Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Active versus Ravens

Pacheco (toe/ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Ravens.

After being held out of practice both Wednesday and Thursday, Pacheco was able to log a limited session Friday and approach Sunday's contest officially listed as questionable. With his active status confirmed, Pacheco is on track to continue to pace the Chiefs backfield versus Baltimore in the absence of any in-game setbacks, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire available to mix in and La'Mical Perine in reserve. During Kansas City's divisional-round win over the Bills last weekend, Pacheco was on the field for 72 percent of his team's snaps on offense en route to rushing 15 times for 97 yards and a touchdown while catching his lone target for 14 yards.

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Expected to play Sunday

Pacheco (toe/ankle) remains listed as questionable but is expected to play in Sunday's AFC Championship Game matchup with the Ravens, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Pacheco was a non-participant in practice for consecutive days to start the week due to the pair of injuries before returning to the field Friday as a limited participant. According to James Palmer of NFL Network, the Chiefs had planned all along to withhold Pacheco from practice until Friday, signaling that his pair of absences to begin the week may have been for maintenance purposes more than anything. Assuming he's officially cleared upon the release of the Chiefs' inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 3 p.m. ET kickoff, Pacheco should once again be in store for a robust workload as Kansas City's lead back. Between his final appearance in the regular season in Week 17 against the Bengals and the Chiefs' first two playoff games, Pacheco has handled snap shares north of 70 percent each time out while averaging 22 touches (19 carries and three receptions) for 121.3 yards from scrimmage over those three outings.

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Questionable for Sunday

Pacheco (toe/ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Ravens.

After being listed as a non-participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday, Pacheco returned to a limited session Friday and will thus head into the weekend with an official 'questionable' tag ahead of Sunday's 3 p.m. ET kickoff. Look for added context regarding the running back's status to arrive closer to game time, and if Pacheco ends up limited or out versus Baltimore, Clyde Edwards-Helaire would be next in line for added backfield touches for the Chiefs.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Titans' Derrick Henry: Could fit with new coach?

New Titans coach Brian Callahan suggested Friday that he'd like to work with Henry, who is scheduled for unrestricted free agency this offseason, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports. "A player like [Henry' fits into any offense," Callahan said. "If he's open to a return, that fits for us. I'm never going to reject good players. "

The hiring of a head coach that previously served as offensive coordinator for the pass-first Bengals has been taken by some as a(nother) sign Henry is likely to leave Tennessee. Callahan does have a point, however, in part because Henry is probably a better receiver and blocker than he gets credit for. The two other big factors here are: A) money, and B) the possibility Henry wants to play for a team with better Super Bowl odds in 2024. He turned 30 at the beginning of January, three days before running for 153 yards and a touchdown in a 28-20 win over Jacksonville. It was Henry's fourth 100-yard game of the season, boosting his per-carry average to 4.2 yards and allowing him to finish second in the league in rushing yardage (1,167).

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Spotted at practice

Pacheco (toe/ankle) was present for practice Friday, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

After being deemed a non-participant both Wednesday and Thursday, Pacheco's return to the field Friday has him trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Ravens. The Chiefs' final injury report of the week will clarify whether the team's top running back heads into the weekend with an injury designation or fully cleared to face Baltimore.

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Not in line to practice Thursday

Pacheco (toe/ankle) won't practice Thursday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Per the report, coach Andy Reid relayed that Pacheco participated in the team's morning walk-through, but the running back is slated to go down as a non-participant in practice for the second straight day Thursday. Pacheco thus has one more chance to get in some on-field work ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship Game at Baltimore, but unless he practices fully Friday, he figures to head into the weekend with an injury designation.

  • Jermar Jefferson: Dealing with injury

The Lions placed Jefferson on the practice squad injured list Wednesday due to an unspecified issue.

Jefferson will be ineligible to take part in practices with the Lions for the remainder of the postseason while he recovers from the injury. The 23-year-old running back logged 15 carries for 74 yards and two touchdowns over seven appearances as a rookie with the Lions in 2021 but hasn't seen any game action since while spending both of the past two seasons on Detroit's practice squad.

  • Jake Funk RB | JAC

Jake Funk: Gets look from Detroit

The Lions signed Funk to their practice squad Wednesday.

Funk was most recently a member of Baltimore's practice squad before he was cut loose earlier this month when the Ravens added Dalvin Cook. The Maryland product originally joined the NFL as a seventh-round selection of the Rams in 2021 and has also seen regular-season action with the Colts. Funk will join Detroit's practice unit as a replacement for fellow running back Jermar Jefferson (undisclosed), who was placed on the practice squad injured list.

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Toe should be fine

The toe injury that kept Pacheco out of practice Wednesday isn't viewed as a major concern, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.

Though Pacheco was a spectator for the Chiefs' first practice of the week, the toe injury isn't anything that will prevent him from handling his usual lead role this Sunday in Baltimore in the AFC Championship Game. He's taken 39 carries for 186 yards (4.8 YPC) and two touchdowns in two playoff games while handling 70 and 72 percent offensive snap shares in those contests, and he's gotten 15 or more touches in eight straight appearances dating back to early November. The only back with comparable usage for the Chiefs in the Patrick Mahomes era was Damien Williams, who handled similarly hefty workloads during the team's playoff run in the 2019 season.

  • Zack Moss RB | CIN

Colts' Zack Moss: Interested in re-signing

Moss said Tuesday that he would be interested in re-signing with the Colts this offseason, Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star reports.

The 2020 third-round draft pick enjoyed a mini-breakout in the final year of his rookie contract, making eight starts for an Indianapolis offense that didn't have Jonathan Taylor in Weeks 1 through 4 and 13 through 15. Taylor's absences allowed Moss to set career highs for snaps, carries, targets, rushing yards and touchdowns, though the 26-year-old finished out his season with only six touches on 11 snaps in a 23-19 loss to the Texans in Week 18 while Taylor took on 32 touches for 196 yards across 51 snaps. It's hard to say if free agency will offer Moss a chance to compete for a starting job elsewhere, but he would have to settle for a clear reserve role if he returns to Indianapolis and if Taylor is healthy to begin the 2024 season.
