 53-man roster and practice squad. Overall, he averaged 2.8 yards on 30 carries and hauled in two of three targets for 27 yards. Considering how the team has approached Kelly to date, he likely will be signed to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

The Buccaneers will waive Ogunbowale, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Ogunbowale appeared destined for a change-of-pace/special-teams role with the Bucs, but the team's recent addition of Leonard Fournette made him the odd man out, with Ronald Jones, Ke'Shawn Vaughn and LeSean McCoy also in the mix. It remains to be seen if Ogunbowale catches on with another team in short order or circles back with Tampa Bay once the ongoing league-wide roster trimming settles down.

Gibson's emergence during training camp played a role in Washington's decision to release Adrian Peterson on Friday, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.

The third-round rookie already was ticketed for a role in the Week 1 gameplan, but it was Peterson who was widely viewed as the favorite to serve as the lead runner. It's now possible GIbson handles the job, though this report notes that Peyton Barber could also get carries, and the team still has J.D. McKissic for passing downs. Gibson is the one with three-down potential, even if it doesn't materialize right away.
