  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Titans' Derrick Henry: Leading rusher in Week 3 win

Henry rushed 18 times for 57 yards and failed to catch his lone target in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Jaguars.

Henry led his team in scrimmage yards, as offense was hard to come by in this low-scoring affair. This was nearly a mirror image of last week's performance, when Henry turned 18 carries into 56 yards. The power back is averaging just 3.0 yards per carry through three weeks, which doesn't bode well for his chances of finding success against a stout Eagles run defense next week.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

49ers' Matt Breida: Reenters Sunday's contest

Breida (knee) returned to Sunday's game in Kansas City, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Breida appeared to suffer a non-contact injury to his right knee in the first half, but after an evaluation, he tested it out with some jogging and cutting on the sideline and reentered the contest after halftime. As long as he doesn't aggravate the issue, he's poised to split running back reps with Alfred Morris.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

49ers' Matt Breida: Suffers apparent knee injury

Breida left Sunday's game at Kansas City with an apparent right knee injury, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Like teammate Jerick McKinnon in late August, Breida seemed to suffer the injury as his leg got caught before taking any contact, and he spent time in the sideline medical tent, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports. The 49ers will do their due diligence to hone in on a diagnosis, but it's a good sign that the second-year back was doing some light jogging on the sideline after he was evaluated. Nevertheless, Alfred Morris will head the backfield for the foreseeable future.

  • Corey Grant RB | JAC

Jaguars' Corey Grant: Opportunity knocks with Fournette out

With Leonard Fournette (hamstring) inactive, Grant figures to see added opportunities in the Jaguars offense Sunday against the Titans.

T.J. Yeldon is slated to play through his ankle issue and figures to head the team's rushing attack, but Grant should see his share of touches in Week 3, after rushing four times for 13 yards and catching six of his seven targets for 56 yards in last Sunday's win over the Patriots. He's thus an option in PPR formats and for those scrambling for running back help this weekend.

  • Thomas Rawls RB | JAC

Bengals' Thomas Rawls: Won't suit up Week 3

Rawls (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Panthers.

Rawls missed some practice time this week due to general soreness, but he was back on the practice field both Thursday and Friday. This makes his inactive status a bit surprising, especially with regular starter Joe Mixon (knee) on the shelf. This move will leave Mark Walton as the only remaining healthy running back on the active roster behind presumed starter Giovani Bernard.

  • Corey Clement RB | ARI

Eagles' Corey Clement: Will serve in starting role Week 3

Clement (quadriceps) will make his first NFL start Sunday against the Colts, Zack Rosenblatt of NJ.com reports.

With the quad injury Clement picked up Friday not considered a major concern, he'll suit up Week 3 and have a prime opportunity awaiting him with the top two backs on the depth chart, Jay Ajayi (back) and Darren Sproles (hamstring), both ruled out for the afternoon. Clement shined in a supporting role in last week's win over the Buccaneers with 85 total yards and a touchdown on 11 touches (six carries, five receptions), but he should see his involvement on the ground pick up considerably while Ajayi is sidelined. Wendell Smallwood and Josh Adams are also on hand to provide depth behind Clement, though it's unclear if head coach Doug Pederson plans to take a true committee approach to the backfield or lean heavily on Clement as the team's lead back.

  • Samaje Perine RB | CIN

Redskins' Samaje Perine: Inactive again Sunday

Perine (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Packers.

With the placement of Rob Kelley (toe) on injured reserve this week, Perine was expected to earn active status for the first time this season Week 3. Instead, the Redskins promoted Kapri Bibbs from the practice squad Saturday and opted to make him the No. 3 running back behind Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson. At this point, Perine appears to be a persona non grata in Washington.

  • Mike Boone RB | MIA

Vikings' Mike Boone: Set to play Sunday

Boone (groin) is listed as active for Sunday's tilt against the Bills.

Boone was originally questionable with a minor groin injury as a late addition to Friday's injury report, but the undrafted rookie has a relatively clear path to his first NFL touches with starter Dalvin Cook (hamstring) sidelined this week. Boone is slated to work alongside fellow reserve Roc Thomas behind veteran Latavius Murray, who figures to see a bulk of the work out of Minnesota's backfield. If the Vikings live up to the hype as heavy favorites, however, Boone and Thomas could see their roles increase as the game progresses in order to preserve the health of Murray while lending the rookie rushers additional opportunities.

  • Corey Clement RB | ARI

Eagles' Corey Clement: Cleared to play Week 3

Clement (quadriceps) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts.

Though he was added to the injury report with a questionable designation after the quadriceps issue limited him in Friday's practice, Clement was never considered in serious danger of missing the Week 3 contest. Clement's restrictions Friday were mainly for precautionary reasons, so he should be ready to start and handle what projects to be his largest workload to date with Jay Ajayi (back) and Darren Sproles (hamstring) both sitting out. Wendell Smallwood and Josh Adams also linger as backfield options, but Clement is the leading candidate to pace the trio in snaps and touches.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Bengals' Joe Mixon: Works on side Friday

Mixon (knee) worked out on a side field at Friday's practice, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.

Less than a week removed from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, Mixon followed up a workout in the weight room Wednesday with on-field work, albeit on the side, during Friday's practice. Among his activity, he was seen jogging through ropes with a football in hand, per Hobson. Mixon has a multi-week recovery in front of him, during which Giovani Bernard will serve as the Bengals' lead back. Meanwhile, Mark Walton is on hand to give Bernard the occasional breather.
