  • Braelon Allen RB | NYJ

Jets' Braelon Allen: Stymied by Vikings

Allen rushed the ball five times for 13 yards in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings. He added one reception on two targets for 15 yards.

Allen was limited by both volume and inefficiency in the Week 5 loss, as he averaged only 2.6 yards per carry and had a long gain of just seven yards. The Jets also attempted only 14 rushes as opposed to 54 passes as they faced a negative game script for the entire contest. That led to a poor result, and Allen was also out-touched 12-6 by Breece Hall heading into a Week 6 bye.

  • Ty Chandler RB | NO

Vikings' Ty Chandler: Bottled up by Jets

Chandler rushed the ball 14 times for 30 yards in Sunday's 23-17 win over the Jets. He added two receptions on two targets for nine yards.

Chandler had the chance to serve as Minnesota's lead back for three quarters in Sunday's win with Aaron Jones suffering a hip injury. Positively, he accounted for 14 of the 18 rushing attempts after setting aside Jones' touches. However, he lost a goal-line touch to C.J. Ham in the second quarter. Chandler's long-term fantasy usefulness is also unclear with the Vikings heading into a Week 6 bye.

  • Breece Hall RB | NYJ

Jets' Breece Hall: Scripted out of loss

Hall rushed the ball nine times for 23 yards in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings. He added three catches on four targets for 14 yards.

The Jets fell behind early in the contest, limiting Hall to single-digit carries for the second consecutive week. He had poor overall efficiency, though he did show some burst with 10 and seven-yard gains on separate carries. While it was a second straight frustrating performance, Hall still clearly held the lead-back role for New York, as he had 12 total touches compared to six for Braelon Allen.

  • De'Von Achane RB | MIA

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Won't return Sunday

Achane won't return to Sunday's game against the Patriots after suffering a concussion.

Achane thus finished the contest with three carries for 18 yards and one catch for minus-1 yard. In Achane's absence for the rest of the Week 5 contest, the Dolphins will lean on Raheem Mostert and Jaylen Wright to handle snaps out of the backfield. Achane will target a return to action Oct. 20 against the Colts, following the Dolphins' Week 6 bye.

  • De'Von Achane RB | MIA

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Evaluated for possible concussion

Achane is being evaluated for a possible concussion during Sunday's game against the Patriots.

Prior to his exit, Achane carried three times for 18 yards and caught one pass for minus-1 yard. In his absence, Raheem Mostert and Jaylen Wright are available to handle Miami's backfield duties versus New England.

  • British Brooks RB | HOU

Texans' British Brooks: Leaves game early

Brooks (knee) has exited Sunday's game against the Bills.

Brooks has primarily worked on special teams, but he has seen a few snaps on offense with Joe Mixon (ankle) and Dameon Pierce (hamstring) out of action. His absence may lead to extra opportunities for J.J. Taylor

  • Cam Akers RB | SEA

Texans' Cam Akers: In line for another start

Akers is expected to serve as the Texans' starting running back due to Joe Mixon (ankle) and Dameon Pierce (hamstring) being inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills.

While Mixon and Pierce remain sidelined for their third and fourth straight games, respectively, Akers appears poised to lead the Houston backfield once again, with Dare Ogunbowale and J.J. Taylor on hand behind Akers for change-of-pace work. In the team's 24-20 win over the Jaguars last weekend, Akers carried 13 times for 53 yards and was not targeted in the passing game. Meanwhile, Taylor logged six carries for 18 yards and Ogunbowale rushed twice for seven yards and caught all four of his targets for 47 yards and a touchdown.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Sitting out in Week 5

Wilson (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Sunday in New England.

With Raheem Mostert (chest) available for the first time since Week 1, Wilson will don street clothes while De'Von Achane, Mostert and rookie fourth-rounder Jaylen Wright man the Dolphins backfield Week 5. Miami has a Week 6 bye, so it remains to be seen if this will be Wilson's reality moving forward.

  • Dameon Pierce RB | PHI

Texans' Dameon Pierce: Won't play Sunday

Pierce (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills.

Pierce practiced Friday for the first time since sustaining a strained hamstring ahead of Week 2 action and approached the contest listed as questionable. With both Pierce and Joe Mixon (ankle) still sidelined, look for Cam Akers to continue to lead Houston's backfield versus Buffalo, with Dare Ogunbowale a candidate to see change-of-pace work and J.J. Taylor and British Brooks available to provide the Texans with Week 5 backfield depth.

  • Browns' Pierre Strong: Returning in Week 5

Strong (hamstring) is active Week 5 against the Commanders.

While Strong will return from a two-game absence, he'll still presumably be behind Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman on the running back depth chart. When he did suit up in Weeks 1 and 2, Strong saw more work on special teams than he did on offense, so the fantasy upside is limited.
