  • James Mitchell TE | CAR

Lions' James Mitchell: Sitting out again

Mitchell (coach's decision) will be sidelined Sunday against Minnesota.

Mitchell will not suit up for the third consecutive week as the No. 4 tight end behind T.J. Hockenson, Brock Wright and Shane Zylstra. The rookie will look to work in practice next week to make his official NFL regular-season debut.

  • Pharaoh Brown TE | ARI

Texans' Pharaoh Brown: Suiting up in Chicago

Brown (shoulder) is active Week 3 against the Bears.

After seeing five targets a week ago, Brown again has an opportunity to make a contribution to the passing game from the tight end position. Brevin Jordan (ankle) has been ruled out for the matchup, so the Texans did call up Jordan Akins from the practice squad to serve as a depth option.

  • Hayden Hurst TE | LAC

Bengals' Hayden Hurst: Active as expected

Hurst (groin) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Jets, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.

Hurst was listed as questionable after he practiced in a limited fashion Friday, but he's been cleared to take the field Week 3. The 29-year-old has caught 10 of 15 targets for 70 yards through the first two games of the year and should continue operating as Cincinnati's No. 1 tight end Sunday.

  • C.J. Uzomah TE | PHI

Jets' C.J. Uzomah: Ready for Sunday

Uzomah (hamstring) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

Uzomah was listed as questionable despite putting in a full practice Friday, so it's not a surprise he's been cleared to suit up Sunday. The 29-year-old sat out with the injury Week 2 but is back in action to face his former team this weekend.

  • Isaiah Likely TE | NYG

Ravens' Isaiah Likely: Listed as active Sunday

Likely (groin) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Patriots.

After Likely was blanked on four targets in Week 1, he logged a 4/43/0 line on five targets last weekend against the Dolphins. However, as long as the 2022 fourth-rounder continues to work behind clear-cut top TE Mark Andrews, he may not always see steady volume, a context that makes Likely a speculative fantasy option.

  • Taysom Hill QB | NO

Saints' Taysom Hill: Sitting out Sunday

Hill (ribs) is listed as inactive Sunday in Carolina.

Prior to receiving a questionable designation for Week 3 on Friday, Hill was a limited participant in all three practices. As Sunday dawned, though, it was revealed he wasn't in line to play this weekend, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. With Hill's status as out confirmed, his next chance to play will arrive Sunday, Oct. 2 against the Vikings.

  • Dawson Knox TE | BUF

Bills' Dawson Knox: Active against Miami

Knox (foot) is active Week 3 against the Dolphins.

Knox failed to take the practice field Wednesday, but a pair of limited sessions the following two days will allow the tight end to suit up despite a "questionable" tag heading into Sunday's early slate. He'll now take the field as the presumed TE1 against a Miami defense that surrendered a 9/104/1 line to opposing tight end Mark Andrews a week ago.

  • T.J. Hockenson TE | MIN

Lions' T.J. Hockenson: Playing in Week 3

Hockenson (hip) is listed as active Sunday at Minnesota.

Despite having a cap on his practice reps during Week 3 prep, Hockenson will play through a hip issue Sunday. His output has been lacking through two games, with a catch rate of 50 percent and 4.6 YPT on his 14 targets. Fortunately for Hockenson, he's taking on a Vikings defense that has given up a league-worst 10.6 YPT to tight ends this season.

  • Hayden Hurst TE | LAC

Bengals' Hayden Hurst: In line to play Sunday

Hurst (groin) is expected to play Sunday at the Jets, Dianna Russini of ESPN reports.

Hurst opened Week 3 prep with a limited session before returning to full participation Thursday. He then logged a capped practice Friday, when Russini reported that Hurst endured a setback with his groin injury. Still, Hurst now is "good to go" Sunday, with his status to be confirmed about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Taysom Hill QB | NO

Saints' Taysom Hill: Not expected to play Sunday

Hill (ribs) is not expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Hill's official status will be revealed prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, but it looks as though the versatile playmaker is not expected to face Carolina. On a positive note for the Saints, both Jameis Winston (back/ankle) and Alvin Kamara (ribs) are expected to go Sunday.
