Jahmyr Gibbs RB | DET
Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Workhorse role coming?
Gibbs appears positioned to inherit an increased backfield role, as David Montgomery (knee) is out indefinitely due to a potentially significant MCL injury sustained during Sunday's 48-42 loss to the Bills, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Gibbs piled up 114 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns during Sunday's loss to Buffalo, a contest in which Detroit was forced to play from behind and adopt a pass-heavy approach. Montgomery's MCL injury seems to have also factored into Gibbs' elevated role, rather than the two operating in a fairly even timeshare, as per usual. Now, with Montgomery potentially in danger of missing the remainder of the 2024 campaign, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Gibbs seems to be facing a clear path to workhorse opportunities down the stretch, making him matchup-proof. Gibbs hasn't required a hefty workload in order to produce this season, but with Craig Reynolds and Sione Vaki now positioned as his top complementary options, he's the Lions' clear No. 1 RB heading into a road matchup against the Bears in Week 16.

David Montgomery RB | DET
Lions' David Montgomery: Suffers potentially serious injury
Montgomery (knee) sustained an MCL injury in his knee during Sunday's 48-42 loss to the Bills, the severity of which could be season ending, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Montgomery is undergoing additional tests on his knee Monday and will seek a second opinion on whatever initial results he receives, but Schefter reports that at this time the standout running back is considered out indefinitely. The Lions have yet to make an official announcement regarding Montgomery's status, but the severity of his knee injury ultimately may rule him out for the remainder of the regular season and thus the fantasy playoffs, if not the entire 2024 campaign. Montgomery's injury is the latest in a series of brutal blows for Detroit's roster, especially as the team works to mount an impactful playoff run. The lone bright spot for the Lions is that Jahmyr Gibbs remains a backfield option capable of thriving in a lead role. Beginning Sunday versus Chicago, though, it may fall to Craig Reynolds and Sione Vaki to complement Gibbs in Montgomery's place.

Dameon Pierce RB | KC
Texans' Dameon Pierce: No impact in win
Pierce did not have a carry or a kick return in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Dolphins in Week 15.
Pierce, who was on the field for seven offensive snaps, hasn't had a carry since Week 11. Since returning from a groin injury that cost him two games, Pierce has played just 18 offensive snaps with one carry and one target. Any meaningful impact he makes will have to come as a returner, barring an injury to Joe Mixon.

D'Onta Foreman RB | CLE
Browns' D'Onta Foreman: Could be active Week 16
Foreman, who was a healthy inactive for Week 15, could join the active roster next week as Nick Chubb sustained a season-ending broken foot in Sunday's 21-7 loss to the Chiefs.
Foreman has been a missing person for nine straight weeks since both Chubb and Jerome Ford were both healthy. Ford is expected to carry the backfield load for the Browns with Chubb out, but Foreman could be in the mix.

Tyjae Spears RB | TEN
Titans' Tyjae Spears: Strong showing as pass catcher
Spears rushed the ball four times for five yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-27 loss to the Bengals. He added six receptions on seven targets for 87 yards and an additional score.
Spears has been surprisingly uninvolved in the Tennessee offense for much of the season, though he exploded for a big showing Sunday. He finished off the team's second possession with a one-yard touchdown leap, his only impact as a rusher in the game. However, Spears produced very well as a pass catcher with Mason Rudolph under center and the Titans chasing points in the fourth quarter, highlighted by a long gain of 43 yards as well as a 17-yard touchdown reception. Tony Pollard remains the lead back, though Spears may have be able to carve out a more significant role across the final four games of the season.

Tony Pollard RB | TEN
Titans' Tony Pollard: Inconsistent showing against Cincy
Pollard rushed the ball 17 times for 45 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-27 loss to the Bengals. He was not targeted in the passing game.
Pollard got off to a strong start, as he accounted for 22 yards and a touchdown on the Titans' opening possession. Things got rocky from there, however. In addition to briefly leaving the game due to ankle injury, Pollard also lost a fumble that should have been returned for a touchdown before Jordan Battle fumbled out of the end zone. Positively, Pollard remains the clear lead back and has shown the ability to excel on the ground despite the poor state of the Tennessee offense.

Antonio Gibson RB | NE
Patriots' Antonio Gibson: Gains 64 yards on nine touches
Gibson had seven carries for 33 yards and two receptions (on as many targets) for 31 yards in Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Cardinals.
Gibson followed up his first touchdown of the season with a well-rounded effort behind starter Rhamondre Stevenson (13-69-0). The 26-year-old Gibson is averaging 4.7 yards with the Patriots this season, a mark he hadn't sniffed since his impressive rookie campaign with Washington in 2020. Gibson can provide niche value for those in deep PPR formats for Week 16 against Buffalo.

Zach Charbonnet RB | SEA
Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Scores team's only TD on SNF
Charbonnet had eight carries for 54 yards and a touchdown while adding one reception (on four targets) for 12 yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to Green Bay.
The entirety of Seattle's offense was stymied by Green Bay's defense aside from Charbonnet's 24-yard touchdown scamper early in the fourth quarter. The surging sophomore has thrived in his last two starts sans Kenneth Walker (calf), unearthing 259 yards from scrimmage with three touchdowns as the Seahawks' primary back. Walker could potentially return in Week 16, which would put a significant dent in Charbonnet's value at a crucial point of the fantasy campaign. Until the former is officially ruled active, managers should hang on to the talented backup in the event he draws another start against the Vikings next Sunday.

Josh Jacobs RB | GB
Packers' Josh Jacobs: Accounts for 136 yards in win
Jacobs rushed 26 times for 94 yards and a touchdown while catching all four of his targets for 42 yards in Sunday's 30-13 win over the Seahawks. He also lost a fumble.
Jacobs was involved from the get-go with 44 scrimmage yards on seven carries and two catches on the opening drive, which concluded with a one-yard touchdown run. He finished the first half with 17 touches for 111 yards but struggled after halftime. Jacobs went backward in the third quarter with four carries for minus-5 yards, then fumbled in the fourth. He racked up some more yardage as the Packers kept the clock running with the lead but was stuffed on fourth-and-2 with 5:55 left. Jacobs came six rushing yards shy of his fourth 100-yard rushing performance, but he's up to 12 rushing touchdowns in 14 games with the Packers and will look to add to that total against the Saints in a Monday night matchup in Week 16.

Jaylen Warren RB | PIT
Steelers' Jaylen Warren: Held to 15 yards
Warren rushed the ball four times for 12 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Eagles. He added one rush on two targets for three yards.
Pat Freiermuth was the only Steelers' skill-position player to deliver a useful fantasy performance as the offense ran only 41 plays for the game. Warren did avoid any back-breaking mistakes, unlike Najee Harris, though this marked his fewest yards from scrimmage since Week 3. Warren's usage on the ground has been inconsistent this season, though he's had more regular production as a pass catcher and should have the chance to bounce back in that role in a Week 16 matchup against Baltimore.
