  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Shouldn't need ankle surgery

Mostert said Monday he doesn't expect to undergo surgery to address the ankle injury that hindered him down the stretch of the 2023 season, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Mostert entered Saturday's 26-7 wild-card loss to the Chiefs nursing both knee and ankle injuries, but frigid weather conditions and an unfortunate game script limited him to eight carries for 33 yards. He also secured one of two targets for minus-3 yards. Looking ahead to his age-32 season, it's certainly encouraging that Mostert won't have to rehab from surgery, as he has yet to show signs of losing a step. Across 15 regular-season appearances, Mostert set a franchise record with 21 total scores while rushing for 1,012 yards on 209 carries (4.8 YPC). With one more season left on his two-year deal, the stage looks set for Mostert to once again headline one of the NFL's most efficient rushing attacks alongside De'Von Achane during the 2024 campaign.

  • Dameon Pierce RB | PHI

Texans' Dameon Pierce: Little involvement in win

Pierce had three carries for zero yards and played six snaps on offense in Saturday's 45-14 wild-card playoff victory over Cleveland.

Two of Pierce's three carries came in the fourth quarter when the game was long settled and Davis Mills had replaced C.J. Stroud. The backup running back did not have a kickoff return, which has been his primary contribution the last few weeks. The one kick return Houston had was by Dare Ogunbowale.

  • Ronnie Rivers RB | LAR

Rams' Ronnie Rivers: Six touches in playoff loss

Rivers rushed three times for nine yards and caught all three of his targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 24-23 wild-card round loss to the Lions.

Rivers got most of his playing time down the stretch after Kyren Williams suffered a hand injury. Rivers will be an exclusive rights free agent this offseason, so he's likely to be brought back by the Rams in 2024, but Williams is expected to remain the lead back when healthy on the heels of a breakout season.

  • Lions' David Montgomery: Leading rusher in WC win

Montgomery ran the ball 14 times for 57 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for 11 yards in Sunday's 24-23 win over the Rams.

Montgomery kicked off the scoring Sunday when he capped off a 10-play, 75-yard opening drive with a one-yard touchdown run. The bruising back would go on to lead Detroit's backfield in both carries and yards while both he and Jahmyr Gibbs scored a first-quarter touchdown. In fact, the backfield mates finished the wild-card win with exactly 68 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown apiece. Detroit figures to employ a similar run-heavy strategy spearheaded by Montgomery in the upcoming NFC divisional round.

  • Jahmyr Gibbs RB | DET

Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Goes for 68 yards plus score

Gibbs rushed eight times for 25 yards and a touchdown while corralling all four of his targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 24-23 playoff win over the Rams.

Gibbs was an integral part of building Detroit's early 14-3 lead when he scored his club's second rushing touchdown of the first quarter in Sunday's NFC wild-card victory. Starter David Montgomery (14-57-1) hit pay dirt on the Lions' first possession, then Gibbs followed with a10-yard scamper up the middle on the ensuing offensive drive. Jared Goff then followed with a touchdown pass to tight end Sam LaPorta to complete a trifecta of touchdowns on the team's first three possessions. The offense cooled thereafter, but the early point explosion was enough to lift the team to the next round of the playoffs. Expect the Lions to get Gibbs to double-digit touches in the upcoming NFC divisional round.

  • Kyren Williams RB | LAR

Rams' Kyren Williams: Hurts hand in playoff debut

Williams (hand) is questionable to return to Sunday's wild-card round game against the Lions.

Williams went back to the locker room in the fourth quarter to have the injury examined, leaving Ronnie Rivers as the top option in Los Angeles' backfield. Prior to the injury, Williams rushed 13 times for 61 yards and caught his lone target for nine yards in his playoff debut.

  • Tony Pollard RB | TEN

Cowboys' Tony Pollard: Finds end zone in loss to Packers

Pollard carried the ball 15 times for 56 yards and a touchdown and caught seven of nine targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 48-32 wild-card loss to Green Bay.

The fifth-year back had a solid day, seeing some early success on the ground and punching in a one-yard touchdown in the third quarter, but the Cowboys' overall struggles put them in a hole that eventually forced the offense to abandon the running game. Pollard had a productive regular season, gaining 1,005 rushing yards -- two short of his career high -- and six TDs on the ground while catching 55 of 67 targets for 311 receiving yards over 17 games, but it's unclear if he'll return as Dallas' starting RB as he heads into free agency.

  • Aaron Jones RB | MIN

Packers' Aaron Jones: Three TDs in playoff win at Dallas

Jones rushed 21 times for 118 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 48-32 wild-card round win over the Cowboys. He also caught his lone target for 13 yards.

Jones capped the opening drive with a three-yard touchdown run on what was already his seventh carry of the game. He doubled Green Bay's lead with a one-yard touchdown run in the first minute of the second quarter, then helped the Packers pull away with a nine-yard score in the third. The Packers led 27-0 in the second quarter and 48-16 in the fourth, so the game wasn't as close as the final score suggests. Jones exceeded 100 rushing yards for the fourth consecutive game, so he's peaking at the right time heading into a trip to San Francisco in the divisional round.

  • AJ Dillon RB | CAR

Packers' AJ Dillon: Won't play Sunday

Dillon (thumb/neck) is inactive for Sunday's wild-card game in Dallas.

Dillon, who has yet to practice since suffering a neck stinger during Week 17 action, will miss a second consecutive contest as a result. In Dillon's place, Patrick Taylor likely will earn any backfield reps that don't go to top running back Aaron Jones, who has reeled off three straight performances of 110-plus yards on the ground. Green Bay will need a victory Sunday in order for Dillon to have a chance to suit up again this season.

  • Isiah Pacheco RB | DET

Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco: Handles heavy workload

Pacheco rushed the ball 24 times for 89 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 26-7 win over the Dolphins. He added one reception on one target for negative-one yard.

The Chiefs ran an impressive 75 plays, meaning the skill-position players had plenty of opportunity to produce. Pacheco was no exception, as he saw his highest carry total of the season. He was inefficient with those chances, but he managed to punch in a three-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to pad his fantasy production. Kansas City's passing attack showed signs of improvement in the win, but Pacheco should continue to serve in a key role throughout the team's playoff run.
