  • Jordan Mason RB | MIN

49ers' Jordan Mason: Good to go at Washington

Mason (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Commanders.

The 24-year-old was considered questionable due to an illness but has been cleared to suit up for Week 17. Mason should see most of his action on special teams Sunday with Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell entering the game healthy.

  • Saints' Kendre Miller: Inactive in Week 17

Miller (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

The rookie's troublesome ankle was expected to keep him out for a seventh straight game, and his inactive status is now confirmed. Miller's absence isn't expected to impact a Saints backfield that will have Alvin Kamara after the latter was able to overcome a late-week illness, as well as veteran No. 2 back Jamaal Williams in his usual complementary role.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Missing first game of season

Mostert (knee/ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Though he's been a fixture on Miami injury reports throughout the 2023 campaign, Mostert will be missing his first game of the season in Week 17 after his pair of lower-body concerns kept him from practicing Wednesday and Thursday and limited his participation Friday. With the NFL's touchdown leader out Sunday, the Dolphins will turn the backfield over to standout rookie De'Von Achane, who could be primed to handle his largest workload of the season. Jeff Wilson should also see an expanded role as Achane's top backup, while rookie Chris Brooks is on hand to provide depth as Miami's No. 3 back.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Active as expected Sunday

Kamara (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

The star running back was reported to be trending toward suiting up Saturday night, and his active status is now official. While his availability is certainly welcome news for fantasy managers counting on the versatile veteran in their leagues' critical postseason matchups, it's worth noting Kamara is coming off his most inefficient rushing day of the season -- he garnered 19 yards on nine carries against the Rams in Week 16 -- and faces a Buccaneers defense that's yielded just 64.3 rushing yards per contest in the last three games.

  • Josh Jacobs RB | GB

Raiders' Josh Jacobs: Won't play Sunday

Jacobs (quadriceps) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts.

Jacobs, who was listed as a DNP from Wednesday through Friday, approached the contest listed as doubtful. Now that it's been confirmed that he'll miss his third straight contest, Zamir White is once again slated to lead the Raiders' backfield in Week 17. Jacobs will target a potential return to action in the team's regular-season finale next weekend against the Broncos.

  • Saints' Kendre Miller: Likely to sit out Week 17

Miller (ankle) remains listed as questionable but isn't expected to play Sunday against the Buccaneers, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Miller will likely be included among the Saints' list of inactives, which will be released 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Though Miller was a limited participant in practices Wednesday through Friday, head coach Dennis Allen intimated after the latter session that the running back was trending in the wrong direction for Sunday. Miller's expected absence for a seventh straight game thus comes as little surprise, but the fact that the Saints haven't yet placed him on injured reserve offers some hope that the rookie might be able to play Week 18 against the Falcons. Even if Miller is available for that contest, he's not likely to have much of a role in the backfield behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams, especially if the Saints have playoff implications at stake in the regular-season finale.

  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Could have expanded profile Sunday

Wilson is likely to have an expanded role as the Dolphins' No. 2 back behind De'Von Achane in Sunday's game against the Ravens with Raheem Mostert (knee/ankle) likely to be inactive for the contest, Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report.

Mostert is officially listed as questionable but is expected to miss his first game of the season after he managed just one limited practice this week while tending to his pair of injuries. The explosive Achane could make a push for a 20-touch workload Sunday with Mostert out of the picture, but the Dolphins will still likely attempt to keep the rookie fresh by mixing Wilson and perhaps even third-stringer Chris Brooks into the backfield. While Mostert was limited due to his injuries in the Dolphins' 22-20 win over the Cowboys in Week 16, Wilson played 15 snaps -- his most since Week 12 -- and finished with five carries for 21 yards and one catch for four yards.

  • De'Von Achane RB | MIA

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Looks set for lead back role Sunday

Achane appears poised to lead the Dolphins backfield Sunday in Baltimore with Raheem Mostert (knee/ankle) considered unlikely to be available for the Week 17 contest, Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report.

For a third consecutive week, Achane tended to a toe injury, ramping up his activity from none Wednesday to some one day later and then a full session Friday. The development was enough for him to avoid a Week 17 game designation, while Mostert's one limited practice to end the week left him questionable to suit up. Miami will be posting its inactive list about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, and assuming Mostert's name is included, Achane should take on lead back duties for the team, with Jeff Wilson and Chris Brooks on hand in reserve roles.

  • Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Expected to play in Week 17

Walker (shoulder/illness) is slated to suit up Sunday against the Steelers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

For the second week in a row, Walker is carrying a questionable tag into Sunday after he didn't mix into drills until Friday's practice, when he was deemed a limited participant. After that practice, head coach Pete Carroll told Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic that Walker would be a game-time decision this weekend, and Schefter noted in his report that the Seahawks are concerned about the shoulder injury that he aggravated last Sunday in Tennessee. As such, Walker may be subject to a pregame workout before the team makes an official ruling on his status when the team's inactive list is posted about 90 minutes before a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. If Walker is limited or even sidelined, Zach Charbonnet would be the likely beneficiary out of Seattle's backfield.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Expected to play Sunday

Kamara (illness) is slated to play in Sunday's game at Tampa Bay, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Kamara sat out Friday's practice due to an illness and is officially listed as questionable for Week 17. In light of Schefter's report, however, Kamara looks set to avoid the Saints' inactive list, which will be posted about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. With that in mind, Kamara has a good chance at handling his typical workload, which has equated to 89 touches for 418 yards from scrimmage and three rushing touchdowns in five games since the team's Week 11 bye.
